We built our house in 2017 and had TV outlet cables put in all the bedrooms and lounges etc. By 2019 these were redundant as everything runs in the WIFI system. We'd have been better off installing a Cat6 backbone and WiFi boosters in each floor from Day 1.

I've been thinking about your floor tiles. You know if you're not happy with the mottled ones you can have a flat color such as royal blue, white or bottle green, etc. You'd need to love that color though. I'm a designer and can tell you also have a knack for seeing how things would look.

Do you know what "festa da cumieira" - or "cumeeira" - is? It is the party when the roof of the house is finished and the house becomes ready to have people inside. It is a Brazilian/Portuguese expression and celebration for the completion of the ridge of the house. I hope you can join the tradition and have a wonderful party!

Unfortunately not. We used a pump truck when the veranda was being built but access on the rest of the house is too narrow to put out the stabilising feet for the pump truck.
Even with low Portuguese wages, renting a pump and getting redimix delivered seems a more economic way of pouring those tie beams. And would speed the project up significantly. Doesn't seem like anyone really cares so long as the crew is paid?
If I work in the kitchen and feel in need of energy I play Johan Strauss. The music energizes me!
It is a colloidal job ,but the house will be marvelous when it is finished.The men certainly work very hard.Always look forward to seeing the garden.
