Werner Günthör (né le 11 juillet 1961 à Uttwil) est un lanceur de poids suisse qui fut triple champion du monde de la discipline (1987, 1991, 1993).
En 1987, il établit le record du monde en salle avec un lancer à 22,26 mètres. Le 23 août 1988 à Berne, il lance le poids à 22.75 mètres, soit la 5e performance mondiale de tous les temps.
Son entraineur était Jean-Pierre Egger, lui-même un spécialiste renommé dans cette discipline.

Programme fort intéressant. La fin du second volet est très impressionnante. Hélas il y a toujours cette erreur de terminologie : "des séries de dix répétitions" ; or il s'agit de séries de dix mouvements, c'est-à-dire un mouvement initial et neuf répétitions d'icelui. cette erreur langagière est répandue dans tout le mouvement sportif quelque soient les disciplines, qu'il s'agisse de musculation, de séries au football, en gymnastique, " dix répétitions, dix reps " alors qu'il s'agit toujours d'un mouvement puis neuf répétitions, soit un total de dix mouvements dans la série.

Hnnnnngghhh at those machines. It seems as if they can adjust the angle and the direction of both the plate loaded arm and the lever arm on every machine. Can someone let me know what those machines are called? They're almost modular gear boxes with adjustable arms you can mount to whatever you want.
