Dude, you got a sick spinning back kick. I'm a kickboxer myself with a little bit of TKD background. Ax kick, High kick and the spinning are also my "go to" moves (besides the classic tip and low kick). Very inspiring
i m just wondering how applicable is the axe kick in real sparring, cause I dont c it dealing any damage often and i felt it's really slow, how did u apply the axe kick?
Sonny Five Sure its a slower movement because there's two movements, but you can make it smooth and turn it into one movement. it depends how you kick. axe kicxks are tricky to block and not expected. axe kicks are easy to land but dont do as much damage as direct movements. but Ive seen many axe kick knockouts, so its not a toy. I put himin the corner and threw it. he had no space to retreat so he ate it.
Justin Ys fart bot 3😂 I know a lot of kicks and have honed most of the kicks he did in the video and I do them pretty well but at one point I realized he was higher level in Tkd when he did the flurry roundhouse move that I don’t know wtf that is but I only got as far as earning a green belt. then my school shut down and I practiced on my own from then and picking up some boxing too.
i started to kickbox a few months ago. our coach is teaching us basic punch combos, but started using tkd kicks at the end of my punch combos or replacing the last punch with a type of spin kick because it feels fun to be in the air spin. jab, cross, tornado kick is my favorite one to do.
Men, can i say? I think, your taekwondo is perfect. Your leg kicks is perfect, your hands not bad. U have all reasons to became a world kickboxing champion!
I find it funny that in every video that karate or taekwondo practitioner is the winner, every fucking one tries to make up bullshit excuses about the boxer or other competitor was a rookie, just admit it and get over the fact that in allot of fights, Asian martial arts work
Your kicks are brilliant, but it's painful watching you punch. Coming out swinging like that against someone with any decent boxing/kickboxing experience will get you hurt. Great knock out and can't fault your kicking as it does the job, but hone in your punching technique heavily if you want to really excel. Congrats on the win btw :)
@@gsdgsd1452 agreed, in my muay thai gym there's one person who is a black belt taekwondo but he tried muay thai for fun, he picked up punches, elbows, knees, and clinches very quickly, and he won several matches
Exactly. With a good boxer who is skilled in TKD the fight would have certainly looked differently. But fighting with TKD skills somebody who is not skilled in TKD is like beating a defenseless person, IMO. I even feel now it is somewhat unfair to the opponents ). This is how advantageous TKD footwork and kicking is over other MA that have kicking technics. I am a 41 y.o dude now, but I was a TKD athlete in my country for over 10 years, until 2004. Back in the 90s me and a few other athletes of our local TKD (W.T.F.) union were regularly and very successfully participating in Kickboxing and Karate tournaments, as well as occasionally challenging some even internationally accomplished martial artists (no wrestlers or boxers though). In a gym settings of course , not on a street. That I should say showed us both advantages and flaws of TKD. You can see the advantages in the video. But flaws being the absence of boxing skills in TKD, but that was somehow not an issue, as the majority of people were unable to even get to the range where they could do something. But IDK how i survived those who were able to get to a closer range))) It was a miracle). But if one adds good boxing skills as an add-on to TKD foundation, and keeps playing with the range accordingly when needed using advantages of both arts, that would be the best approach, IMO.
@taekwondo wt taekwondo itf , but don't get it twisted though martial arts is very effective in and of its own self but Taekwondo is something that is not good by itself unless you mix with another martial art
Exactly like I said. A combination of kickboxing with Tae-qwondo is unstoppable in stand up. It's is better in conjunction than the styles by itself. Mixing it with a bit of savate like Kungfu would make it even more unstoppable.
Here come all the lame excuses as to why the non TKD guy lost. TKO hybrid kickboxing is effective. get over it. The guy's got skills people. Sorry you all are just mad you sucked at tkd when you took it.
I was told that he won 3 fights by KO previous to fighting me. I think the first few kicks to the body hurt him pretty badly, and he never recovered from them. It can be shocking to go against someone with a completely different style. Also, this is a highlight, not the full fight.

Coz people who are not used to TKD's explosiveness and footwork are often having problems with defense against it. They simply do not see those kicks. Some of those kicks can be even coming from such unpredictable directions and at unknown angles, even from outside of one's field of view (axe kick or round kick transformed into an axe kick on the go, both as a counterattack ) - that people can't see them coming. Funny thing is that a lot of things that would never work on a somewhat skilled TKD athlete would work on a outsider martial artist unfamiliar with TKD. So some TKD training therefore is advisable - just to get used to the certain TKD specific ranges, attack angles and drills. Up until people become able to recognize kicks on the early fazes. IMO
