It turned out really awesome. It's a genuine reliable rider that's not so nice you don't want to take it out and get it dirty.
Exactly! thanks Hanky
Agreed 👍
Restored all my three wheelers I purchased in 80’s(one new) 1983 185s, 1985 200x and 1985 250r. Videos on my channel if you want to see the projects.
It looks like you may underestimate your trike!, it is fast now , and if i understand correctly, you are going to a taller tire as in stock 83/84, bet you would hit 70ish!. The trike turnedout beautiful, it is so nice to see a clapped out old dog, turned back into the rocket it once was, wish i could do that to me lol, keep turning out the awesome vibeos n i'll keep watching as long as i can, BE SAFE!
I'm building a 200x from the ground up hopefully my next one will be a 250r.
The 200x was my first sport machine, they are great machines.
Thanks
Had really the most you tube fun ever.
Im glad you liked it.
Leave the 18s on and regear for them. Thats the way to go man! Those turf tires make for good slides and thats what makes good lap times. Now have a beer and jam some Tesla! 🤟🤟
Thanks Michael, i rode it twice today, im playing with air pressure. Its a blast to ride.
Patients is key for building three wheelers more time less money, more money less time
Thats a great way of putting it. Thanks for watchi g
great job! I'm trying bring back that 85 350x on 3ww right now. half the fun is finding parts and fixing stuff.
Its like being Indiana Jones
I trust you're OK, just quiet. The last time I came up missing, it was over 6 years later till I emerged from the darkness. Be Well.
Yes sir im fine, its soring time and im getting some projects done around the house. This weekend I am i stalling a screen porch.
@@mrcbuilds We are covered in fresh snow, 30 degrees, no screens in sight! My Brute Force 750 is calling and we're going to open my trails. Good luck and enjoy the weather.
Awsome bike..definitely seems quick..these bikes are unobtainable where I live..love to have one..I'm currently building a 200x and find ur videos very helpful..but parts for that are the same..ebay only pretty much..I'm in n.s Canada 🇨🇦..I had to get forks on ebay from California hus as an example..keep up the builds ✌️
Hi Aaron, parts can be hard, i dont know the rules on shipping to canada from the US but i know there is 2 active atc groups in Canada, id suggest join them if you havent and network through them for parts and machines. Thanks for watching and yes the 2nd gen 250r is faster and lighter than your 200x but its the same size.
Hopefully you are on the mend and will be able to continue with whatever life has in store for you. Two reasons I strayed away from kick start machines, size 15eeee boots and the jarring motion of the kick. I'm down to 1 pull start only, machine, and without constant adjustments, I wind up riding something else. One of my nephews came up from Atlanta and we rode 6 different machines until the rain and mud got to be a pain in the ass. Last time we rode 5 and next time we'll shoot for 7. Not bad for a kid that never rode before his last visit. Well, I'm back at the ranch all week and that keeps me pretty busy, so I'll be moving along and continue to wish you the best. Over and out.
Im good, spending this week with family. I understand the concern with kick machines. Seems im going in the wrong direction lol. I may ha e to find me a goki lol
I like the 2nd gen R but we both know our 3rd gens are king! Any idea what happened to MC Garage channel? I noticed his vids are gone from the tube. I know you guys talked outside of TH-cam.
Matt is good just busy.
I luckily have about the same money in my 82atc250r it came in buckets
Funny how that is, parts add up for sure.
Hey, I have a cam chain that doesn’t have enough slack to put back on the shaft I’ve tried loosening it but it won’t. Any ideas to get more slack out of it?
What engine? Check out my live video on how to set the timing of your 3 wheeler, i cover how to reinstall the chain. Put it on the gear and then pry it up onto the shelf it sits on.
What size tire do you plan on running? Mine has 22s and don't seam to pipe out like it should so I'm thinking 20s would bring my revs up and make it easier for the motor to turn a smaller tire. The 22 are pretty aggressive too so want something I can drift a tad and not worry about hooking to hard in a turn
I like 20s tall enough to get a little roll, short enought to slide. They stay square when mounted. Plus they lower the machine alittle from 22s.
Great job brother.
Thanks Cain
Idk Yamaha Banshee is and always will be over valued just like some 250r 3 and 4 wheeled
Hard to beat this much fun for less than 2k. Lol Thanks for watching.
@@mrcbuildsfor sure
Great video
Thank you Tyler, Welcome to the Channel
Hey buddy, you flashed my 82 R ($3900) my trike has been front to back mechanical only restored with everything replaced, rebuilt or serviced including a fresh top end. Remember to include information when it regards period add ons. Worx, Westcoast, Durablue etc and their costs which are included on my trike that can add $ to the costs . Good video !
You have a very nice 250r, one of the nicer ones for sale right now.
@@mrcbuilds appreciate that! It is right and tight
@@mrcbuilds Will actually increase in $ soon as I’m adding a full Kerker exhaust to it soon. If you’re interested, or know someone looking for a fully done trike, get with me. I’m located in Central Florida
I like your Van Halen build
Thanks Jason.
Another fantastic job!
Thanks Neil. I really enjoyed this build.
Did you ever decide on a name?
I have it narrowered done to 3, i will announce very soon
Great job with the trike. Love the vids, very educational for us people trying to fix our three wheelers. Was just riding my 82 250r today, had a little too much fun and it leaned out and blew up in the top end. Do you have any particular site that you source your parts from? I'm looking to order all the parts necessary to rebuild it. It has a 330 big bore kit the previous owner had installed.
Hi NogaroChase, i like wiseco products. I buy them through ebay, amazon or directly from wiseco. You are may need to look for a custom set up from one of the specialty guys building big bore kits.
@@mrcbuilds Thank you, I appreciate the quick response. I took the head off today and figured out it has a 71mm wiseco piston(#431M07100), the walls seem okay and didn't really get scored I just melted the piston. Should be able to clean it up and get it back running soon.
@@NogaroChase melting the piston generally mean you were running very lean, I would do a leak down test and if that passes check for a leak in your intake, spry it with some carb cleaner while running, if the rpm increase you have a ait leak, if all that checks out, than you need to increase your jet size, read your plug and adjust.
no chain slider?
I didnt want a red one, im still looking for a black one, also tank scoops and a few other small items. Rome wasnt built in a day.lol
Nice job on the build except the riding lawnmower tires.😂. Love your channel. Learning lots of things
Hi Matt, you may be surprised how many flat trackers run thise tires. Thanks for watching.
Congrats, when I saw the pic last night I knew they were 18's. Got all of my 4 wheelers running great, 2 out of 6 three wheelers have been thru the shop and I'll be bringing them all in before the ground dries up. Right now the shop is building a "Hybrid", which is an aftermarket trx250r frame, a Yamaha 426 dirt bike engine, and a list of parts a mile long. I haven't seen this kind of excitement out of these guys in a while, it should be a screamer. The last time it raced the photo hangs in the office of the boss hitting a jump and getting at least 10 feet of air before heading back to earth. Another thing I'll enjoy from a distance! Enjoy yourself, my day had me riding 6 different machines around the property plus a trip down to the ranch and I got to see sunshine!
Be careful on that hybrid! Lol
Like others, I vote for keeping the 18” tires and changing sprockets! Great series JJ a great bike!
Im looking into other gearing options. I really like the 18s too.
Awesome video, loved the details on the build. Good running machine.
Thanks Pat yes it is, i rode it twice more today.
@mrcbuilds awesome man that's what it's all about. Got my 250 big red out and maintained some roads today. And had a beer while doing it, that my happy place lol.
