Just found this!!! I have been buying them and one i bought was to big so i took it apart and cut it down. Found out how it was made and now i have made several all sizes. Thanks! I am going to try the casserole cozy. I think these would make great items for the fundraiser we do every year.
Love it!! I have lots of small projects made with the Boxed Bag Template that would make great handmade gift items - Drawstring bag, glasses case, ice cream cozy, canvas tote, wine bag... so many more!
Hi Carolina! Thank you for this tutorial! Learning the general rules is so helpful. I usually make one size cozy pattern and hope that it fits all bowl sizes. Love that plate cozy too!
Love this video! I had actually bought a couple of different sets of templates to cut out the fabric for the cozies, but after watching your tutorial, I’m sending them back.
Carolina, I am trying to gain access to the cheat sheet you were talking about in this video, but I have had no success. I will tell you that I am a little bit technology challenged 😊
@QueenB-nt6ox there are several steps, so I need to know where you got hung up. 1. Go to the link. 2. Scroll to the sign-up box. 3. Type in your email. Press submit. 4. Go to your email inbox. It should be right there. 4a. If not, Go to your spam. It should be on top. Select the email, mark "not spam" and "move to inbox." Go back to inbox. 5. Open email. Click the download button. 6. It will automatically download to your default folder. For most people this is the "downloads" folder. Find it there. ❤️
This is the easiest ever! I have a friend who says she absolutely hates making bowl cozies. I am going to share this video. Maybe you can come back to Ridgecrest soon and teach us! It might happen. I would love to bring my granddaughters to class with me. I think this would be a perfect project for them. Also, I would like to make cozies to help store my good stoneware. Thank you!
I had templates for the pointed corner cozies but just bought the boxed bag template and can't wait to make new cozies. Saw a sample at a local quilt store and immediately bought the ruler and bowl cozy pattern, came home and looked for your channel:)
Thanks for buying the template and pattern at a local quilt shop - I love supporting local quilt shops!! And thanks for looking me up - so glad you're here! ❤️
oh THANK you so much!! I had it figured out except for making the darts to fit my bowls. With your help the air is cleared and now i can bowl cozy my little heart out lol
Thank you! I have a cozy template that I got in a subscription box but it only makes the one common size and didn’t really have an idea of how to make it work for the other sizes I wanted. Thankfully I had treated myself to your boxed bag template when it came out and can play with that soon! Maybe get fancy and do a taller skinny one for ice cream pints 😂😜
Thank you so much for all the information on the cozy especially the plate cozy I have a The Accu quilt go and I love it but I don’t have the plate one❣️🪡✂️🧵
I bought the pattern. But I know how to make a hem but I thought. Was getting a paper template. It’s a start. But I got how to use the templates. Is there a pattern for the template that I can print? I loved your video
The Boxed Bag Template is an Acrylic Template, as shown in the video. To cut the darts, you wouldn't want a paper template, you might cut too far into the fabric. The acrylic template protects the fabric. ❤️ Glad you enjoyed the video! ❤️
I'm sure there are! I ship to a couple Canadian Distributors. I don't have their customer lists, though... but any shop in Canada should be able to special order one for you from their distributor. ❤️
I have been trying to find the template that you’re using and I can’t seem to find it anywhere. What name should I be looking for it under? I was quite inspired by your video and I want to get started but I don’t know where to get the template played out, if you could help me, that would be great. Thank you very much.
The template is the Boxed Bag Template. You can check with your local quilt shop or buy it from my online shop here: carolinamoorepatterns.com/products/boxed-bag-template-pre-order
I bought the pattern and ruler at a local quilting store. No matter what I do, I cannot access the cheat sheet. I've checked and rechecked that I am entering my email address correctly and I still have not received an emailed copy of the sheet.
It will only send it out the first time you put in your email address (to prevent bots from using my forms to spam people). The form will ignore additional tries. You can check your spam folder for the time/date of the first time you filled out the form to see if if got stuck in there. If it isn't in your spam folder, just email me at carolina@carolinamoore.com and I'll send it to you. 🥰

I'm sorry you are disappointed, but also confused. I specifically say in this video that you need both the pattern and the cheat sheet to make the bowl cozy. I don't ever promise it is all going to be free. I am a pattern designer. I make my living selling patterns. While I do offer some things for free (every month I offer a new free quilt block pattern to those on my newsletter list, I have tons of free tutorials here on TH-cam, and several free quilt patterns on my blog), if I offered everything for free I would not be in business very long... and then I wouldn't offer any more free things at all! The pattern is $4. It isn't outrageously priced. ❤

wow,I love this tutorial,it’s the only one I saw that tells you how to cut your darts!!!AWESOME I’ll definitely be following your tutorials
Thank you for the tips as far as the depth goes. Very helpful!
My pleasure! 🥰
Thank you for a great explanation of this process. 🥰
Glad it was helpful! ❤️
I've used a glass to cut curves in a pinch. The template is helpful!
Yes... some people have a favorite plate they use to cut curves. 🥰
I just bought the template, I'm excited to make these bowl cozies to give out for Christmas.
such fun gifts!!

Do not concern yourself anymore this technologically challenged person figured it out

I've made 15 of these. I handsewed them all, since I no longer have a sewing machine. I enjoyed doing them this way. It's therape utic, I think.
Yes!! Sometimes, Handsewing is just the best. 🥰
I'm making a Christmas one now. I think they can be used as a bowl. Just put a pretty Christmas napkin in it and use it for rolls, candy, etc.
Yes! They can be great bowls. 🥰
Wow!!!
@sueferrell1932 🥰🥰🥰
Thanks so much for the demo and free download sheet on how to make cozy for different sizes. I always enjoy your patterns and video.🥰
My pleasure! Thanks for taking the time to comment! 🥰

Oh, maybe! I think I'm pretty booked for 2023... might have to look at 2024...

An ice cream pint pattern is in the works already ... hopefully will launch it soon! 🥰
A wonderful help. Thank you
Yay! Glad it was helpful!

thank you Carolina!
You're welcome! 🥰
Thank you!

Participating in the Crafting for Profits Camp. See that you went to UCSD. I went there, too, and then worked there. Go Tritons! Small world.
Small world indeed! 🥰

Do you use just one single batting for the bowl cozy? I’ve tried making one with 2 battings and it was very thick when I top stitched it.
Do you prewash fabric
Is there any stores in Canada that you can purchase the Boxed Bag Template? (Other than Amazon)
I'm sure there are! I ship to a couple Canadian Distributors. I don't have their customer lists, though... but any shop in Canada should be able to special order one for you from their distributor. ❤️
How do I order this template?

How can I get pattern and ruler?

I made reversible I'm different patterns.
SEW fun!! I've made same-fabric and two-fabric versions as well. 🥰

Did I miss where you sewed it together?
The instructions for how to construct the bowl cozy is a paid pattern: carolinamoorepatterns.com/collections/digital-download-patterns/products/bowl-cozy-digital-download
Так долго говорила и так и ничего не сшила 😢
This translates to "I talked for so long and still didn't sew anything."
Um... I'm describing a process here. I didn't need to sew to explain it?
Wish I could see your video better.
Why can't you see it well?
I'm disappointed that you didn't include how to sew the bowl cozy together. Very disappointed that your "free" instructions are not really free.
I'm sorry you are disappointed, but also confused. I specifically say in this video that you need both the pattern and the cheat sheet to make the bowl cozy. I don't ever promise it is all going to be free.
