I can’t pick a favorite because I learned something new with them all! You are a fantastic teacher! I’m liking Capture One more and more after watching these!
A much faster way to accomplish a better masking of the bright blue sky on the first image… 1. Notice that the sky is almost exclusively the only point of blue highlights in the image… 2. Think advanced color editor and use it for the blues, 3. Convert the color selection from 2. to a mask if you need to, and you have full masking tools, e.g. eraser to remove ares like the white shirt from the mask… done masking!
Thanks Eli for a good video. Although I am one of those enthusiastic amateurs I've found Capture One to be my go-to Raw editor for many of the reasons you stated. For the past 4-5 months I've been using Speed Edits. As you pointed out, staying focused on the image while editing, rather than looking back and forth from the sliders to the display is fantastic. With that said I understand why many would not want to use that feature because of the many hotkeys, you need to remember. My solution was to purchase an Elgato Stream Deck. After setting it up all the hotkeys are assigned to a specific key that I labeled, for example, Contrast, then I hold down that key and Speed Edit. For us amateurs who don't use a program so often, hotkeys can easily be forgotten. The Stream Deck ( there are other similar devices) solved that problem for me.
Great video thanks Eli, love the customized workspace, especially the 3 curves! One note I've taken from others is in the Advanced Color Editor I make sure to click the "Span Full Color Saturation" button at the bottom and then extending the "pie's wings" to make sure I'm getting all color in the sky (or skin). Cheers man, love your channel :)
Hi, I've just purchased capture one pro 2023. I'm completely new to it. If possible, could you produce a video showing us how you edit a portrait from start to finish with a list of the exact order of operations you use to achieve the finished edit and why you work in that sequence of operations rather than another work flow? Thanks 🙏
Hi Eli. Wondering, what is the video link to Capture One 22 style brush? I am new to capture one. And learning so, much from you. This tutorial is well put together. I am understanding Capture One better now.
Hi Eli, I have a question I am doing mostly e-commerce photography when I shoot models at that time How much clarity should be needed, and how much sharpening should be needed how much should the structure be? will you suggest it to me?
Thanks for the tips to help speed up workflow. I noticed that under the library tab you have your catalog with the session folders listed. Do you have a video showing how to set that up?
Sir i didn't even know that you have a youtube channel like i came to know that my friend told that sir has youtube channel and i also subscribed and started watching all videos
You're deliberately making manual masking harder. It's not easy, and it's time consuming, but it's not as bad as you showed. * Personally, I can't remember all the so-called shortcuts. I have to look them up on a cheat sheet, which is a lot more time consuming than using sliders. So, I don't use the longcuts. And, I think using sliders, curves, etc. is more accurate.

@@EliInfante are there any skin retouching techniques that can be done in Capture One instead or PS?

Yes I can! More than likely in a few months
@@EliInfante yes, please.
I think I would misst LR AI selections, they are insanely powerful. Great vid👍
Yeah I agree! Hopefully Capture One gets a similar feature in the future.

I would be very subtle with it. I don't do too much when I do client work. Thanks for asking Mohd :)
Teach us, master 🙏🏽

I appreciate it Jeff! As of right now I don’t have a video on sessions or catalogs just yet. Im thinking I can do it in my next video. 😁

Why use auto mask when a luma range would have been more efficient (beginning of video)?
You could boss! Thank you for the suggestion.

@@EliInfante I have no idea what it means but but I know it's awesome everytime

@@EliInfante I see. In French, it's "la totale"
Brooooooooooo
Capture One FTW!
Btw… Brightness makes no difference in your example… it acts on midtones, and you have none in the bright sky
Thank you!
