FSP is shit. I am using a Corsair CV550 for almost 2-3yrs now and i have a extra money last January and saw a FSP HV650 85+ PRO on sale so i bought it so i can have a extra PSU in case my aging Corsair fails on me, and the MF fried my GPU after playing on it for 2 hrs. The worst part is the RMA of FSP is so dog shit, they are acting like it was my fault even though my old PSU is still working right now and they're tricking me to accept a CV750 and refuse to recognize my fried GPU. DONT BY THIS SHIT AND JUST BUY CORSAIR!
I absolutely loved watching! However, I've never heard of this brand, but that does not mean it's not reputable. The usual suspects are it seems that almost everyone just defaults to Corsair RM supplies. EVGA, Thermaltake (not so much anymore). Now I'm building a new PC, from my about 7-year-old system. And my power supply is XFX, I think! Now, I'd never heard of them before I purchased that one, and I believe in getting much more power than required, I think it's at least a 1000. My parts are probably under 600. Anyhow, because of the wonderful job presented here with this teacher, I'm at least going to go to the website and do some more googling on this brand. If by chance one of the Mod crew see this, and wish to reply, I love to hear more input! Or, anyone else who sees this comment, thank you!
I usually don't care for humor and hype with reviews, but this gentleman nails it, absolutely entertained by him thus paying attention to him. (Pay attention teachers!) Paused at 7:50 or so, to say that I appreciate the detail breakdown of the types of power supplies, but this is where I want to throw my money, the components inside! Just wanted to throw a thank you in advance for what you are going to share with us! Subbed.
I have a important question! This is what I want to build next year: CASE: Lian Li O11 Dynamic XL ROG white Cpu: 5900x Gpu: Rtx 3080 Ti Motherboard: One of the X570 Cooler: Kraken Z73 Fans: QL 120 x9 Ram: Z Trident Royal 4x8g 3600/CL6 CABLES: Lian li Strimer plus DRIVE: Seagate Firecuda 520 M.2 1T Extra Drive: Team T-FORCE Delta Max RGB 1 TB 2.5 Some RGB strips Monitor: Lg oled cx48 or an 4k ultrawide My questions is, Do I need a power supply more than 750w? My previous PC building was like 10 years ago. Never heard of FSP but after you say so then I think I would go ahead with it (since FSP PSU of other brand are too pricy). Thanks
FSP has been around for a long time actually, 20+ years, they actually began by supplying psu to industrial like Cash Machine, Server, Medical Machines....etc....
I think you should also mention that some dodgy psu doesn't deliver as advertised. Like how 600watt dodgy psu is only capable of outputting 300ish or sth like that. But good video anyway, informative and hella fun to watch 😂
is fsp a good brand for psu? i found one for 40$ in my country but i dont know fsp much based on your experience is fsp a good psu brand or not? edit:nvm i just finished the video
FSP is an ODM that manufactures for many brands, just like Delta and Seasonic. Seasonic is the best for me. Delta is known in the oem, server, and infrastructure side. FSP is a good balance for me.
Thank youi! and by the way is it overkill to use 850 watts PSU for Ryzen 5600x? i mean there's a LITTLE difference between the price now since its on sale compare to its 650watts counterpart
I had a RTX 3070 GPU and I7-10700KF CPU. 1) Is it normal for the PSU to whirl loudly for awhile on startup from a shutdown state? 2) My PC sometime automatically restart when gaming, it is due to bad PSU? Tested with OCCT for the power but unable to find any issue, GPU is connected with 8pin + 6pin (One linked cable)
1) Some PSU's fans will go full speed at boot but nothing too alarming. If it's really loud, something is probably wrong. 2) I wouldn't use a single linked cable if you can connect 2. What is the wattage of your PSU? and efficiency rating? Try connecting 2 cables. If that doesn't work, your PSU is probably underpowered.
Actually it is not true that a platinum or titanium psu is required for a high end pc. These ranks are only here for comparing power efficiency and thus energy savings. Quality is not linked to 80+ ratings. What I mean is that you should always at least have a psu that is 80+ white minimum but other than that the brand and the build quality is more important. It is not useful spending many dollars just to grab a psu that is platinum over a bronze or silver one unless you care about saving few dollars on your electricity bill. You can calculate if it is worth it. For example : Good brand 650w psu 80+ platinum => 150 dollars Good brand 650w psu 80+ white => 70 dollars Around 10% difference in efficiency. Let's say 1kWh is 0.15 dollars. Then if you use your computer 8h a day for 365 days at full power you will pay 25 dollars more per year in the worst case scenario with the 80+ white one. So you will need 3 years for the 80+ platinum to be worth it. Just think of it, my example is insane in reality it could take more than 10 years to be worth it. TL;DR : Do not buy expensive psu because they are platinum / titanium Other than that great video! Liked the style and it was funny to watch
Actually, energy savings is not the only benefit of having a higher power effeciency PSU. The better engineered design and quality of components also often lead to a longer lasting PSU with more stable power delivery. And I while I do agree that platinum or titanium rated PSUs are not a must for high end desktops, if you're someone like me who pairs an i9 or Ryzen 9 or threadripper with an RTX 3090 or RX 6900 XT and are constantly rendering and running your components on full load, there is no reason why you should not consider a platinum or titanium rated PSU from a reputable brand. However, I rarely go above platinum unless I'm getting a good deal on that titanium. Gold PSUs are adequate too in most cases. Again, short of opening up the PSU everytime we wanna make a purchase, You're probably have to rely on reviews. Which we are actually considering to do more of in the future.
@@MOBHouse That is true yes, it is often the case that companies that produce platinum and titanium ratings do know better what they build. But as you say at the end, it is all based on the reviews and then it is a matter of energy savings. (in your case it is worth it as you mentioned running full power most of the time)
Not gonna lie, I don't think I'll buy used ones let alone ones with no 80 rating and from a reputable brand. Lots of people here selling some power supplies that are labeled "Korean true rated power supply" or "True heavy duty rated power supply", kinda sus.
Thank's for those explanation: I didn't see on your exemple my config so here is my question : GPU 3060 TI - Ryzen 9 and few Hdisk - Should I go to 1000Watt or 850 or 750 gold still oké ? Many thank's and once again your vidéos are great ! first Time that I see a TH-camr talking about After effect and Premiere when he talk about GPU on his vidéo and that is great too
In theory your computer will use 350 watts based on its components specs, but do not forget that a psu has a fixed efficiency. A 80+ white psu of 450w could work (80% x 450 = 360 watts) but it will be very short. In pratice, it could happen that your pc consume a bit more, if the graphic card is overclocked, if you have multiple fans or if you have rgb for example so I would recommend going for at least 500w if not 550w. I have also experienced coil whine when my computer draws power close to its limit. So if you can't withstand it, go for +550w. Hope it helps
my FSP1000 stopped working on my PREDATOR ACER ORION I9-99 !!!!! ARE THEY THAT CHEAP QUALITY ?? WHAT SHALL I BUY NOW INSTEAD? my PC keep restarting on itself and it came out to be the power supply. it start and 4 seconds later it shutdown and start again.
Perhaps you could bring it to a PC shop to have them troubleshoot it, if it's the PSU, you can send it for RMA. Another thing that could kill PSUs are shoddy electricity supply. I used to live in a pretty old residential area where i kept getting surges that killed multiple of my PSUs and I didn't realize that until i put in a surge protector which eventually got triggered. TBH, I've been running 3x FSP PSUs since this video came out and haven't had 1 issue yet.
Hey bro, very educational, I’m building my first PC and I was looking at the Skyreach 4 mini wondering if the 650w fsp dagger will fit? I’m also lost on if a 650w capacitor would fit?

Just had my FSP psu explode on me after 12+yrs of service its an old hexa 600 model now hoping it didn't fry everything well its an old system a8 apu with a 1060 but i have no cash right now for a new build.
Hello, I need some help trying to decide which one I'm going to get. My PSU is an FSP Hyper-K 500W 80+ White. The GPU I want are the RTX 2060 super or RTX 3060, is my PSU Sufficient enough to run them? My processor is an Intel Core i5 9400F + single stick 8gb 2666mhz Ram ( will upgrade to 2 sticks in the future.) Also using a Stock intel cooler, will change to a Noctua Cooler or atleast a decent aircooler. Any help or answers are highly appreciated, thank you.
Bro, I have a question, should I get ups or avr for planning a building PC? because my friend always tells me to buy a ups or avr for safety in psu. can you do content for that, and also how to right converted Va to watts. thank you
Ok. So basically you need a surge protector unless you're dealing with very crazy unstable electricity and you do very sensitive work like audio production, then i think AVR is good. The UPS is good for almost all people cuz it allows you time to save your files and properly shut down in the case of an outage. This is extremely useful for things such as NAS or workstations where your data is crucial.
Bro..cn i ask? My current psu is Aerocool Lux RGB 650w Bronze..my current build is r5 3600 with an rtx2060 but soon i'll be upgrading to an rtx3070.. The problem is my psu only has 1 8-pin pcie and the cable is split to 2 6+2 pin.. Can it power the rtx3070 which requires 2 8-pin? Is the psu good and safe or should i change?
Hello I have a Thermaltake smart se 730w bronze with msi gtx 1070 gaming x and it have a loud buzzing sound especially when playing games so I sold my psu and I'm planning to buy an fsp hydro g pro 850w or fsp hydro ptm 650 (with the same price )and hope to reduce the coil whine from my gtx 1070 -please help me to choose the right psu
I don't know if my PSU was a dodgy one but it is not a popular brand in Malaysia. When i check in 80 plus website, it shown there. When i check in linus tech list, it shown there. It is a full modular PSU with a 80 plus gold certificate. So i should be safe right?
@@MOBHouse i didn’t use the pc as i used to, it just gave up maybe some technical issue there wasn’t any smokes or sparks.. casing and motherboard lights comes up but it couldn’t start the pc..
1 like for you. I am currently using FSP Hyper K 500Watts. Am happy with it. My previous PSU is thermaltake modular. Lousy. It died halfway. I trust FSP better. A taiwanese company. Taiwan makes better product than China.

Lol..my gamdias 1200W platinum rated just exploded one of its capacitor last night.
I5-10400f + 3060ti, planning to buy fsp hyper k 600w 80plus.. its enough?
should be good!
@@MOBHouse ohhh nice thank you so much for the information about avr and ups
Bro..cn i ask? My current psu is Aerocool Lux RGB 650w Bronze..my current build is r5 3600 with an rtx2060 but soon i'll be upgrading to an rtx3070..
The problem is my psu only has 1 8-pin pcie and the cable is split to 2 6+2 pin..
Can it power the rtx3070 which requires 2 8-pin? Is the psu good and safe or should i change?
I would probably upgrade. just to be safe.
Is it okay to use a powerrex 80+ plus bronze power supply? 700 watts
Can u make PSU explosion experiment?
Hello
I have a Thermaltake smart se 730w bronze with msi gtx 1070 gaming x and it have a loud buzzing sound especially when playing games so I sold my psu and I'm planning to buy an fsp hydro g pro 850w or fsp hydro ptm 650 (with the same price )and hope to reduce the coil whine from my gtx 1070
-please help me to choose the right psu
I'll go 850W because if you're using 1070, you're probably looking in upgrade in the next couple of years. Gotta keep your options open!
I don't know if my PSU was a dodgy one but it is not a popular brand in Malaysia.
When i check in 80 plus website, it shown there.
When i check in linus tech list, it shown there.
It is a full modular PSU with a 80 plus gold certificate.
So i should be safe right?
What's the brand man?
@@MOBHouse enermax revolution df 650W
@@AffiqAnwar Enermax is pretty decent tbh
@@MOBHouse but difficult to find in many store lorr.
So i am quite 50-50 there...
Seasonic s12III or fsp hydro k?

I already bought my psu but i came here for a laugh anyway

Is 450watt 80+ FSP psu good for pc?

My fsp hydro 600w gave up after 5 years of use..

@@MOBHouse i didn’t use the pc as i used to, it just gave up maybe some technical issue there wasn’t any smokes or sparks.. casing and motherboard lights comes up but it couldn’t start the pc..
I can understand just read on ur hand signals😂
I had a 850W but it burned, I then had the pc repaired and they built a 250W for me XDDD
That pc repair shop ah.....haiyaaa
How come? crazy ah?
how about r7 3700x and 5700xt??
600W ought to do it.
Hhhh quite ironic that my cm gold psu died and this video came up
B4 that is GEPU , now is PASU
PASUUUU
i love this review, malaysian style hhaahah onz 99
hey is fsp hydro gd worth it about to get it soon it doesn't have alot of reviews
1 like for you. I am currently using FSP Hyper K 500Watts. Am happy with it. My previous PSU is thermaltake modular. Lousy. It died halfway. I trust FSP better. A taiwanese company. Taiwan makes better product than China.
nice vidiu
