- Bond order is 1,2,3 for single, double, triple bonds.
It can be a fraction if there are resonance structures.
Higher Bond Order means shorter, stronger bonds.
Examples here include CO, CO2, CH3OH, CH3COOH, CH3COO(-), ClO(-), ClO2(-), ClO3(-) and ClO4(-).
You sir are a godsend. My final is in less than 24 hours and you just saved me.
same
My exam is in less than 16 hours
You definitely helped a lot
Thanks sir🙏

The best thing about your video is the fact that you're focussing on the page only and not introducing yourself with statements like "please like and subscribe". It makes them so boring. Love your video!
Thanks you helped me loads. Exam tomorrow!
Thanks so much!!! You just saved me from staying up all night!

Best vedio ever watched on this topic.
Thank you for this! It's really helpful specially when identifying the bond order of resonance structures.
Do I need to watch this: no
Why I am watching: Just for fun
This refresh my school memory.
I think you forgot one more lone pair of electrons on the Cl in ClO2.
Yes
I guess There will be a single electron not a lp, correct me if I m wrong
I finally understand this😭. Thank you
What a classic teacher ❤❤
5:27 Weakest looks like Ojeahest
Superb video sir keep still more videos please we want to learn from you I think you're a chemist if any one wants to listen the class please like me
Thank you sir it took me only 10 minutes to learn that and that was very quick.I was trying to learn it so hard but now I got it😀😀
Thanks...a hundred times seriously u r an amazing teacher
Neet??
AP Chemistry cramming anyone?
no?
ok.
fr fr...
facts
Not anymore, this vid is clear enough :)
Yes ofc
😞
what about the bond order of NO molecule
Resonance or Mesomerism and Tautomerism please explain this
THANK YOU!! CLEAR AND TO THE POINT
Better than Indian coaching classes videos
Only took me 5 minutes to understand resonance structures n bond orders ty
I love you 💞🥰💗❤️💞
To learn this concept 😊
Great presentation....thanx!
Thanks you help me loads exam tomorrow
Hey! I had a question. In CH3COOH, The lone pair of oxygen can also do resonance, right?
Hi
Well, I know it's late, very late to answer this question but for those who have the same doubt, if the lone pair of oxygen takes place in resonance then one oxygen will get a -ve charge and the other +ve ( formal charge) now the oxygen which has a -ve charge acts as a very strong base and also there's an acidic H attached to the other oxygen, so it will extract the acidic H leading to the formation of the same compound before and after resonance
Thank you sir. I have been confused about this for way too long.
Damn bro really epic. Big thank
Great explaination
Thankyou 🌸 from India
this is sooooo good thank you so much I am crying
Very very basic, 11th grade chemistry for Indian but still adequate...
but how did you calculated the bond order for acetate ion which was 1.5 is there No method to calculate that
This was soooo helpful... thank you sir!
Thank u very much, it was helpful
Sir how to find bond order of elements like H2 and li2
why does resonance occur in carboxylate ions buy not in the carboxylic acid.
It was very helpful thank you
Is the carbon to oxygen bond length in ethanoic acid or ethanoate ion shorter?
Ethanoic acid has ONE carbon oxygen bond shorter (the double bond) and one carbon oxygen bond longer (the single bond) then in ethanoate where the two bonds are both the same length
Why we not consider between carbon and hydrogen bond...
Sir why should we only consider CARBON AND OXYGEN bond
Why cant we consider CARBON CARBON bond
is nate canadian???
currently drowning in chem homework, but this helped a lot so thank you.
May I know what the bond order for HCN is? 😭 Why is it that some sources say it's three?
The bond order of HCN is three
Thank u sir,u explained Very well
Well explained!
Thank you Sir!
ThnkQ...very helpful
Very nice video sir... thanks .... upload more videos sir
you're the best!!! thank you
At isn't O supposed to only have 5 valence electrons at 6:41 ?
The O is negatively charged, so it has 1 extra electron .
What is the relation between bond length and shell no.??
Pls anyone replyy...
I have several questions about bond strength. Can we take a discussion in email
got my JEE exa tommorow
Thank you sm 🥰
Thank you sir 👍
great video!
Thanks you very much
god bless you
Sheldon Cooper???
Thanks!!
amazing chemistry sir
Dude u saved my ass today!
Dude check out this link th-cam.com/video/80Q7BIAV9iU/w-d-xo.html
Thank youuuu
CH3OH isn't following the octet rule sir...
Octet rule is not even a rule.
thanks
6:52 Two pairs of lone pairs in ClO2-
no just 1
He is missing a lone pair of electrons. Count total V.E. and you'll notice that he has 18 when it should be 20. He is missing the Lone pair in the CL. Don't believe me? Count the formal charges!
Not IB but we go them AP kids here. Im one of em
Thankyou 😌😌😌
💙
Let me tell you a trick to calculate bond order......
= (Sigma-bond + π-bond)/Sigma bond
I can do it more easily ,Don't know why no one taught it yet . Just use this formulae....
sigma bond + pi bond / sigma bond = bond order
FINAL IS LESS THAN 3 HOURS WISH ME LUCK AND THANK U SIR
Thx m8
thx dad
Tnks sir
Tq
you're canadian aren't you
Big brain
yes u r a chemist
Very fast that teaching but slowly
good job
u the boss ahahahaha
sir ..[Fe(Co)4] ka kaise kre find bond order
*Cries in chemistry 101 final*
yep same here, currently having a mental breakdown because of my general chem exam tomorrow
Patrick Kavanaugh Good luck. I had mine yesterday. Hardest final to end the semester.
I have mine in a couple of hours
good presentation but improve on video show
Anyone indian
Wrong structure of CO
anyone here who knows the bond energy and bond order of caffeine ;__;
Its not correct answer for find the bond length
sound quality very badd
Thanks!!!
