the field research for the Maus is very common, if you don't have stop around you, party quests give you the Pokémon

Tandemaus is also in Party Play challenges, and it looks like the main way (that Niantic is intending) to get that Pokemon currently. Not sure if it will stay in Party Play challenges after this event (hope it does), but yeah, worth partying up during the next few days for more chances.
That sucks. Party play is impossible for me. Got no poke-friends that are players that care enough to do this.

The first mausehold i evolved in pokemon scarlet was a 3. I didnt know it was rare so i boxed it cause it did less damedge with population bomb. It is now a treasure
With my friend We found a method how to speed up catching Tandemaus in two people. The result is that I now have 60 Tandemauses, 16 evolved Mausholds and one Maushold in the form "Family of Three". My friend doesn't have any FoT yet :( We'll try it again tomorrow. I wonder if the probability of evolving is 1 in 100 or 1 in 25.
Here's the procedure:
1) I sat down with my friend at the pokestop and we created/leaved the party until the "Make 10 Nice Curveball Throws" party challenge came up.
2) We both accepted and completed the challenge. The reward is either "Tandemaus" or "Koffing". Statistically, it works out to about 50:50. There are other similar party challenges, but we found this one the easiest to complete.
3) It is advantageous to catch pokemons using the red ball - there is a greater chance of failing to catch them, and you get more "nice throw" per pokemon for the challenge.
4) when catching Tandemaus, I gave it pinap berry and had a mega evolved Lopunny = in the result I got 14 candy for one Tandemaus
5) We put a module in the pokestop, and when we ran out of pokemon nearby, we moved on to the next pokestop.
Give it a try, there's still three days left.
Extra trick: If you have 1-2 more friends, it's a good idea to start a party of two, cast that party challenge, and then add two more friends, because the challenge will remain on difficulty for two, but you can do it with four.
That's an interesting progression, but I found on the internet on leekduck that the party challenge has more as a reward: Tandemaus, Digglet, Magnemite, Koffing.
@@mumajz I'm not saying they got it wrong on that site, but I got 83 Tandemaus, 97 Koffing and nothing else as a reward at the moment, which pretty much matches the 50:50. It's interesting that the easiest quest "Make 10 Nice Curveball Throws" only needs 10 nice throws and the harder ones need 20 great throws. Maybe it's a bad setup by Niantic, because the important reward "Tandemaus" is the same.

The first and only one I evolved is the 3 mausholds. The odd thing is the other Tandemaus I have shows I've never evolved them, it's still grayed out.
its still a shadow because you only have the three form and not the four and if you don't have a specific form it shows as a silhouette

I got 5 shinies today 2 shiny galarian meowth, a shiny hisuian samurott, a shiny binacle, and shiny alolan vulpix so I had the shiny luck today
Tip:
If you go into Pokédex and click on tandemaus, it will say it has 2 evolutions. (One for 4 family, one for 3) meaning if you have evolved a tandemaus into a 4 family, if you get a tandemaus after and the evolve is just a silhouette, it will be a 3 family.

I think the evolution will be grayed out if it can evolve into the 3 maushold instead of the 4 if you dont have it yet, like with shinies where they are also gray even if you have the normal evolution already in the dex

Can confirm. I evolved family of 3 first try. The rest of my tandemaus have grayed out evolutions, so I assume it would work the other way around.
If you want to buy Pokémon cards, don’t buy them in the us, buy them somewhere else like Brasil, where they are almost 2$ instead of 5 (buy them online) 6:43

i think the way that the 3 maushold evolution works is the same as the rockruff dusk form, you could get either a regular rockruff with choice of or midday or midnight form, or you could get a special rockruff with only one possible evolution, the dusk form, so instead of evolving all of your mausholds,seeing as you already have the 4 maushold in the dex, wait until you see an evolution that hasnt registered in your dex :)

The Family of Three has a separate silhouette, you can tell which form it will evolve into before doing it

After you register the Family of Four form in your dex all you have to do is see if the Tandemaus has a silhouette next to the evolution button or not. If it doesn't it will evolve into Family of Four because you have that form registered in you dex. If it does have a silhouette it will evolve into Family of Three because you haven't registered that form yet. No need to waste candies to figure it out.
That's not true! maushold silhouette will always show 4, the only way to know it is evolving it. I know it's weird, but this is the only pokemon that does it. Maybe niantic will change it in the future

@@PoolKid75 niantic confirmed it after tandemaus was released because hardcore players were trying to use that technique, but people reported evolving mouseholds with the 4 silhouette and get the version with 3 mouses. Plus, there doesn't exist real reports from people seeing the 3 silhouette
Question: Wouldn’t it show in the evolution button for Tandemaus if the Tandemaus caught has the Fanily of Three Maushold Evolution???
If so, wouldn’t that mean that all you’d need to do is catch Tandemaus until you find THE one with the grayed out evolution????

If you look at the Pokédex for it it shows two different silhouettes. Look carefully and the left side is different. So thus yes you can tell if the evolution will be a 3. Or get yourself the 4 and then watch for a silhouette on the evolve button.
I also caught shiny scatterbug from field research, and I can confirm it transferred to a hundo pokemon in my bag

50 to evolve. +\- 5000 candy.
Vivilon - 125 candy, 18 variants. 2250 candy (excluding the candy you get back for evolving)
Maushold is potentially twice as hard if not more. Just saying.
But maushold only has one source, tandemaus. The vivillions need 18 different locations of postcards. Some of which are going to be rare for a player to get (yes, they can go to a friend finder and find friends from the "right" parts of the world, but *that's* what makes it more difficult)

I got the family of three on my first try and then the family of four on the second try I'm stoked to have both.
Caught 3. First 1 I evolved was a family of 3
JT Valor did get the family of three. I can’t remember how many evolutions it took though.
I have tried 38 which is 1900 candy and I have 800 left, at the moment 4 hundo's and 3 floors.
The research is part of the event! It gives pokemon that have multiple forms (raichu, marowak, yamask) because it goes with the theme of unity/togetherness.
I only evolved one and got the 3 😅. You also don’t have to keep guessing because it’ll show the evolution as not completed for the family of 3 (family of 4 for me)
The timed research is in pairs of Pokémon I think (Sneasel with it's counterpart Hisuian Sneasel. Raichu and Alolan. Etc) - they are (almost) all also cats or mice related..
The evolution is random? Like you couldn't just check the silhouette for a shadow family of 3 after getting the 4?

Just a heads up guys the shadow of the transformation will tell you which one the set will evolve to. When it evolves into the set of three you will see the shadow of three of them instead of four.

Pretty sure it'll show you in the preview that it'll be 3 if you already involved a 4, but the preview will still be greyed out
4:53 I got the Articuno as well and I remote raided it and it was in Denmark and unfortunately not shiny but 3* and I did the Articuno because of the Mystic team but I also got Moltres all I need is Zapdos
They're not full odds shinies Onix, G Darumaka and G Zigzagoon are all 1/64. Either way I have trouble finding 1/64 shinies half the time so the merch definitely has an effect!

A lot of the spawns for this event have a permaboosted shiny rate, including the ones caught in the video, I think in the first 3 days I have about 20

see, I don't think players should be penalized just bc Niantic fucked up and a shiny spawned when it wasn't supposed to or a new mon spawned when it wasn't supposed to. That isn't the player's fault. They should be allowed to keep it. This isn't even the first time this has happened either
i think that if the tandemaus becomes a family of 3, it should have a shadow if you only got the family of 4 prior to evolving it
I would be so stoked if I got a shiny scatterbug. I try to make friends all over the world by doing routes ya know? So I get to post postcards all over the place from talking to Mateo and sending a gift lol. That’s how you’re able to get more medals from pinning post cards.
