Thank you for sharing. I just bought the templates and needed a tutorial for using them. i appreciate your simple and precise teaching. Got my Christmas cotton fat bundle and batting, so ready for Christmas gift-giving. New subscriber who will check out your other videos. Thanks again.
I made my own templates for my bowls I refuse to pay 25. For these templates. Plus they are to small for my bowls, but I did enjoy your teaching how to use these because you speak clear and slow enough to follow
This is more easy tutorial for you and the best templates are by creative grids, a good resource for crafting and quilting. They make a lot of the templates we use.
I have that what works best for me is to quilt one square and one piece of batting then the other and after that cut them with the template. 1they are then the same size and I can use my sewing machine quilt patterns.
i ordered these cause i love the idea of not measuring too much.. and i wanted the larger size.... my first attempt was the small one...2 layers of batting is way too much. my... i am going to have to find a way thinner batting.... and along with 'clipping... i would trim as much of the batting out of the seam allowance to allow for an easier 'turn' ...i did 1/2 " seam at the top... made turning easier... what weight and type of batting did you use.... i would like to actually see you do the turn and the top stitching.... but i have to say... seeing the templates was intimidating... but the video was clear and precise. ... thank you
These look fantastic! Such an improvement on the previous templates. I have tried looking for them, but cannot find anyone selling them. Where are they available? Even the sources that list them are saying “no stock.”

Hello, another fun video with interesting content! I had a busy day in my sewing room but now I get to sit and hand quilt while I watch! I hope you have a lovely week ahead! Thank you or sharing your time, talent and expertise!
Sadly my pieces all came out a little differently. 😟 I'm marveling at the video seeing how they are all so perfect! Especially the batting; I used Wrap N Zap & it was very thick to fold & rotary cut. I'm wondering if the Gypsy is less bulky?
If using Wrap-n-Zap, I would suggest using only one layer of batting. The thickness of the Wrap-n-Zap will make it hard to turn the edges when you turn the bowl right side out. Another option is to use two layers and finish the edges with bias binding, making the bowl extra thick, and super cute.

Yes! The small bowl cozy template works with the Gypsy Quilter’s precut bowl cozy batting (TGQ036), the other template with the large Gypsy Quilter’s (TGQ103).
I appreciate the way that you showed us this. Can Wrap-n-zap be used instead of regular cotton batting and if using that, would I still need two layers?
I use the wrap and zap and it's much thicker than what it's showing here and a little harder to work with but it's perfect for really hot soup or ice cream. I've made so many of the cozy's with wrap & zap.

I am a bit confused... The Creative grides templates calls for either 11'"or 16" squares. The precuts from Gipsys batting are 10.5 or 15.5. How can the precuts be used with these templates???? Thank you...
Thank you for clear instructions. I’m curious why you’d want to cut the batting by hand - as in the second half of the video for the large cozy - instead of just cutting it folded like for the small one. Isn't it 4 times the work? Did I miss something?
What kinde of batting do you yuse it looks thinner than mine mine is pretty thick and usually when I use two battings it's very bulky so could you please tell me what kind of batting you use I like it
We are using The Gypsy Quilter 100% Cotton Batting. It comes in multiple size options. 10in x 10yds, 12in x 10yds, 18in x 10yds and 24in x 10yds. We just cut off the roll. There is also the option to use their pre-cut 100% battings. Large Bowl Cozy Pre-cut Batting 8ct and Bowl Cozy Pre-cut Batting 8ct.

Hello there. Since this template has 2 pieces we did show the instructions for both in the video. Even though they are the same, we wanted to be sure our customers knew that. We rather over-explain than not explain enough and leave people with questions. We also showed an alternative way to use the template as some people will prefer that method. Thanks for watching!
@@CreativeGridsUSA I don’t think that is what they meant. You showed at the beginning folding and cutting the fabric and and batting which totals four pieces. I think this person was just suggesting that you only need to show cutting it one time and then let everybody know to repeat for the rest.
I bought these templates a year ago and I just now decided to use them to make Christmas gifts. They are so easy to use and it goes fast. Thank you.
Thank you. You taught with very concise and calm directions, leaving no questions needed to be answered. Great job. 👍
I appreciate the full and slower explanation. Very easy to understand. Love your rulers. This will be the next gift giving item. Thank you.

I’m going to make some with raggy edges, like raggy quilts.
Amazing!!! I make these a lot but this ruler will be a best friend to me! She’s going to have to come home with me. Hope the price is right. 😛😍
Great instructor!

I have used that batting before and you just want to trim off the excess before you turn it right side out.

see my comment above
how much ?? and how do I order both ?!!
What type of bedding do you use
Does this template make bowl cozies the same size as the Gypsy Quilter’s pre-cut batting?
Yes! The small bowl cozy template works with the Gypsy Quilter’s precut bowl cozy batting (TGQ036), the other template with the large Gypsy Quilter’s (TGQ103).
@@CreativeGridsUSA , thank you!
My wrap n zap batting way too thick to cut with template and rotary cutter!
キルト芯は何がいいですか?インターネットで調べました。わからないです。教えてもらいませんか?
Yes it was nice to show the alternative regarding not using the template for the batting however that is just way too time-consuming
I would have liked to see you actually do the sewing and finishing on the bowl.
I appreciate the way that you showed us this. Can Wrap-n-zap be used instead of regular cotton batting and if using that, would I still need two layers?

Quilters select would probably be better than the warm and natural which is what I’m going to use lol

Do you Put Double batting INSIDE?

yes you need thinner... 100% cotton... mine was tooo thick
Can you trace and hat cut?
Wrap n zap microwave safe batting 😀
Could you use stabiliser on one piece of fabric?
100 % cotton
You didn’t show the full closing/ sewing which is what I really needed to see
Can Anti-Fleece be used as batting in the Cody bowls and would it be ok in the microwave?
Please check the fiber content and only use 100% cotton.
What Markers do you use?
In this video specifically we are using the Frixon Pilot pens that disappear with heat.
What size fabric squares?
Varies on which size bowl you are making, 16" for large and 11" for small.
Where did you get the batting from? The batting I bought from Joanns seems to be a lot thicker than the one you are using?

@@louiselovescrafting6802I sure did!! For Christmas this year.
My wrap n zap batting way too thick to cut with template and rotary cutter!
You would want to use a 60mm blade for something that thick
