LOL Fake News. Downtown Detroit is beautiful and thriving. I've lived there, went to school there at Wayne State University and worked for General Motors World HQ among 10 other World Headquarters in Downtown Detroit. Keep your Fear Porn. Us Real Detroiters know what's up. They are even rebuilding the old Hudson's building downtown, along with the Shinola Hotel, Ford is rebuilding the iconic and beautiful Train Station from 100 years ago that rivals any in the world and they are moving their Headquarters there along with Compuware, Rocket Mortgage and too many to mention. Not to mention Detroit has invented half the things you all use today and still inventing things like roads in Detroit right now in Corktown charge Electric cars just by driving on them. @@GEN_X_ Real Detroiter umm more like suburban bandwagon jumper who falsely claims to be from Detroit. LOL Wayne State University educated yet cannot fully comprehend a comment. Mike Duggan and the “white” detroit elite are displacing those of colour in detroit. If you want to debate just how corrupt, by all means.
What most people do not realize is just how beautiful detroit was. Before white suburban money tore it down for special interests without disregard to heritage. Tiger Stadium, Hudson Department Store, Detroit museum of art, millionaires row. What they are reviving is a tiny fraction of what once was, and at a fraction of the quality of construction that once was.
But nice try, i will gladly debate you on the subject. Know the history of detroit very well.

Those pictures of Brush Park are not 2022 (First 3 photo compares), that entire area has /is being rebuilt. The house on the corner with the tudor window was completely renovated approx 6 years ago and now there are very few remaining vacant lots there (if any). Homes today there go for well over $1 million. This video is inaccurate, someone took old pictures (60s) and then pictures from probably around 2000 and are claiming they are 2022. What happened to Detroit? Big Business went overseas (for cheap labor), the Unions became non-existent, The RICH folks fled the city leading to other businesses pulling out. And, the poor was left the remains of Detroit. Being poor means no money for food let alone money for upkeep on homes, government housing/apartments replaced once grand homes. Poverty is an ugly circle which is hard to escape. Most large cities are ghost-towns like Detroit. Few such as Chicago and New York have thrived.

I remember like it was yesterday. My cousin David was 6 yrs old.and died from throat cancer. My aunt and uncle were the last Caucasians in the neighborhood. The remaining blacks were friendly enough to a teenager, but I never did know the politics. Why, I still don't know.

The pictures you show of Brush Park and Ransom Gillis House are much older than 2022. Not sure what your you’re trying but Brush Park is completely redeveloped with the old home remodeled. It started in 2015 with Nicole Curtis from Rehab Addict purchasing the Ransom Gillis house and doing complete restoration in 2015. It does not look like what you show supposedly from 2022. Harpo’s is still opened with concerts on a regular basis. Yes there are a lot of rundown neighborhoods but what you show is not really true.

I live in Detroit and yes, most of the city can be found with decaying buildings and facades. But the people who stayed is proud, is a community that will eventually built a society with a strong identity, love for their own, and hopefully one that does not forget what it is taking to get out of the hole caused by racism and law-protected segregation.
