I never had the warm light on my old kindle, but i do not use it on the ipad so I will probably not need it. I think the only thing I'll miss is the self-adjusting light, but this is so worth it!

Hi after the newest update on December 3rd, my 8th gen Kindle fire was not able to charge past 5 percent and eventually just stopped charging at all. I currently have it shut off at 3%. I have tried shutting it off restarting it trying different ports and cables but it isn't able to charge. I am not sure if the update is a coincidence or something but it's last full charge was that day. Do you know anything else that might help?

have you tried resetting your kindle? to reset, press & hold the power/sleep button for 30 seconds. some models may take 40 seconds. hope that you get it to work.
If that wasn't the problem, then the battery might be loose. with something flat like the flat side of a charging brick. Hit around the battery (With not too much force, be careful). Should put your battery back in place. This maybe most likely will get your kindle to work like a charm because it worked for me when what he told me wasnt working, to make sure just plug in the charger and see if it turns on.

hi , i ended up refreshing the 4 solder joints. I then accidentally dropped some solder across the 5 pins, which I then cleaned up with solder braid. actually seems to be charging.Just wondered , if a y of the 5 pins have solder across them what would that do - any safety issues?
Mine turns off immediately once you connect the powered micro usb cable to the tablet's charging port. It doesn't happen if the micro usb cord doesn't have power yet. ANy ideas?
I wish you could fix my tablet it's about 3 years old I got 2019 it charges but it had to charge you the odd angle and don't keep a charge I wish I could send it to you and see if you could maybe fix it

Lol. I fixed mine in 3 minutes. Took the cover off and with a pair of pliers I carefully pressed lightly on the charging port, and now the charging cable fits tight and it is charging correctly.
i don't know if anyone else is having this problem, but i plug my kindle fire hd 10 in and it says its charging but the battery still goes down?? it has no battery life whatsoever, and i pretty much have to leave it plugged in 24/7. I've tried a factory reset, and now it loses battery slower. it didn't fix the problem at all, except for making my fire lose battery slower even though its plugged in. if anyone has advice please help? thanks
Yeah, wish u had mentioned at start of video that SD card needed to be removed, it broke and all data destroyed. The video other wise is very well presented and out together. U may want to update video with a note stating remember to remove SD Card first. Thanks bud was good video, but I did lose all my data on card urg.

most computers and chargers have 5v protection from dead shorts. its working so looks like the tablet has it as well.
Mine turns off immediately once you connect the powered micro usb cable to the tablet's charging port. It doesn't happen if the micro usb cord doesn't have power yet.

I've noticed that with my GF's as well. It will often indicate with the lightning bolt icon that it's charging, but often won't.
