Brother, I'm a grown man in my late 30s, I've played the game three times over the years and that scene with Joel and Sarah emotionally wrecks me every time. The voice acting, the animations, atmosphere, thinking they've gotten to safety only to be heartbroken, it's so expertly made. You are in for such a treat if you can play this and its sequel, I can't wait to watch you feel it all. Cheers!
@@cnizzle9575although yes it may not be up to par with the first one. i still think there is a really good story told and it’s worth a full play-through. Especially if you like the characters in the first one enough. you should give it another chance if you haven’t done so yet.
@@kloud. i played it and didn’t like it, a lot of forgettable and forced characters, i even bought the remaster just for the new gamemode and still havent touched the storymode in it
Tips/suggestions: 1) Don't think of the game like you would an open world like RDR2. Naughty Dog games are beautiful but pretty linear. You can search for materials in the general area you're in, however large or small. Just remember that unlike a RDR2 the world isn't seemingly endless. So if you ever feel stuck or lost know that the path or solution is somewhat near by. Their goal is to deliver the story first and foremost, then adding fun gameplay around that story so it will kind of lead you forward the entire time. 2) I'd turn on aim assist in the settings. Remember, there is no set difficulty or way to play. Play on the essiest level with all the help they offer if that's what gives you a better experience. I assure you that they will not leave anything out even at the easier difficulties. All plot points, enemies and materials are present in all difficulty levels. All that changes is the ease at which enemies go down. Whatever makes the experience betted for you is the options and difficulty level you should use. Set up the aiming/look speed and such to whatever you like. 3) There is not a massive amount of materials and such in tje early game. If you don't see a prompt within a few feel of an area there likelly isn't anything to grab there. They want the world to have limited materials such as ammo so it's not unusual to walk into an encounter with five 9mm rounds, a brick and a bat, haha. 4) Finally, you can sometimes go around an enemy but at times the only way to go is through them or killing them. In all instances you can use stealth or world objects to help you. Be it throwing a brick to distract an enemy/lure them away from you to things like stealth kills. You can clear out entire rooms of enemkes with zero bullets if you desire that route. Your intuitions are keen, haha. You'll get the hang of it if you stick with it. I gua-run-tee!
Great comment. Mojave seems to enjoy looting. He's gonna love this, isn't he? This game is really a "thinker's game" IMO. It rewards understanding the details of how your various enemies behave and your different weapons work. For example, experimenting with bricks and bottles will reveal more uses for them.

He asks about ammo but I don’t think he pays attention because there was 6 rounds on the stairs that popped up on his screen he just kept walking 😂. I would describe the Last of Us as having the spacial structure of a simple maze. Any time you see a fork in your path, you want to check the "fake path" or "blind alley" for loot before carrying on through the actual route. This structure is actually a little simpler than it at first appears.

Hearing you say stuff like "this is awesome" after having just started the game really makes me happy. You're about 12 episodes in by the time of me writing this comment so by now you probably know just how awesome this game is. The story is one thing, but the world-building and attention to detail? Really helps selling the immersion.
Wow this is GREAT! The Last Of Us is one of my favourite games ever. Glad to see you play it. This game is a masterpiece just like Red Dead Redemption 2
I haven’t played this game but I have heard that it’s a really great story game like RDR2, So it’s going to be really fun to watch it for the first time on the best TH-cam channel.
Mojave I wanna give you some tips. This is a survival game as you can tell, you should manage your ammo and resources well. You can sneak through multiple areas without fighting or without using ammo. There will be optional loot and areas you can find so look around the areas you're in, don't rush through. Items will be highlighted. Listen to the characters or you might miss something. Remember hold R1 to enter listen mode and see enemies through walls. You can grab enemies and use them as body shields. You can also restart an encounter or from a checkpoint if you don't like how you played. I recommend using a mix a melee and ranged attacks, you can shoot someone and then punch them to finish the job. There's also no auto aim from what I know. There will be some problem solving and strategizing so use that brain you got.
Items, doors, or anything else you interact with will have a circle prompt when you're near it and a triangle prompt when you're even closer. You don't need to click on a door a bunch if nothing pops up.
@@mojaved2167There is a BUNCH of accessibility options,so id take a look at those as well as the “tutorials” section on the menu. And there is auto-aim which will make shooting much easier.Joel will automatically lock on,and you can also adjust the strength of it as well if you still want some aim control.
this is the 2022 remake of the 2013 game, it's pretty much the same as the original in every aspect except that the graphics are better. However, it's worth noting the original had some of the best graphics I've seen in game and holds up very well even today, and probably did not need a remake but it's alright because the remake looks great too!
I've never had a Playstation, so I never played this. But I have watched play-throughs of it before, and I have to say, it is the best game I never played. Such a great story, great acting, everything.
Not sure if anyone answered this yet but, while this game is older (came out in 2013), the version you are playing is the remake (which came out in 2022)! They basically redid the whole game with better graphics, combat, and just quality of life updates, which is why it looks so good! Definitely looking forward to this playthrough!
Hey there. Youre doing a nice job saving ammo. A nice trick is to throw a brick or empty bottle directly on the enemy and finish him with meelee attacks. To do that, you dont need to aim and throw, just hold the item and look at the enemy, there should be a circle on their head and then you just press R2. Followed by runing towards them and tapping square to attack while they are still stunned. This will alert their group, but it will kill most enemies in the game, specially if you're holding a meelee weapon (which breaks in a few hits).
This is a linear game so youre always heading in the right direction. Dont worry about being lost, and you can always explore each small area youre in. Youll get used to subtle clues on which way is forward like points of interest, different lighting or paint marks etc. look for the yellow thing is often a good rule of thumb as the directional hint
WOW! You're actually playing The Last of Us! I remember requesting you to play this when you were still in Chapter 3 of RDR2. I didn't think you would get into the series this early! Although this game isn't open-world like RDR, I promise you the story makes up for it. I remember playing this game back in 2013 and even to this day I can't get past the prologue because it still tears me up. My advice for this game is to *take your time* with the gameplay. It's not like RDR where the action is in your face. You're going need to utilize stealth and the *listening mode* as much as you can. That what makes this game special; since you already noticed how scarce ammo is in this game, you gonna have to think and strategize against the enemies with the limited resources that you have. So don't worry about feeling rushed. Take your time and roam around. look for material for crafting before moving on to the next checkpoint. Slow is smooth but smooth is fast :) I hope you enjoy the game!

I loved your channel, so I watched the whole RDR2 gameplay and just finished the RDR1 yesterday. For real, I’m loving watching you play as nearly a daily routine, and I’m so hyped to watch you play The Last of Us 1, its DLC and 2.
Lots of love from Brazil 🇧🇷 ❤
YESSS HES PLAYING SUCH A GOOD STORY GAMR
Must have played this game dozens of times since the original release and the intro STILL gets me... f*cking onions
MojaveD, stealthy, patient gameplay is imo best in this game. Its so much fun!
it’s better when
minor spoiler
you get the bow and get it upgraded
@@enthusiasticallydry couldn't agree more!🏹
I've never been so excited for someone to play this before! You are in for one hell of a ride Mojave! Still here watching! Hope you and your family are well! :)
Extremely anxious and excited for more of this series, this is currently my favorite TH-cam channel, a hug from a fan from Brazil
Hearing you say stuff like "this is awesome" after having just started the game really makes me happy. You're about 12 episodes in by the time of me writing this comment so by now you probably know just how awesome this game is. The story is one thing, but the world-building and attention to detail? Really helps selling the immersion.
I’m so glad you popped up on my feed! This was so much fun to watch❤
The Last of Us is simply my favorite game!
Glad to see you playing
Wow this is GREAT! The Last Of Us is one of my favourite games ever. Glad to see you play it. This game is a masterpiece just like Red Dead Redemption 2
This is my favorite game ever and it means a lot to me personally. Getting to re-experience it from your perspective is really special. Thank you!
I haven’t played this game but I have heard that it’s a really great story game like RDR2, So it’s going to be really fun to watch it for the first time on the best TH-cam channel.
My dad sort of gave up on life after many family traumatic events. He saw your video, started playing games and began to laugh again 😀😀
Thank you spacecowboy
Not sure if he has listen mode yet 🤔 I think it comes later if I remember right?
@@mackat7865he does, you use it when you first encounter spores. The room with two runners.
@@mojaved2167There is a BUNCH of accessibility options,so id take a look at those as well as the “tutorials” section on the menu. And there is auto-aim which will make shooting much easier.Joel will automatically lock on,and you can also adjust the strength of it as well if you still want some aim control.
Don’t be worrying abour difficulty setting. We’re not here for that. We are here for you and the story!
this is the 2022 remake of the 2013 game, it's pretty much the same as the original in every aspect except that the graphics are better. However, it's worth noting the original had some of the best graphics I've seen in game and holds up very well even today, and probably did not need a remake but it's alright because the remake looks great too!
This and part 2 are going to be amazing playthroughs, love this channel!
I've never had a Playstation, so I never played this. But I have watched play-throughs of it before, and I have to say, it is the best game I never played. Such a great story, great acting, everything.
This is about to be good
I like how during the car ride with Sarah, he doesn’t move the camera once lol.
8:48 lmfao 🤣 funny as heck man
😂😂😂💗
Not sure if anyone answered this yet but, while this game is older (came out in 2013), the version you are playing is the remake (which came out in 2022)! They basically redid the whole game with better graphics, combat, and just quality of life updates, which is why it looks so good! Definitely looking forward to this playthrough!
YESSSS IVE WANTED THIS FOR SO LONG
indeed is waiting too
@@nihal7967 stop searching for my comments 😂
Slow is smooth but smooth is fast :)
I hope you enjoy the game!
As a gamer since the first Mario Bros in the 80's, I'm here for this sir. Joel and Ellie...Let's Go!
OMG, it's happening, it's happening, MojaveD is playing Last Of Us! I can't belive it
You are so much the best gamer. I like your struggle when playing games (I'm an old man), even on that easiest setting, so it's refreshing to see someone at the same level as me. Keep posting, please!!!!
Such a good game...intro still gets me
Mojave D, truly thank you for starting this game. You have no idea how genuinely stoked I am to see you play this game. You're so close to 100k subscribers and this will get you the rest of the way.
27:00 i first got into this game around 2014/2015 and all these years later the sarah scene still makes me emotional
What an amazing 70 years old. Im enjoying the video so far. Keep up the good work.👏👏👏👏😄
From 2 heart shattering games to two more heart shattering games. MojveD you are a warrior
Watching you experience this story is giving this game new life for me. Keep making content. It’s really awesome!
Hello dear sir, that's very nice to see a senior respecting and enjoying the video game media. That game is very strong emotion-wise, and probably one of my favourite games of all time. I hope you will have a great time discovering it.
30 seconds into hearing you speak…let me get my popcorn and enjoy watching you play this incredible game.
oh my god, found this channel and I’m enjoying this so much lol😂 This is great and I love the fact that elderly people play as well. I don’t see much of that and I can’t wait til you finish this!
This is game is awesome please do a full playthrough!
He must! Part 2 after 1! 😊
already excited about part 2 😅
Looking forward to the next episode! I know it can be frustrating for you when you don't know where you're going or happen to miss a prompt, but it's all good! It doesn't frustrate us watching you, it's great 😊 keep doing what you're doing. Really enjoyed that 😊👍🏻 thanks
THANKS FOR LISTENING TO MY RECOMMENDATION YOU'RE GONNA LOVE THIS 😭😭🙏
Let’s go! I haven’t seen a video from you since you passed rdr2, feels like months lol

Im honestly so happy that you're gonna experience this truly amazing story
I love how this man absorbs every single thing in this game
Oh boy what a ride you're gonna be in for Mojave! For me this is the only other game I've played that's on the same realm as the Red Dead games.
Welcome to the game that absolutely changed my life ❤ Everything about this game is stunning - visuals, music, storyline… So glad I get to experience your first play through!
Mojave you will love this story!
I’m so happy this popped up in my recommended, I already love this guy.
Even in other games, he somehow goes straight to the wanted posters
it never gets easier seeing the beginning of this game. even after 10 years.
holy god I didn't expect you to play this masterpiece‚ a long adventure awaits you so good at the rdr2 level
Well, this game isn't that long. It has less than 15 hours of gameplay
"The army, thank god." When i heard that my heart sank ❤😢
The HBO tv series based on this game is superb. I recommend you watch it after finishing the game.
Really, a tv series...
@@mojaved2167 yup, games are coming onto screens now. A similar thing happened with Fallout, although it was mostly lore-based rather than game story-based.
It's an alright series, but I think it's better to watch after finishing both games. The 2nd season will come next year, so you have some time.
Other examples would be The Witcher (based on The Witcher series), or Arcane (animation, based on League of Legends).
@@mojaved2167 YES!! it's a masterpiece and really follows the game well and expands the universe of the game a bit more. I HIGHLY suggest watching it after your playthrough! Maybe a watch party with chat?
This man hates lumber! Loving your reactions. Looking forward to watching your whole playthrough!
I'm so excited to see this series on the channel! My jaw dropped in excitement when I saw this upload, thanks for the birthday gift!

Actually you are one of the only TH-camrs that helps us under the story so well!!! I’ve played and watched this game over and over again but this was entertaining to watch! Keep it up!! I think you can reach great places
More please!! Favorite game and favorite youtuber, what a combo!!!
rcently found the channel. loving the playthrough so far! I'm going to finish this series. truly amazing game, it's a bittersweet thing to see someone else experience the highs and lows
