Being a woman, I also knew right away what happened to the main female character. It was so obvious from the way she behaved. When Siddharth's character grabbed her hand and she slapped him, I knew right away. Her uncontrolled strong reaction and body language told me everything.
Yeah I thought that too. Its a female thing. We have to be on our guard all the time since we were children even, we just KNOW....

Me and my wife watched this movie late night! We have 3.5 years old kid. We couldn’t sleep, we discussed the whole night and slept at 6 AM
I cried a lot watching this movie. I live in the UK and it's no different. As a father of a 5 year old , damn it struck me hard.
the director said in a interview that this movie is a victory if people talk about it in their household
I don't have kids,but I was telling myself again and again no phones for my kids,it was a disturbing movie.
I literally cried soon after coming out of the theater hall... I ran to the restroom so tat no one finds me crying except my husband..

@@ratna79 "Goodnight" was nice, it's a feel good movie I'd say. Then there is "porthozhil" a crime thriller, "Maveeran" it's a unique never before seen super hero movie, I really enjoyed this one for it's authenticity.
"Chittha" is heart wrenching, a thought provoking movie with some top notch performances!
Leo and Jailer were fun in the theatres Vijay did show a different side of him in leo in my opinion and Superstar Rajnikanth still giving such powerful screen presence which was pretty entertaining.
and the most favourite for me was "Jigarthanda double X" it's a masterpiece! You have to watch it one day or the other, it takes you on a journey of emotions. I absolutely loved that one.

Nimisha was in Double X! She was the main character's wife(gangster) from the tribe that was pregnant!
The obvious Siddharth pick is Jigarthanda (masterpiece), but other recomendations would include Aayitha Ezhuthu (Mani Ratnam's hyperlink-ish thriller, which was remade as Yuva in Hindi) and Jil Jung Juk, an underrated, irreverent fusion of Mad-Max visuals and the classic Tarantino/Guy Ritchie-inspired crime genre which is just so much fun and would make for a great watchalong! It's so funny and so much stupid fun.
Jigarthanda is not a masterpiece.. dont mislead them.. it was a good hit when it was released, and mostly enjoyable.. but definitely not a masterpiece.. Why I am telling this is, it will create unnecessary hype and they would end up not enjoying as much..

People talk great about Kaviya thalaivan and enakkul oruvan, I havent watched either of it but I see people hail praises,IMO Sidharth is not fully utilized yet!
The Director in an interview said that in a scene where Sundari’s mom is teaching her good touch and bad touch, he did not show where the mom is touching her purposely.. The reason he gave for that was he wanted the parents to decide whether they wanna teach their kid or not..
FYI - Hero Siddharth was an assistant to Director Maniratnam during his earlier days

It's not a movie for kids. It's too scary for them. It's A rated by BBFC (British Board of Film Classification). Don't give traumas to small kids by making them watch such a hard-hitting movie. Protect kids, teach them, warn them in the most possible delicate way, but don't show such traumatic movies for adults to them.

Watched this yesterday and my heart was heavy. This is absolutely one of the films that could have easily been sent to the Oscars (or even premiere in an international film festival). Don't know why it wasn't released like that with some big awards

18:12 It's the same here too in India. It's just about the time period we were in, especially ones born in 1970s to 1990s. We all walked alone on roads, at night times in the dark, sometimes without parents too. But today's age NO.. attention towards kids and parental guidance is a must wherever they are, and technology plays an important role

Burglary has decreased but you know what increased? - Adult & infant rape, murder, kidnap, women sexual assault. Recheck your data and reassess it by YoY. These are the most important things to be controlled which are just increasing instead! So I stand by my comment.
Some notable movies with Siddharth: Rang De Basanti, Jigarthanda, Jil Jung Juk, Bommarillu, and Nuvvostanante Nennodantana. All are phenomenal movies and cult classics.

Chitha is short for chithappa… meaning younger father (father’s younger brother) … the kid probably shortened it from chithapa to chiththa

only people who knows tamil can get the humor in that movie.
No, In India killing someone is a criminal offense and would be hanged to death. But, their offense will be reduced if they did it cuz someone motivated them into killing someone (try recalling virumandi) in that movie Kamal would be on death sentence (wrongly accused, but still) and pasupati would be on a life sentence (as he justified his actions and blamed it on KH). I think Siddharth got a prison sentence for attempted murder, not for murder itself. If you recall, that him n his friend would have tried to kill the other pedophile in that film.
The last scene of murder news was added for theatrical release only as per director, he would be editing it out for film festival screenings. Also, it's not entirely based on one story, a lot of stories must have inspired this movie sadly.
Bakwas to lastest slang meaning in Tamizh is "Uruttu"🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Bakwas means garbage or nonsense. Uruttu means lie. Not Same. Kuppai or dabba or thandakarumam are closer.

i have a 5 years old daughters, and i couldn't watch the movie fully... most of the time i fast forward it. As Korbin said, i keep putting my self on the situation and i could not handle it.

A few things to correct
1. Nimisha Sajayan was from double x as well. She was the wife of Allius Caesar. She was committed first for Chitha but Double x had an earlier release.
2. About the climax, yes, it is implied the uncle got away with the murder. He gave her neice the time to recover which is one year and once she smiled, he plotted the revenge and killed the person responsible. So, he did heed to Nimisha's advise to help with the one affected and he waited until his neice to recover to plot the revenge and execute it. You could view it as a man's thing to still seek revenge but took Nimisha's advise.

This film doesn't need budget, dumbos to keep it grounded and realistic.
when everyone talks about women's suffering in this movie but what i loved in this movie soo much is they also shown the sufferings of a real good men (siddarth) labelled as a pedoph!le, who is taking care oh his own niece. the last blame to men would never want is to call him as grapist and pedoph!le, when he is not. siddarth did that portion very well. that's were the director won because he doesn't blame all men like some feminist movies but he also showed how much a men will suffer, if he was labelled as a grapist and pedoph!le. for an information according to indian census 2022 upto 74% of grape cases were fake and were labelled to get money from them, reasoning for cheating on husband and others. but other 36% were true and those animals should be given capital punishment.
Please don't spread misinformation. There was no Indian census in 2022. The last completed census was in 2011. And the Indian census does not collect information about how many rape cases were fake and how many were real. The 74% number you're quoting is not from the census, it is from an NCRB report. But it is not the percentage of false cases, it is the percentage of cases where the accused was not convicted. Just because an accused is not convicted in a case does not mean the case is fake. There can be many other reasons for why the accused was acquitted. Rape is a crime for which it is often extremely difficult to get evidence. Often it is just a "he said, she said" situation. In such a case, the accused party is given the benefit of the doubt and acquitted due to lack of evidence. But this does not prove that the accusation was false. It just means there was not enough evidence to convict the accused. The NCRB report actually does list the number of accusations that have been judged to be false, and it's not 74%, it's 8%. That's right, only 8% of cases were closed because the report was false. As for the 74% of cases where the accused was acquitted, the court decided there was not enough evidence to judge that the accused is guilty of rape, but there is also not enough evidence to judge that the accuser is guilty of false reporting.
