- I Decided I wanted to buy an Australian car so I bought a series 2 EB Ford falcon (fairmont) off marketplace and there's some issues. Ive always anted a big daily driver and it had to be a ford.

Faaaaarrrrrrrkin awesome!!!!!!!! You scored an EB Fairmont with ED XR front end and manual!!!!! Fairmont in manual is unheard of! I'm a bit like you - got a bugeye WRX STi that has more spent on the engine than it's worth and I flatly refuse to park it in a supermarket carpark due to the original, low-km body/paint. Got a daily EB Grand Luxury injected model (GLi-LOL) with genuine 130,000km on the odo after buying from the original owner's grandson. My second-ever car as a younger bloke was an ED XR6 manual and I'll always have a real soft spot for those cars.

EDIT: Most EA 3.9s were also multi-point injection, very few were the povvo-pack carb injection.
I'm in the process of piecing together a SOHC turbo setup as well, using leftover bits from my FGX G6ET. TI Automotive are deadset champions, massive SOHC fans, and can help you out with anything you're after. Jason is da man. ;)

love the e series they will be collectable with time i think the xr's and the v8's anything tickford related are the one's to grab.

love the car mate i have a 1992 EB series 2 with a 5L winsor i couldn't agree more with you on loving the shape and every thing about these old fords
colour coded door handles, tinted windows and nice set of wheels and it will look nice

I myself have a falcon xr6 ba with the 5 speed too, and man are these falcons sweet! my dad has an ef and el wagon sitting in the garage... for like 6 years now. as soon as i save up the money im going to get em up and running cos man theres something so good about them SOHC engines!! should go for a drive sometime since im in melbourne too mate :D
I really love the b series I was definitely tossing between one. Wanted to go with something older while there still cheap.

White is also 1 of the most dullest boring common shades too lol. Yes it probably does hold it's paint conditions better but if you keep them garaged when you can, you can prevent some of it happening. Great video! Nice EB!👌

I remembered my EA Spack manual malty point fuel injection one of my all time favorite cars I've ever owned.
the EA had 2 injectors in the throttle body.

Standard eb2/ed 4.0l sohc mpi had 148kw engine, 348nm torque. The Extractors & 5spd manual definitely help it move better. The xr6 ran a 3:45lsd.
My old EF Fairmont ghia Auto ran 15.9 1/4 Mile back in 2008 with Pacys, 2.5 system, highflow cat, 3:45lsd, and no airfilter for the run. Great fun.

EA and EB first series Falcon had single point injection with full multi port injection an option I think, with both the EA and EB Fairmont Ghia having multi port injection standard.
The EB 2 came wIth MPI standard across the range.
One cab operator said he preferred single point injection for converting to LPG. He said it was better suited and was peeved Ford made multi port standard.
So I’ve heard regarding lpg.
I definitely went for the multi point there a much better power and fuel % plus easier to tune for a turbo

Go to your local big w get 5 star wheel cleaner spray it on the cars paint and scrub it. It will bring the paint up so much better for around 10 bucks

Multi point injection as oppose to centre point injection which came out in the EAs. EAs were 1 of the worst cars ford ever built. I had a stock standard EB falcon and originally it was an automatic but I converted it to manual. The auto was pretty good and still went quite hard but doing the manual conversion definitely made the car. I lowered it 2" all round and fitted a full 2.5" Exhaust system with Genie Extractors and it sounded mint. Livened it right up! It was awesome on fuel and was very Torquey. Good luck with the car buddy!👍
Run a cutting back polish on it and you'll be amazed with how great the duco will come up! Not bad for the money.👌
I bought an ED for $400 on carsales, grandpa spec had sat for 4 years and has 500k+ kms. Barely made it home and have spent thousands fixing it

The EA was a short-lived 3.3 but most had a 3.9 single point as shown on your video or multi-point injection which had 139KW

@@maxgal Yeah the 4.O litre fuel injected inline 6 was introduced in the EB series 2. The EA Falcon S pack had a 3.9 multi point fuel injection and with a T5 manual went pretty good. I had a red EA S pack with T5 manual and it ran a 15.5 second down the quarter mile but that was back in year 2OOO when they weren't that old. It was fun to drive as my first car. I wish I never sold it. 👍👍

Keep the XR headlights and put the factory steering wheel back on so you have cruise control again.

Yes, if only. It says something, that I've been happy to find LPG for 95c. Most other servos $1.09, in Brisbane.
@@railtrolley But burns twice as fast as petrol. These days it's not worth installing a new lpg system but ok if the car already has it installed. I've never liked LPG as it turns the Falcons into slugs even when you switch back to petrol.

I think he was meaning the third party insurance which is part of the cost of rego which covers costs if you hit a pedestrian.
