What, no scan tool? I thought you had to do a relearn procedure, so the computer knew that the mirror was reattached and could be communicated with.
You're fixing mirrors, inside a garage... And I'm outside laying on the ground, playing in brake dust...
Don’t use super glue, you will crack your windshield.

You forgot to spray the attachment/mating surfaces with brake clean! FAIL!
There he goes again, shotgunning parts. Just assumed it was the glue. Didn't even check the theory of operation. ;-)

I stuck it on the outside of the windshield. Is there a way I can still attach the mirror?

Love this type of videos! I love watching and learning how to do the bigger mechanical work as well, but stuff like this hits closer to home, when you don't have car jacks, jack stands, torque wrenches etc., to undertake bigger repairs by yourself. It's nice seeing how to fix the smaller things properly as well.
