"It's got a whole lot of bumpsteer." As a EP3 owner this got me so bad 😂. DC5s and EP3s are great cars.
Thats my RSX pictured at 11:39. I have owned it for 12 years and still enjoy every moment of it.
Are the FA5 Civic Si effected by the same issues with lowering?
No the 8th gen has the steering rack mounted low with a better steering geometry
Always respect the raft
Great coverage and in depth of the geometry was very interesting as I always wondered about the layout hearing criticism but never explained fully. I don't have my rsx anymore but it was a nice trip down memory lane. Looking forward to the next project of yours.
1:37 professional ricer😂
Drinking game phrase: absolute weapon
Glad you briefly said the EN for car to own. I bought one and a lot what steered me away from the CTR was your last fl5 video. Added a third car even against VPs advice.
Great recap. RS is nothing to stress over. Most people drive to Yorkville lol
I literally love the e36 and own a 325is by the way
Nice driving! That wall at the last turn before the finish straight seems dicey
When Jason says 'Cargo Space' he means 'Car Go Space' cause he is so fast.
Why do they consistently engineer in so much body roll into the Miata and ask the outside tires to carry so much load? Do the Spec Miata’s have this much weight transfer?
Love it! I've read it really comes alive from 4-9k rpm's. Do you find it hard to get it there for street driving? Do you have to drive in 2nd gear all the time to hear it sing?
Definitely… the car is going pretty fast at the top of second… the top of third will put you in jail. These cars are amazing, but hard to push and enjoy on the streets without going way too fast.
@@DriversPaddock I bet. I'm sure it's an amazing car even below 4k, but I know I'd always be trying to scream it to hear it.
Nice driving... Is the car stock? Just with the differential, pads and fluids? Looks like it's so eagar to rotate.
Thanks for sharing this story. Cool Build
Hard to believe these are 26 years old. Always loved the look of the E36
Keep it up, love the content. I have to go back and watch the videos that I missed. Is that an E92 I saw? :O
As a former owner of the AW11 MR2 , and now enjoying my MR 6 speed manual 2003 Spyder as my daily driver, I fully endorse all the content of this amazing video.
Where can I find your build specs? What cooling mods do you think are necessary for full :30 track sessions?
The M2C engine doesn’t really over heat. It has the cooling package from the M4 GTS from factory. Just do your regular maintenance and oil changes every few track days, it’s not a problem on these cars. Personally, I do an oil change, differential fluid every 2-3 track days and I do transmission fluid and brake fluid every season. We have a high capacity oil pan for the DCT trans from Slon Motorsport, but otherwise stock. We also have the M2CS racing brake cooling ducts. If you’re looking to do 30 min sessions, just keep an eye on your temperatures and see if you need any additional cooling. We don’t do more than 20 mins as tire degradation hits well before that point if pushing hard. Must do - brake fluid (we use endless RBF 660), brake pads (we use endless MA45B)… otherwise, work up to it and keep an eye on temps but we don’t have any additional cooling. We’ll be doing an in-depth dive into this build come spring time. Stay tuned for more.
Love our channel and appreciate the manner and approach you take when you drive and talk to owners. You should think about possible a fly out to US. My friends and I do private track days in AZ and have some cool and different cars. Maybe we fly you down, have a place for you to stay, and then maybe film your formatted content with different cars on a track day. Its all downs son your schedule and time commitments with all. Enjoyed this video quite a bit.
one of my new favorite channels 💯
Awesome pod! Seen you around at a few tracks last year, interested maybe a session in a street/track prepped c6z next season?😉
curious to see what you think of the fl5/de5's on track!
FL5 Video on my channel now
Great Recap! Congrats on the channel success and looking forward to seeing you again at the track (the Miata isn’t so stock anymore 😉)
Pretty cool to watch and can't wait to see the new content. Best wishes
Really cool setup and video, well done.
Congrats on the 1 year! this channel has definitely been one of my favorites as a newer car enthusiast who has dipped his toes into track days.
SS 1LE is 3700 lbs and pretty easy to lose some right off the bat as the oem wheels are heavy. Apex 18x12s are much lighter and it's possible to run 18x12 square, remove rear seats and few minor things are you can get under 3650 pretty easy. I did replace magride with MCS RR2s and put in a stiffer front bar and ZLE rear bar (about the same but adjustable). The car is absolutely amazing and much faster than stock... I'd take it over a M2 or Supra any day, the drivetrain and chassis are better than BMW, even though the Alpha chassis cars are BMW clones. Best modern sports car until you get to C8Zs and GT4s.
I would imagine lighter wheels and gutting the interior, would loose at least 200lbs from the weight.
@@JacesOwnWorld You save about 9 lbs per wheel with Apex forged 18x12s. The rear seats are 25-30 lbs. Maybe another 10 lbs of accessories like the tire inflation kit. So that's about 75 lbs. Race seats are probably about that too. Then if you go cf doors and fenders plus carbon ceramic brakes you're up to about 250-275 lbs. IDK how Pratt Miller gets the GT4R down to around 3200, that's a LOT of weight vs the oem car!
curious how a 5th gen Z28 compares to a 6th gen SS 1LE
@@pan4632 Pretty similar... Z has a little more hp, 6th Gen has the Alpha chassis.
Congrats, been following since the start. Keep pushing out content, can't believe this channel isn't 10+K subs already. I look forward to each and every video.
Been following along since the beginning and really enjoyed this recap. Most excited for the 8th gen civic review in 2025 and I Can't say I'm surprised about the car of the year.
I cant do this hobby/lifestyle right now and i never did more than autoX in the past, but this channel is an awesome ride along
I still miss my SS1LE even though I "upgraded" want another
Chevy needs to make a new one!!
@pan4632 it will return just hope it's with V8
Upgrade to?
Probably not the point of drivers paddock but I think I would heavily consider the Camaro over the Supra and M2 because it’s one of the last v8s especially manual. If you really want to step it up even more then I guess there’s zl1 or a corvette .
Fun stuff, love the year breakdown 👌🏻
Congrats on 1 year and a great channel!
If you have any questions, drop them here below! Thanks for an amazing 2024 and we'll see you for an exciting 2025! Thanks for all the support. LET'S. GO!
i’ve got a car i would love for you to review and give your thoughts on. where is the best place to contact you?
Spoiler: car of the year is the Nissan Cube
Was still expecting an ultra wide stance intro
Please check the sump gasket silicone being WAY overdone and the oil intake filter in the sump being filled with excess fallen off into the sump. Are they still over doing the silicone and it's dislodging and clogging the intake filter?
You didn't mention the 992.2 suspension and transmission is tuned to the S/T spec for softer ride quality and shorter gearing.
One of the legendary 2000’s cars. another great review.
I’m a civic type R guy, but I can understand what you’re saying. the overheating issue is hard to deal with, with the FF packaging. with cooling, i can only for 3-4 laps hard before I need to cool down the car. i’ve driven the elantra N as well… great car and your point about ‘people will like what they like’ is basically the comments section. i grew up with hondas and naturally have an affinity towards them. thanks for another great video.
Question: Which did you like more? The manual or automatic? 🤔
Driving like this look sso much fun but also so damn intimidating. I'm so scared of money shifting.
If your like me and never earned enough to blow It on track fees or brakes, the EN still does amazing well as a daily. I live downtown Toronto and about 100 percent of my driving is city core. My 2023 now has 75000km and my lifetime average for fuel consumption is 9.4L/100km. Doubtful the any dedicated track car in existent can get that kind of consumption. 6MT and letting coast in gear helps with consumption. If you think that's not good consumption, you obviously never drove in downtown Toronto.
Man, there's one that's just gone on sale for under $6,500 (¥997,000) with an lsd. It doesn't look damaged, but it feels suspiciously cheap, but for that price who cares as long as it runs! I only just got a miata a few months ago and changed wheels and tyres to start tracking next year, so it's gonna be hard to justify a 3rd car lol. It's agony because I have the funds to buy it outright right now if I wanted, but.... AGHHHHH
This guy makes the most non BS driving impresions of cars ever on youtube displayed on how he can actually explain what a car really feels like. Its great and if i didnt have 2 track cars and was looking to buy a new track car, i would of watched of all of his videos and choose one based off of his explanation Give big props. Most people dont talk about cars in this level of detail
