    The glorious pushrod LT2 engine may only rev to 6500, but it'll pull like crazy from 1,900.

    Would we have a option for the car dealer to leave it in left hand drive because it looks more og and I can’t imagine it in right hand drive.

    6800 was a balance the engineers found between horsepower and torque, with this specific engine. More led to tire bleed and less torque, while impacting speed and handling. We have made huge strides in tweaking the two, and believe we have solved this issue with the z06. We increased output, Increasing front end weight and changing certain input measures to give not only an improved nought to 60, yet also delivering a higher rev range. I can’t disclose final performance numbers, however, it’s in the low 9 range. Thanks for the feed back!

    GM have confirmed that the C8 Stingray will be factory built RHD & the 2LT will start from $120k AUD & the 3LT will start from $130k AUD
    GM have already built a RHD which is black but sadly the first C8 to arrive here in Australia won’t be until last 2021 as a show car only. The first purchase C8 won’t be until the 2022 model around March 2022 at the earliest

    I want the corvette c8 so badly. But Idk if it will happen. Should I buy the camaro and then switch to the c8 when it arrives or just wait?

    • @discovercars
      @discovercars  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hmmm you might be waiting until late 2021 for a C8 at the earliest. If you can’t wait then, grab a good deal on run-out Camaros from those Holden dealers closing down.

    You got a remember that to please the purest who most are in actuality people over 60 years old you have to make cars that would have been popular in the 20th century. It’s the 21st century and let the purest be damned!

    396kw is 530hp not 495hp.

    I don’t get it. I thought GM was going to produce three new Corvette in a right hand model. Am I wrong about this?

      They were. But the impact of the current pandemic could alter budgeting and viability of a RHD Corvette from factory.

    If you cut out the conversion price pickups muscle cars Aus will absolutely buy more. Unfortunately Australia is a small market with high wage costs so from my perspective the only way to make them relatively affordable is to do RHD from current factories and ship it internationally. Luckily the C8 is blowing up the internet because that means its much more likely to make it.
    But America seems like its a stones throw from a civil war, so we will see how that pans out.

      Here’s hoping it’s cheaper than we think. Would make for a Cayman killer rather than a 911 competitor.

    1:25 The C8 will do MUCH better than 3.3sec 0-60mph with the Z51 package + a non-crap launch. It'll do 3.0-3.1sec all day on the stock tires, and 2.9sec is EASILY doable solely with different rubbers w/ a bit more grip. Your claimed 2.8sec is a complete fantasy on stock parts thought. The stock tires tap out around the 3sec flat mark.
    3:30 This is because it's a cross-plane pushrod!!! What the hell did people expect?!? The LT2 is NOTHING LIKE the flat plane DOHC engines in other mid-engine super cars, and treating it like such is idiotic. 🤷‍♂️ YOU'LL NEVER GET A 458 TYPE SOUND FROM THE LT2 NO MATTER HOW HIGH IT REVVED!!! 🤦‍♂️
    5:35 The C8 is coming native RHD from the Kentucky, US factory! There is no conversion! Do more research before you post videos!

  • @cenewton3221

    Why would they need to be converted when they are going to be manufacturing RHD versions from the factory for export to the UK and I presume Australia and every other RHD country? Nice video though my friend.

    • @discovercars
      @discovercars  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      For sure. Was unsure whether GM might only send RHD cars to the UK (wouldn't make any sense, but neither does pulling out of all RHD markets).

    That not a entry level c8 , that a 3lt z51 package with z51 spoiler = $85000usd without taxes in Usa , same specs will be $170000 in Australia / lct 33% $23000 . It not as quick without z51 pacakge
