Fun video. I agree Tetras are great. I also went down the rabbit hole with live bearers. Endless Endlers! I put in a predator and removed all the stem plants that were cover. More manageable now. I haven’t gotten pea puffers yet. They are adorable though. They are on my list for a future project.

I wish cardinal tetras were hardier. They just come from the store sick, I always have more deaths than any other tetra. I have a school of 9 but I had to buy 16 over a 3 month period.

Great video, I just got some black neon tetra for my community tank, they look great in there! I haven't looked into them much, and maybe I missed it in another video, but what is the purpose of the bubbler in the tank? Just to break the surface and allow more gas exchange? Or does it add CO2 for your plants? I don't have one, so just curious if I should. Also, just a note, maybe it's just me or my phone, but the music was so loud when you were showing your pea puffers that I couldn't hear what you were saying about them. Still a great video as always! Can't wait for the next.

Correct. Just to break the surface for more oxygen. Plants do provide oxygen during the day. However at night they consume it.
I wasn't saying anything of value during the Pea Puffer clip. I intentionally covered it up so others would be focused on their charisma. Lol

just saw your video on vallisneria and subscribed because you had the exact answer i was looking for. Ive been dosing my tank with flourish liquid fertilizer and i admit my tank doesnt need fertilizer but what do i do now? Water change a couple times with no fertilizers and replace the val? i also have java fern, java moss, and a water lily bulb do any of those have similar issues? thank you

      Thanks for Subscribing Samuel 🤙
Seachem Excell has bio available carbon in it. That targets fast growing plants like Vallisneria and causes them to wither away. It'll effect your moss too. Ferns will remain unharmed.
Not to fear my friend. Your head is in the right place. Couple water changes, stick a few root tabs under your Val to help it bounce back and finally snip off any dead or dying leaves of your Val. Plants cannot heal themselves and unfortunately they're unaware of this. The roots will waste minerals and nutrients by sending to dead parts of the plant. Snip them off and it'll focus on regrowth 🤟

Here's my breakdown of root tabs and how to make your own if you'd like.
