The CWT has a reputation of being very tough in the UK. The moment you hike outside of the UK, you realize how 'tough can be much, much tougher.' As for the gaiters, l'd say your feet will sweat a lot in them, especially when also wearing boots (thus your feet will also get wet, probably not as much as when wearing trail shoes only, but certainly wet from your sweat). Now, the difference is when wearing trail running shoes, your feet will 'breathe' well. Every time they get wet, they also get rinsed (it's more hygienic, l'd say). Let me set the expectations right: with or without boots, l'd say you have very minimal chances of keeping your feet dry during the entire CWT. Yes, The CWT is very easy in that regard. There are many places where you can send your resupplying boxes, just ask the different business. Otherwise, you can also buy food as you go along. We sent our resupply boxes to and bought food from (in order of different locations going NOBO): - Kintail: "Kintail Lodge Hotel" (we stayed there 1 night) took our resupply box. The great people at Kintail Craft shop took my resupply box when doing the "Scottish National Trail" (they sell food in the shop, too): th-cam.com/video/eoDiFLVmlYg/w-d-xo.html - Kinlochewe: You can send a resupply box to the post office but l, like many others before me, received the worst treatment ever. My only bad experience in Scotland so far! Alternatively, you can send your box to the Lodge. You can buy (basic) food at the gas station (sandwiches, cookies, enough to feed yourself only, not to make a decent resupply). - Ullapool: You have everything you need (mostly) at Ullapool. Last time l was there doing the SNT l struggled to find dry food. Other than that, you have supermarkets and at least 1 hiking shop (if not 2). - Oykel Bridge: "Oykel Bridge Hotel" accepted our parcel even when the hotel was closed due to COVID. They have 'bothy rooms' that are very well priced. Great people! - Kinlochbervie: "London store" is a grocery shop which took our resupply parcel. There is also a SPAR supermarket in Kinlochbervie. The B&B where we stayed "No.125" would also accept your resupply box. They are top class people and will make you a wonderful Scottish breakfast! Hope this helps. Consider subscribing/donating/sharing... you know, just some sort of support 😉Good luck with your CWT adventure!💪

Nice chatting with you mate. I hope you two got back safe. ATB!
@@alwaysforwardyt you on your way home?
@@nadimamin3382 Yes, l came back to take my 'cold weather' sleeping bag. l'll back on the trail on Friday!
is there any way to resupply on the trail?
Yes, The CWT is very easy in that regard. There are many places where you can send your resupplying boxes, just ask the different business. Otherwise, you can also buy food as you go along. We sent our resupply boxes to and bought food from (in order of different locations going NOBO):
- Kintail: "Kintail Lodge Hotel" (we stayed there 1 night) took our resupply box. The great people at Kintail Craft shop took my resupply box when doing the "Scottish National Trail" (they sell food in the shop, too): th-cam.com/video/eoDiFLVmlYg/w-d-xo.html
- Kinlochewe: You can send a resupply box to the post office but l, like many others before me, received the worst treatment ever.
