    PhD stipends and PostDoc salaries are quiet low in UK. Most students have to do non stipendary lecture role to get through, if you are based in London, Oxford etc due to higher cost of living.

      Yes Anglo-Saxon countries run universities more like businesses and pay the minimum possible amount to PhD students.

      @@Drganguli Loved the Postdoc strike at Berkrley last year. At least they have raised the postdoc salary to some reasonable amount now.

      Usa has the advantage of a plethora of universities and an immigrant friendly system in terms of jobs etc. The English language also helps.

    Sir, what do you think about the idea of anti-ranking of countries by the phd-salary?

    • @Drganguli
      @Drganguli  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes it is a good concept. PhD salaries should be considered in ranking research and not only output.

    Is there any opportunity to pursue postdoc in Cognitive Linguistics in Norway or Denmark?

      Certainly it should be possible. You should identify the professors by searching for papers published from these countries from google scholar or you can go to the university sites and find the right departments. Google will give you the universities in any country.

    Sir, which one is better to go for master's in Canada or Australia? From long term perspective.

      First you have to find a good college as some colleges in these countries, especially Canada, have low standards and are giving admission to foreign students mostly to make money. The quality in good colleges likes university of Melbourne or university of Toronto is similar. But Canada benefits from closeness to USA and has more companies where you can get jobs. It is easier to get jobs in north usa also as you can easily interview and move with visa if needed.
