Eli! You have explained so much to this newbie to C1. You covered a broad selection of fine adjustments - all of which I need to know so thx very much. I can now get to editing using your techniques.. Subscribed of course:)
Hey Eli, Hope you well! I really like your videos about Capture one but where did you editing all the images before Capture one ? Because they definitely were retouching before.
Thanks, Enrique! There has been no retouching done before. I believe what's confusing you is I use off-camera flash to give my images the pop before I begin editing.
What’s the difference with adding a filled layer and using color editor picker as opposed to first using the color picker and choosing create mask from the 3 dots? Great video!
Thanks Eli for sharing. Always enjoy watching and learning from others. I am a long time user of C1 (since V6) and concurrently use LR/PS. I can complete about 90% of my images in C1 and really only need PS for big cloning and cleanups. The combination of layers, luma range and color editor really make this a powerful efficient tool. For Fujifilm users LR produces lots of wormy artifact and big files. Keep up the good work.
My Nikon D800 has tremendous dynamic range also. With a little work, I can bring up usable photos out of almost black images. They're not perfect, but usable. That's especially true in photojournalism.
fantastic tutorial. Just pulled the trigger on a capture one subscription and this was super helpful in getting to know more of the tools in the program. I'm a fuji shooter and the raw files handle so much better in this program than lightroom. Excited to explore how much more of the editing workflow I can do in capture one before i drop into photoshop for retouching.
I love capture one 💕 thank you I would like to watch another video on how you edit the skin colour and tone in there.. Its the best program for correcting skin tone.. 😍
Hi Eli! I purchased your actions and I wanted to thank you for the video that came with them! I am so glad you made this video to explain the actions and I hope you always do that as Its important for people to use them correctly for the best outcome. I also wanted to thank you for introducing me to Capture one!
No has pensado en grabar vídeos de capture one en español , sería fantástico ya que no hay mucho en español y como tú explicas es a todo dar. Felicidades
Nice video, thanks for showing all the tips. I am trying C1 20 Pro to see what it has to offer compared to LR. I am stuck at something basic, like how to fix stray hair. Any ideas.
@gids sonix Use whatever software that works best for you. Keep in mind the photo is what matters most. Post-processing isn't going to make a bad photo look good. :)
Do you have a video that shows how to save the layers so that we can apply the same settings for all shots during a session? Thanks for the lesson. RGV!!
Yes LR is so out of date, and is so 2000's... lol I switched to CO for Sony. EXCELLENT program, for the end user and has a lot of great features. GREAT video btw.
Is Capture just for "adjustments" or can you clone or take out stuff like the light modifier that gets caught n the photo? I really love how precise you can be with your adjustments! Great tutorial as always.
This was very timely, I have had Capture 1, for about a month and have been frustrated trying to find a good tutorial, this is by far the best. I bought a book that wasn't nearly as helpful, it covered mostly organization. I have a good organization system that work for me so I am only interested in actually editing images which is exactly what this tutorial does.
@@BeaPhotographerlessons Hi Ben, I do a lot of wildlife, some models, some landscapes. I have watched a lot of Phlearn tutorials, some PiXimperfect, most of Eli Infante's, a lot of Rafy's, I enjoy compositing. I have watched quite a few on lighting, mostly Daniel Norton, but I really like the lighting in Eli's images and his editing. I like tutorials that get to the point, PiXimperfect talks a little too much. I have the paid subscription to Phlearn, Aeron Nace is easy to listen to and he has some good compositing tutorials and retouching ones. I have watched a lot of other tutorials but these are the ones I like.
@@BeaPhotographerlessons Most are editing/retouching, but a fair amount are lighting. I watched one of your capture one tutorials and thought it was pretty good, For photshop Eli's are great, he assumes the viewer is familiar with photoshop so it moves along, I really like the skin tones and colors that Eli gets, part of it is in the shooting, a lot of his IG posts have the shooting details which is great, then he spends a lot of time in photoshop and camera raw which rally bring out the tones and colors. In the past I used most of the tools but went overboard and really ruined the images, he keeps it subtle. I haven't used capture one much so I appreciate the details. Rafy is great for composites, he doesn't talk but if someone is familiar with photoshop it's easy enough to follow along. Phlearn is also good for compositing. A lot of tutorials just take short cuts, but I would rather spend the time and get a few really good images than a lot of ok ones. Since I started watching Eli's tutorials I start in capture one, make small adjustments in Exposure, High Dynamic Range Color Balance and Skin tone, and then export it to Photoshop and follow Eli's tutorial, though it seems that Eli usually does all of his color adjustments in Photoshop and Camera Raw.
I forget. three hundred something. In any case, I did the 30 day trial then bought Capture one, but the trial page kept trying to charge me a second time. C1 was ver helpful, but we couldn't get around the payment issue, so they refunded my payment. I'm going to buy it again because I really like the program, but no more 30 day trial. I'll just buy it. C1 did work with me as best they could. I think I messed up by buying it outside of the trial program, & the trial didn't see that.
Hello my friend, do you use Capture One with your Sony a7 VI? I just received my a74 but for some reason the the camera disconnect while shooting tether. Have you experienced this issue?
Wonderfull :-) thank you ..but just one thing : when you pull up the sensitivity without pushing up the radius, it s not doing anything, isn t it ? For sure ;-)...Bests regards from Colmar, FR...JF
Nice flash work! Really nice. Thanks for the tips of using local levels to emulate or strengthen flash look, very neat! I use C1 20 too and I love it. The new HDR tool with the added white and black in combo with high and lowlight recovery is something that takes a bit of getting to know and how it works. Its not just the recovery of high and low lights but also how the roll off is going to look and the general look of smoother look or contrasty and snappier look. Almost like having different camera looks from one and same camera. Its almost too good ; )
Nice one brother, can you please help me out with this issue? I downloaded the caption_one_pro and install but all the options are not working I can't adjust anything on it. Please can you help me out?
Hi Eli, downloaded your action pack a few days ago... loving the tutorials.😬 can you advise me on the process of exporting pic from Capture one to photoshop? I am currently exporting as a 16bit tiff uncompressed Adobe RGB at 300 res but I still seem to be losing the sharpness when in photoshop. Even the tiff variant created in Capture one has quality loss compared to the original ARW file. Help please... 🙏
Hey Eli: i think you've got a mistake. When you select the Luma Range, the sensitivity slider doesn't work if the radius is set to 0. Thanks for your video.

Thanks Travis! I have more Capture One tutorials coming soon. Is there anything in specific you would like to see?
Just Made the switch from LR to CO. Super good tutorial to get me moving in using CO. Thanks.
Great to hear!
I'm a recently C1 believer. But, I'm still working with the trial for C1 20 Pro. This was a helpful tutorial!

I appreciate the feedback! What was helpful in your mind?
C1-21 seems to have better color than other editing software programs. And, the images are sharper than Lightroom.
I agree!

Agree Steve! I love the flexibility of C1

Hi Eli, thanks for the tutorial videos, it's been so helpful 🙏🏽, hmm don't u think I could do this in PS, the selective color thing.
You can of course in Photoshop. Keep in mind that I'm doing those changes at the RAW level which is great.
