Geraldine Jones (portrayed by Flip Wilson) came two decades before Wanda and Sheneneh. She was the OG! She put catchphrases like "When you're hot, you're hot, and when you're not, you're not" and "What you see is what you get" into everyday vernacular.

This is probably the funniest skit that has ever been on tv. Hurts my face everytime I watch it.
You asked about the "Miss Hi Pro Glow" part. The dog food brand Alpo ran commercials back then claiming their line of dog food called Hi-Pro gave dogs a shiny healthy coat they termed the "Hi-Pro Glow".
Another funny skit from In Living Color is Jim Carrey doing his impersonation of a female bodybuilder named "Vera De Milo". It's freakin' hilarious.

In Living Color is one of the best shows ever. The incredible performers were given a lot of leeway for improvisation. Led to some of the funniest sketches ever shown on TV

My 9th-month pregnant wife went into false labor when we were watching Jim Carrey in Ace Ventura - Pet Detective for the first time. After we checked her into the maternity ward, things calmed down, and we returned home. A couple weeks later, a healthy 10-pound baby boy.
The real show was called "The Dating Game" and the set looked exactly like that. The audience could see all the participants the whole time, but the people on either side of the partition couldn't see each other until the end. The winner of the date didn't see who they were going with until after they were chosen. That's why this skit is funny.
Jamie Fox made sure none of the other actors saw him prior to the taping so all their reactions are legit. Brilliant.
Wanda came before Shenehnah, but Flip Wilson was doing Geraldine in the '70s, which is the true genesis.
Wanda actually came first literally months before Sheneneh first appeared (Sept. 3, 1992). In Living Color started in 1990 but Wanda first appeared early/mid '92, so Wanda was first.

I just watched you watch Paul Anka Having My Baby… they I saw this and decided to watch ONG I’m so glad I did. The oldest portrayal of this l know of is Flip Wilson as Geraldine back in the mid 60's early 70's l believe. He was awesome, l loved watching him and Carol Bernett, as well as Laugh In. Great skits and comedy.
In the 1970s, there was Geraldine Jones played by Flip Wilson. "The devil made me do it!"

The funniest Wanda skit to me is the one where she is a masseuse. Especially the unaired blooper version.
Also, the " Men On" skits are hilarious. Especially "Men On Fitness".
The Dating Game was a game show where one subject was divided from three contestants vying for a date by a partition- as the subject asked the contestants questions. As contestants were eliminated one by one they came to the subjects side and met them then left the stage. Serial Killer Rodney Alkalon was a contestant( bachelor #1) on the show
Pee wee Herman and Andy Kaufman were on as contestents....in character.
Fun fact, Martin and Jaime, both brought those two characters together for a little short clip at the BET awards, called “skank, robbers“

High Pro Glow was a commercial years ago about dog food. Once the dog ate the high pro dog food, it was so nutritious, it gave the dog a shinny coat, in other words, the High Pro Glow. Get it.

You need to react to the skit when it comes out that Wanda was originally in En Vogue. All four beautiful ladies appear in the skit and when they do "it's time for a breakdown" from "(My Lovin') You're Never Going To Get It" is off the chart.
Wanda came first as Jamie Foxx joined "In Living Color" in 1991 and Wanda's first appearance was on Season 3 Episode 18 "Ugly Wanda: Masseuse" that aired on February 9th, 1992. "Martin" started on August 27th, 1992. Sheneneh first appeared in season 1 episode 6 "Forever Sheneneh" that aired on October 1st, 1992.
rumor has it that none of the guys had seen Jamie in his "Wanda" get up before they actually came over and met her - hence the genuine reactions from them all !!!

During the 1960's and 1970's there was a real show called The Dating Game. The format as shown in the skit was the same as on the show where the three bachelors were hidden on stage from the female contestant. The two not chosen were introduced first and then the winning bachelor met his date for the first time. This show was considered risque for this time period due to the questions asked by the contestant and responses given by the three potential winners.

The Dating Game ran from 1965 - 1986 and according to IMDB, Jim Carrey, Tom Selleck, Arnold Schwarzenegger, among other stars was a contestant on the show. Chuck Berris (The Gong Show) was a co-creator of the show.

I remember Wanda but I didn't remember this skit. Oh my goodness my sides hurt! I'm like "Ooooh Britt don't pop the baby out!" 🤣 I'm guessing the guys didn't see Jamie in costume before they filmed because those reactions are genuine! So... I was like maybe 11 or 12 when this aired. Is this where "Ret ta go!" came from? Man this show was classic in so many ways!
In Living Color was and still is one of the BEST EVER comedy shows that graced the small screen. Jamie and whomever put together Wanda were geniuses, as were everyone of the Wayans family and Jim. The Fly Girls were awesome as well.
I noticed that you have not reacted to "White Chicks" the movie that the Wayan's brothers directed, produced and starred in. Even if you are not going to do a reaction, this movie is a MUST-SEE. Saw it in real time back in the day and this show was a group watch with my friends. These actors were absolutely hilarious. This show could not be made today without being protested.

This episode was in May 1992. Martin started airing in August 1992. Martin Lawrence said that Shenene and Wanda were supposed to make a movie together but it never ended up happening.
Flip Wilson used to dress up as a female character named Geraldine in skits on his TV specials as far back as 1972.
Tommy Davidson was the unlucky winner of this episode. This show was insanely funny! Many great comedic minds. Vericosa mistress of pain was one of my favorites.

You're somehow pretending that no one ever got offended back then? Really? Cuz I was definitely alive and aware then, and a LOT of people got offended. Especially a particular religious group who began the entire satanic panic because they demanded the entire nation needed to hate rock music, Dungeons and Dragons, any movie involving any witch/vampire/werewolf/sorcery/magic/religion other than theirs in a good light/any people not straight/anyone wearing clothing they didnt deem appropriate and much much more.
