Detroit: Evolution of a City An interactive look at the growth, decline, and revival of the city of Detroit through historic and present-day pictures.
At least Deeeeetriot is going back to nature! City of open fields and vacant lots!
Many nights spent raving in that old Eastown Theater. RIP old building.

Integration doesn't work. After the white people leave; this is usually what you're left with.
Kto wykonuję ten piękny utwór? Jeśli ktoś wie to proszę o odpowiedź
let’s be honest we all know why detroit sucks now…
Didn't look like they "built this country" in those photos. Built, destroyed. TomATEtoes, tomAUTOs. You know, the thing
This is old material, things have changed it needs to be updated
Especially the title card. It shows the Eastown Theater and says 2020. That building was torn down in 2015.
This is what happens after generations of a class of people that have the " I am owed something " mentality.
Feeling very bad
Detroit needs more DO NOT LITTER signs !
That's their culture. It's what they do.
While democrats and the media try to tell you republicans are racists, this is what democrats policies do to cities and people. Keep believing other people are the problem when this is what you vote for. My dad is glad for getting drafted in 1967 to get out of this crap.
I'm loud and obnoxious, I make music that rhymes. I'm 13% of the population, but commit half the crimes- who am I?
Askthenazi
Crime is committed in rural and exurban areas of the country due to heroin, fentanyl, methamphetamine (labs) and opioid abuse. Don't act like it's only happening in urban areas. Most of the mass murders and school shootings are a white thing as well.
@@egyptwasblack2 them too 🤣
I look around and see all of this strife and then I go on Wikipedia and check "early life".
When the assembly line started, Henry Ford paid everybody the same wage if you worked on whatever job black or white Mexican or whatever I find that to be very pioneering of this. Great Michigan native.
Downtown Detroit is making a slow positive transformation. New construction everywhere.
😆😂
This is propaganda. I live on Alfred street in a brand new condo development. Nicole Curtis restored the Ransom Gillis house on a 2015 Episode of Rehab Addict. The Ransom Gillis House shown in 2022 is totally inaccurate!!!
Man... this is sad.
Only shows riot-related before/after's.
a "certain race" shows what it does with freedom
A certain race and creed commited near complete genocide upon the indigenous tribes of the "New World"...and nearly caused the extinction of native bison which they used for food, shelter, and clothing. How patriotic!!
@@ph1sts And then they built and created. What's your point?
Je trouve que c'est bien mieux maintenant 👍
Vive la bombe atomique !!! 😂😂🤣😂😂🤣😂🤣🤣😂😂😂😂😂
The only place that USSR still not collapsed just stopped in time.
Before apes invasion
It was a beautiful city with a lot of comfort in terms of housing and amenities, the residents lived on a higher level than many residents of the former Soviet Union!!! The average age of the inhabitants of the city of Prybyat was 27!!!
Human's are like locusts. We come in, use up the resources and then leave it in shambles.
Crazy how hideous nature ruined everything.
The communist bastards have gone, & now NATURE has taken over.
thx for a nice comparison vid💋
We the first gen to not have as much as are past family. An if your fam greedy you don't get s#!+
This is what happens when people think they are entitled to be handed things they didn’t earn. EVERYONE has some kind of struggle. EVERYONE is fighting some kind of battle. EVERYONE has been on the receiving end of the bad parts of human nature. We all need to love and respect everyone and stop blaming others for the bad choices we made in life.
Oh really? We were handed this nation via thievery and trickery...and that sure ain't "earning it"!!
I like that kind of architecture. I like how the streets are very large and the large spaces and squears.
Thats Pripyat, not the city of chernobyl
Proud to be born in the Motor City! 1959
The pictures you show of Brush Park and Ransom Gillis House are much older than 2022. Not sure what your you’re trying but Brush Park is completely redeveloped with the old home remodeled. It started in 2015 with Nicole Curtis from Rehab Addict purchasing the Ransom Gillis house and doing complete restoration in 2015. It does not look like what you show supposedly from 2022. Harpo’s is still opened with concerts on a regular basis. Yes there are a lot of rundown neighborhoods but what you show is not really true.
He's got a lot of old outdated pictures. This video would have made sense ten years ago, not today.
5:56 am in Florida ñow built in Detroit in 53. Deacones on Jefferson . Fond memories,we miss those days, show me more, thanks 🙏@ 13375 longview 😮
Black lives matter right? Even back in the day
una ripulita e un taglio piante e torna nuova
When McMillan almost got cut up by the propeller when the chopper crashed
How Sad.
The prosperity established on slavery over black people does not last long, and this is an example
There was no slavery in Detroit, nor in the Northern States. This is what happened when people from the South came to Detroit.
Prosperity only existed for the rich plantation owners. The poor white confederate folk fought and died for them in the Civil War. Now they worship a New York Yankee carpetbagger and wanna-be autocratic ruler.
@@Anna-tt6mhDetroit was the next to last stop of the underground railway before escaped slaves entered Canada.
@@ph1sts Yes I know. They helped black people not enslaved them.
Detroit helped black people thru the underground railroad, not enslaved them.
What an incredible video, superior job contrasting the past with current day! I will look for more.
Well once you go black you never get your city and prosperity back, well done America.
That is not what happened to Detroit. Most whites left the city because of an increasing amount of homes up for sale in their neighborhoods were eating up their homes' equity. Those who waited too long had to rent their property out, or in many cases...commit arson on Devil's Night.
Those poor people. They had no idea the evil that would befall them and their children and grandchildren.
Pretty good now.. a lot of green.. this is what human actually need.. not just concrete.
But it looks awful! A nice city turned into a forest!
Its like there was a zombie apocalypse in Detroit this is very sad but if gets fixed there must be a museum abt the past so ppl don’t do it ever again.
The ransom Gillis house was totally rehabbed, there was a tv show about it
Yes… Nicole Curtis from HGTV’s Rehab Addict restored the house in 2015. The photo he claims is from 2022 is probably from early 2000’s.
People wondering how post nuclear war world would look like. Don't have to look far, already have here on earth
Incredible. A masterpiece for us nostalgia fans, thank you.
Nothing lasts forever. Everything is dust. Be humble.
Interessante como grandes árvores, vegetações em geral, nasceram no meio de lugares já pavimentados.
