Everyone seems to believe their martial art is superior. Fact is no one martial art is. All different styles have their plus and minus's (Some more than others) but end result depends on the fighter. Take what you see as the good points from each art and mould your own style.
But ITF is as close as it gets!
Finally someone who talks some sense, it seems like every martial art has thousands of arrogant followers who all think theirs is the best. I've seen taekwondo fighters beating kickboxers and vice versa. Every style deserves respect in their own right.
Only a fool would believe a single martial art is the best - and that fool completely ignored the original teachings instilled in just about every style.
SyDiko exactly they're missing the point!
Yes well said, I practice Taekwondo myself so have a preference to the Art anyway, but no Art is better than any other, only the fighter who trains in it.
Now that is real tae kwon do. Excellent mix up with the punches and kicks.
I love Taekwon-do ITF. TKD ITF is the best !!! :D
Especially in kickboxing matches, you will fuck all your opponents if you master those axe kicks and spinning kicks
Agree with you
You, sir, are incredibly impressive. A prime example of the importance of hardwork and knowing how to use your hands AND feet to great effect.
Indeed, this ITF guy is BRILLIANT
"There are no dangerous martial arts, only dangerous people." -David Weber
That being said, here are some excellent applications of the ITF style of Tae Kwon Do, my first unarmed combat style though subsequent leg injury has me leaning more to Tang Soo Do and Krav Maga these days. TKD gets a lot of crap, but it was forged together in a prison camp in WWII, and used correctly the moves have solid application.
This video has given me a lot of respect for Taekwondo.
yuk shut up bcz you know shit
jesus sons
Everyone poops. Apart from that, why troll?
I have never understood what the reward is from being rude to random strangers.
I have always been taught that people are worthy of respect.
More than that, in martial arts, it is important to be polite because there are few ways of knowing who can feed you your pinky toe.
The padding, stance, and uniform are wrong for sport TKD, sir. This is ITF not WTF style, which is the sport emphasis/olympic style.
Semi-contact point sparring was our regular training under 9 Dan Kiel Soon Park (4 years under him), and sport never the emphasis. So, we have different experiences with the intent of the sparring. though this was the equipment and technique we used. It was a completely self-defense awareness in our school.
I am an ITF 5th Dan. There are many good natural fighters from all styles but in a sport tournament environment such as this, stamina and fitness is very important but superior technique(defence and offence ) will invariably win. Good fighter.
that TKD guy is an absolute beast!
He is fast, agile, flexible, powerful and skillful
see? taekwondo isn't a bad martial art its all in the fighter
***** Never said i think wtf is great dude i like itf better wtf doesn't make sense to me ima tkd student myself
***** I meant itf wtf takes a lot of my fighting tactics away because I cant hit people In the ace with a fist
andy theGoatman dont forget sefldefence
or just the kick boxer was terrible, look at him
tmWasted did u see his form
Tkd or not this guy does exactly what any effective martial artist needs to do in a multi style comp , adapt and use his skills to beat his opponent by using the techniques allowable within the rules as set out by the organizing body of the competition. You can not strictly only use the traditional skills that you train with against fighters of your own style ,when competing in multi style comps and you come up against fighting styles/techniques that you are not familiar with. You have to adapt quickly. That's why most mixed style comps are messy affairs.
Finally, an actually GOOD tkd fighter on youtube... i was starting to think people simply bought their black belts just to look cool
Yo, please pay a respect to that guys. Even though they have no idea what they were doing, it is worth that they had learned the experience from their more skilled opponent who are trained in ITF Taekwon-Do.
Fueron muchos mas superiores los de Taekwondo, buenas peleas para ambas disciplinas.
1:54 gotta love those axe kicks
Congrats man! Greetings from Organización Mexicana de TaeKwon-Do (ITF Mexico)
TaeKwon
Mma: he's not very good, and his teacher must be rubbish.
Everyone else: yeah... Funny how that works. 😂
undeniable technical superiority. This does not mean that TKD is better, simply does the job training.
I love the turning round- kick. straight to the face
Taekwondo RULES !!!
Amen
yes, but it must be said that the opponents here are just a buch of random bumblers
Still dreaming noob
MMA = Jack of all trades, master of none.
That's not always the case. Sometimes people excel in certain area's in mma. Some people are better strikers than Grapplers vice versa. That goes without saying though some people who excel in those subjects sometimes have background help.
Jejeje cuando un MMA te tira al piso he intenta partirte el brazo o estrangularte, le metes los dedos en los ojos hasta undirselos y se acabo el MMA ni que carajos
Seth Rosenberg Agreed, but I've never seen a master of anything in MMA. I've only ever seen one master of stand-up in my life, and I've been to a great many dojos, gyms, dojangs, etc.
Im gonna use that
Lyoto Machida is a Karate Black belt and a good grappler. Anderson Silva is a Blackbelt in many striking styles bit Great! On the ground. MMA isn't jack of all trades master of nothing. MMA balances the martial art from it's weakneses. It balances stand up striking, clinch fighting, Standing grappling, wrestling, ground n pound and submission grappling.
its like 1 jump and your with the judges... 1 jump and your at the other end. what a space!
Really loved your X-kicks. What I also like is you were very confident with your kicks and you weren't scared to vary them. That's my problem, I sometimes think my opponent is greater then he is and get to scared to use and spin kicks or X-kicks.
All the guys suddenly became martial arts experts? He's a good fighter! Are you from Scotland too?
Yes it does. Just because you train in a Mcdojo doesn't mean everyone else does. It took me 7 years to get a black belt.
Guy is a good TKD fighter. Trouble is, all of his opponents look like poor TKD fighters more than Kickboxers...
wow!!!! felicidades, mucho trabajo en dojan demostrado.
@matthias66 you wrong ( not trying to be in a youtube fight ) the taekwondo guys that doesnt use punch are the ones fomr the WTF ( world taekwondo federation ) that are the ones you see in the olympics for example, the guy in the video is from the ITF ( international taekwondo federation ) that comes form the traditional taekwondo, we use punches and kicks
@WHYNOTMEB4U Please don't take this the wrong way, I mean no disrespect to you in any way, but were you guys "FIGHTING"? or "SPARRING"? Because I understand that in order for you to see a friends or opponents skill, or at least a fraction of his/her skill, you have sparring, which is a safer way of competing. But, and I mean no disrespect, the reason why they were holding back is because TKD is a real martial art with elbows, eye jabs, kicks, etc. So did you spar with them? or fight them?
a good tae kwon do fighter can beat any style but be real there is no best martial arts. You either have a bad teacher or bad student. Ive seen tae kwon do students destroy good mu thai fighters and vice versa.....
i guarantee you have seen no tkd man destroy any equivalent experience muay thai fighter.
And I guess you know all the korean fighters and thai fighters in all history...dont be so brain dead there is no best AND that includes thai.. all depends on a fighters skills.. maybe if you did a little research you would understand. Im guessing your a thai fighter.........
Roy Best You're right man :) Unfortunately, Thai fighters are (in many cases) big-headed persons. I feel bad with it when I surf on the internet because I am Nak'muay too and I think there is no Best like you said.
Swift Buddha exactly
Lechat Boxeur t'es français??
ITF Taekwon-Do is the original Taekwon-Do.
this guy has good axe kicks, thanks for posting the video.
There was no low-kick or knee allowed?
He's very good ! I do kickboxing but i wanna do twd , i did shotokan karate before but i didn like the school! And well glad to see guys that respect martial arts ! That's the best out of a fight , respect
Well, to be fair WTF is mainly for competitions, they don't block or to very much with their arms at all. I've tried both ITF and WTF and I vastly preferred ITF. Don't judge one group based solely on your knowledge of the other. Every martial art has its own good and bad points.
@SuperBluepurple I think it's because some of them is Karate practitioners, too. WKA stands for World Karate and Kickboxing Association. So i guess the WKA has some Karate people in there too.
And the winner is the guy who threw more punches , congratulations boxing .
the guy in the vid is a great fighter no matter what style, but thanks for biggin up tkd, tae kwon
it's not the style that matters it's the person and how they use it
ITF Teakwondo is best ! I very like ITF ;)
after watchin this vid, im proud to be 1 of the ITF members..
hahahah, cheers~
It would be awesome if you could make tutorials and tips for us!
That's because kick boxers do the same basic drills over and over again and fight constantly. They don't take the time to learn the "meat" of the art. ITF TKD teaches that "meat" though forms, one-steps, etc. People think the repetitiveness of kata is pointless, but it trains your body to perform techniques properly, while just fighting can easily teach you bad habits, because you're not focusing on how you're doing what you're doing, just trying to hit someone.
thanks my federation is itf and im red belt its super good
This is not Kickboxing nor mma, this is sport karate (point fighting). There are just a few "continuous sparring" but as done in sport karate.
Those kicks are easily counterable.
If someone is restricted to only kicking, they have no close combat efficeny.
The kickboxers got owned because they tried to fight at a distance which TKD excells at.
@hristovb it's selections, thats why at the beginning they were dominating completely and towards the end it was more even.
damn..the TKD is that good, he makes evryone look odinary.
Depends...if the leg comes with a huge power(90kiloes++) then if you try to catch it your hand will probably break in half.
He's so good at controlling the distance between his legs and his opponents
This Taekwondo practitioner is doing something that most taekwondo fighters don't do- PUNCH! I can't tell you how many taekwondo fights where all they do is KICK, KICK, KICK. If you get inside that kicking range and upload with punches, all the taekwondo guy can do is block the shots.
Combining the kicking power of taekwondo and punching is very effective. Shame more taekwondo guys don't do it :/
it takes an mma fighter around 6-7 years to get a black belt, therefore a blue belt is around 3-4 years of training. In taekwondo it takes someone around 3-4 years of training to get a black belt. so.... the opponents are just about equal but the tkd fighter was much better overall.
Is it legal to hold the kicker's leg and push him down?
it's not the martial art... it's the artist...
It often takes more than 6 years to get a black belt. I know this because i am training ITF.
Serkan Yilmaz K1 fighter.
Cung Le - MMA figther and mma-champion title holder even.
Anderson Silva have had Taekwondo sparring to perfect his kicks.
Lyoto Machida has a background in karate very similar to Taekwondo. Want me to continue?
Nice vid, what group do you do ITF with in Scotland?
Lol @ Millar646
@lorddan91 I have just noticed that if a boxer manages to close the distance, people who usually kick a lot generally don't do as well against them. But then again, if the boxer don't close the distance, he often gets chopped down by kicks to the legs..
What is the level of training of the kick boxers?
Is that the Olympad Leisure Centre?
He is a good fighter. With a correct orientation he can match K-1 tournaments and make a good money..
If its true its not boasting. Im just expressing that mixing TKD is very fun and it works.
Don't hate,just appreciate
this guy has a nice round kick, and really smooth retraction. It'd be fun to fight him.
xsiacaso el peleador q gaan todas las peleas es Matt Brown el d la ufc ??
is it no elbow or knee allowed????
Check out James gridley. Tae kwondo world champion. Now in k1 still uses Itf style and is now European champion. Kickboxers can't touch him. And to clarify tkd was used in Korean war tried and tested they were killing machines. Forget what you see of the sparring side cos that is not tkd, that is the fun side. We have over 4000 moves and some are so vicious you don't understand. E.g long fist to the throat and thumb knuckles to the temples! And as for power nobody comes close to us. (Itf 1st Dan)
Awesome. Thats the same club as me. PUMA ITF in Scotland. Hopefully ill be there one day.
I think the thing most people don't realize about Taekwondo is that there is lots of different types. ITF is more focused of traditional military methods. WTF is the other main one you see. This focuses more on the sports side of things.
Wow good exhibition fights.
You have no idea what you're talking about. MMA fighters usually focus on trying to get their opponent to the ground and go from there. Most other arts teach you to put your opponent on the ground, but not follow them. In a real fight, a properly trained TKD practitioner would use the techniques you're seeing without holding back (unlike free sparring where you do hold back) and the MMA guy would be on the ground in seconds.
A good Taekwondo practitioner is aware of that and if they participate in MMA, they will learn to deal with that. Watch Cung Le, his turning back kick is superb, that's a typical application of TKD in MMA.
MMA fighters that I've met and sparred all depend solely on takedowns. In most TKD vs MMA videos, the fighters are allowed to do takedowns, so it always appears that the TKD person loses; that's because in TKD and most Karate styles, you're taught to end the fight as soon as it start (a swift-powerful kick to the head) and put your opponent down. In controlled fights, you can't do that. Therefore, the MMA fighters gets the advantage in a controlled fight.
That's because there are many deffensive styles that can negate the one punch-kick ko. Also, is not an easy task to do on a trained fighter, therefore ir you lack ok grappling or clinch game you are mostly done
outside of the cage im just a regular guy, when im in the cage and im against you its different, nobody has taught me sportmanship nor respect in my gym and it is the best in my state and probably in the top 10 nationwide. its a matter of perspective.
@MegaSlayerr Tkd techniques incude leg kicks and clinch as well as knees and elbows strikes, alsow self defence. It is not used in competitions because this is the formule. TKD was created for military, and it is one of the most complete technique. MT is only about stand up on the ring.
excellent fighther.... youre moves are incredibles...
The real Kickboxing is the Kickboxing with K-1 rules. That is "full-contact" Kickboxing
@masterofkenpokarate ITF tkd doesnt only teach u on kicks it teaches u how to punch too, he couldve done boxing but its more likely he learned how to punch fast in ITf tkd
This video is so far away from MMA. What are you doing putting that in the title?
Ya, I think Taekwon-do is better than all the others. Of course I do. It's my martial art. I don't mean to be bias but...
go against a wrestler, or an actual good fighter instead of some dumb autist kickboxer
That is what happens when you are going against TKD without learning it strengths and weaknesses first.
Try an experienced kyokushin fighter.
If you ever win... you're good.
Nah son, i get more enjoyment watching an MMA fighter kick a TKD "fighters" ass.
hey, anyone can recomend me what sport to choose? kick boxing or tae kwon do?
Yep, that's pretty much what it is.
@ApollosInsight Actually, competitions allow punches, just not to the face, but it's pretty hard scoring. I scored once, but it was cause the guy had his guard down and was dizzy cause he got hook kicked to the face.
wat type of TKD did u use ITF or WTF?
wooow thats soo amazing *o* i would really like to try such a fight against a kick boxer too.. a real good experiment.
awsome your pretty good, i love both tkd and kickboxing
thats because tkd is one martial art and ufc and mma are multiple fused together to expand on ones training. ergo MIXED martial arts...... lots of mma fighters use tkd style kicks because they are faster. soo your point is moot lol thanks for coming out though.
the tkd guy where great (in my oppinion)
Great !
What this song ? ;D
El chico de taekwon-do esta en otro nivel que los otros de kickboxing, se ve claramente, le tienen que poner a uno que este en su mismo nivel, simple.
whos in the Tkd?
How old is this kid....?
who´s that taekwondo fighter?
I am a tkd guy but looks like experienced black belts vs not so experienced kick boxers.
why do you say then that it takes 5 years to have black belt ?, do they give a belt away when you can do the spinning kick or what lol ?
I kickbox and use taekwondo and there both very effective in different ways
@imthebigbadwolf it's a stand up bout with mma fighters...
So this one guy actually beat all these fighters?
@MANOFJESUS777 where's ur video big man?
