  • In this video I bring you along as I replace the rear wiper arm on a Ford Escape. It is very common for the bushing to corrode to the wiper motor shaft. I'll show you how I get that piece removed in this video.
    -Enjoy!

      You can get around it with CorBan or anti size, etc. hot with some fluid film every once in awhile.
      Motorcycle manufacturers do this too with frames and attach bolts. Then they put everything together dry.
      Most people have more things than they have adequate resources (either time or money) to properly care for. Think Lord of the Manor in England; this won't be happening to his car because it will be garaged and cared for by his live in driver/mechanic 🤷 But I guess everyone had to make ends meet somehow. Vice Grip Garage is an example of this: only had time to care for what he's using at the time.

    Well done on the correct pronunciation of "aluminium" 😀

    • @tomoakhill8825
      @tomoakhill8825 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      The person who discovered the element, British chemist Humphry Davy published a chemistry textbook in 1812 which he used the spelling aluminum. This is his _final_ name for the element he discovered. Without exception, every other element discovered by a chemist, was named by the discoverer. Calling this element aluminium makes it the ONLY element whose name is not that given it by its discoverer. Thus, the pronunciation, aluminum, used in the United States, honors the wishes of the man you discovered this element by using the name _he_ gave it. (I am well aware of the IUPAC designation. They are wrong to make this the exception.)

    Went through this with my stupid Mini in January when it was absolutely freezing out. Ended up having to cut it off but what made it frustrating on the Mini is that the washer nozze is on the end of the washer motor nubbin. So real easy to break if you're not careful and makes using pullers darn near impossible.
    Anyway, great tip on the cardboard. Going to keep that in mind this winter when it breaks again.

    I used to do the same with a cut off while on arcade games with the active steering wheel assemblies. Aluminum cog pulley onto a steel motor shaft. After a few years of being in use, the cogs wear down, the belt slips. And you've got a better shot at meeting Moses in the supermarket then getting it to pull off the shaft.
    One cut on the side-- It'll fall off in your hand.

    Took the plastic on off my 08 Ford Edge and put 1 from a 08-10ish Explorer. Looks better and can use a plane jane wiper blade and i did not have to use a different length blade. Cost for the arm $5 and $5 for the wiper
