Just replaced my 98 M3 steering with a used 97 m3 steering with clock spring. It seems the M3 clock spring have different wiring than non-M3. Both year only have one single wire that connects onto the airbag. once the steering is removed there is also only one single wire from the clock spring that connects onto the wire under the steering column. Your video help make this job very easy.
You probably haven't run into this problem but I have a clock spring on my m3 steer wheel that doesn't show the 3 screws for removal is it just a cover sitting on top of the screws or am I just going insane
I want to put a older clock spring on my newer/later model steering wheel basically but the screws are nowhere to be seen unless they are under a cover and I just didn't want to break the newer clock spring Incase I can't replace it with the older one
Are you suppose to centre the slip ring before refitting, so you don't tear the wire ribbon inside the casing? I didn't know this when I destroyed my first slip ring replacement.

Thanks very much for this. I need to do this job on my now very squeaky E31.
nice job. I think you would renew steering and seat leathers, they are really mess.
Thanks for sharing this video. My turn signal doesnt cancel in both direction on my E38, would a replacement of the clock spring fix the issues?

good tutorial. but man that car is worked! i'm surprised you didn't just take out the airbags and remove the clock spring all together :)
Where can I get those t10 screws I’m in dire need.
how much the clock spring ?
Thank bro
Your fathers got a bad habit of treating this e36 like garbage
