    Finally a video that gives the Audi TT RS a fair shot, I think it is up to the driver to handle the understeer, loved your point on the great exits.

      That’s right, if you can manage the understeer on entry… or even better… rotate the car on entry… the RS shines on the exits.
      The car finds stability on power, but needs to be loose off power.
      Thanks for watching.

    Very informative video - particularly the in-cabin camera placement which allows us to get a proper feel for how the car is behaving on entry, apex, and then exit of the corners. We can clearly see understeer, and then intentionally provoked lift-off oversteer, and the subsequent corrections being applied. A very balanced and fair assessment of a car often criticized for limitations few will ever reach on a public road.

    If you drive the TTRS like a FWD car and modulate with good trail braking, it’ll certainly rotate nicely!

    Thanks! This was my dream car for so many years. Used to love 5 cylinder so much until I hit the track with BRZ. My life changed since. Really love the video! Many many thanks for making good video. 🥰

    People always think of the MK3 as a Porsche competitor, when actually they should think of it as a Lightweight 2-Door MK7+ Golf with camber adjustment and the ability to fit huge tires.
    Every time I start looking at used 981 Cayman/Boxsters I realize I can get a MK3 TT base for way less and throw some track/autox mods at it and have a great car. Loved my 2017 MK7 GTI when I had it.

    Amazing track car! Def need some mods like a front and rear sway bar, stiffer engine mounts, Unitronic stage 2 e85 tune, ect. This car really flys using the paddle shifters. The autotrans is good but on the track you can really see the delay so def use the paddle shifts. Have fun!!! I love my 2018 TTRS and track it all the time.

      I can imagine that recipe makes for an absolute track weapon. Thanks for watching.

    Thanks for the video. Your tire & wheel setup is nice.

    It’s so cool that brake and wheel are very close fitment

    Ya, it handles just like the S3 I'm running in OTA, only about 100 HP more :)

    I cannot see it, but did you disable traction control etc.? That makes is easier to control the car on a track. I'm running mk2 and the trick is to force the rear to slide a bit in sharp corners until the front faces the exit direction and then send it, quattro does the rest. But yes, exit from corners is what you aim for, so late turns.

    I'd be curious to know what is quicker on track with the same tires and same level of mods, a G82 M240i xdrive or this TT RS

      M240i is not even close, g82, it was faster than the original m2 at least in mosport

    to get serous you need to install #verkline suspension parts

      Funny you say that, the car got some serious mods this offseason and will be featured again in 2025.

    hello this car wheel size?18or19?

    how does it compare to the supra?

    • @DriversPaddock
      @DriversPaddock  หลายเดือนก่อน

      They are very different cars, completely different driving experiences on track.
      The TTRS needs to be rotated on entry and is point and shoot. The Supra, you manage the front end on entry and steer with throttle.

    • @patpaul218
      @patpaul218 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @DriversPaddock which one is faster with basic track support mods do you think? Thinking to switch platforms to supra

    • @DriversPaddock
      @DriversPaddock  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@patpaul218 I wouldn’t go off of that to decide if you want to switch platforms. They are SO different in terms of driving dynamics. They both have potential for being fast, but the work that spage, PHD racing and others have done to develop the Supra platform and the aftermarket support behind it, gives it a really high ceiling.
      Both motors are highly tunable and chassis dynamics can always be tweaked… but the TTRS is all about entry rotation and rocketship exits. The Supra is all about steering with throttle.
      You really need to drive both before making a decision, they’re both fast but how they go fast is different.
      If you’re asking for a straight answer.. which one do I think is faster with light mods… I’d have to say the Supra would just edge out the RS on a faster track, but the RS would edge it out slightly on a tighter track and definitely in lower grip environments such as rain.

      @@DriversPaddock thank you I appreciate the input I've been thinking put my TTRS in one of the street mod classes or get a Supra and go street mod cuz I've been watching PhD for a while but it seems like they limit a tire sizes in the class so the super doesn't have that edge in the class at least. I've gotten my TTRS to track very well last thing I need is a hauldex controller so that the rear end doesn't want to come around on breaking so that it breaks like a all-wheel drive car because the all-wheel drive comes in with the throttle unless you have a tuner box to have it on all the time

    • @patpaul218
      @patpaul218 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@DriversPaddock only problem is I have a fully built TTRS right now so I'd have to start off with a new one to get into the class
