Since Borobudur is as a matter of fact not only one of the indonesian representative culture from its age but the world's heritage as well hopefully our children, grand grand children, great great grand children will also witness it. That's why we all need to work together to protect and conserve this amazing temple this wonderful world heritage. Stay healthy. Warm love big hugs from your fan in Boyolali

Since I'm a history buff & a myth lover, Borobudur & Prambanan were great sites to learn about. I read that it had so many temples within the Prambanan complex but some are destroyed by earthquakes & volcanicn activity for hundreds of years before rediscovered during the Dutch colonial era.
The myth of Prambanan was about a warrior prince who fell in love with a princess after he killed her father, the king, in battle. But the princess obviously refused his love because he killed her father. The princess challenged him to build 1000 temples in 1 night before roosters crow to mark the next day or she won't marry him. Because his love was sincere, he called spirits to help him to build 1000 temples. The princess saw that he was at the 999th temple before the roosters crowing. Because she still didn't want to marry him, she woke a rooster up so it can crow & make other roosters throughout the city crow as if a new day had begun. Hearing the roosters, the spirits went away. The warrior prince thought he failed, but he soon learned that he was decieved by the princess. So, he went to the princess & cursed her, turning her into a stone. In this way, she became a feature of the final temple, completing its construction and finishing her challenge. Tragic.

I'm an Indonesian, it's true that the information is just a fairy tale, nothing more than a gossip story. The temple was certainly built by a famous and largest kingdom in Java at that time.😃

    Alina,
I have not commented in awhile as I have been out traveling myself but your Indonesia content has been excellent. The fact that you have explored places in addition to Bali is wonderful as Bali is not the only place in the country as some You Tubers might suggest.
By the way, I just returned from a trip that included a good deal of time in Albania and stops in Ohrid, North Macedonia and I must say that your excellent past content from both places was instrumental in me making this foray. To those who would like to check out that excellent material, I believe it was about two years ago.
Looking forward to your continuing great work.

One thing I LOVE about Alina Mcleod and Canada/Canadian culture is how stable, centred and calm! I am planning to move there permanently from the UK to permanently escape toxic culture! The US, England and Australia "pride" themselves on being aggressive, profane, confrontational and hostile! This is NOT the same as being confident, assertive, calm and empowered! This is what Alina Mcleod successfully taught me!

Alina , Hope you are doing ok. Harriet and I took a tour with (my brother who lives just outside of Jakarta) of Yogyakarta. All the sites you filmed we enjoyed immensely. Did you get to go to
the History Museum (Fort Vredeburg Museum) It's a display of Indonesia struggle for independence. Something to check out. We love you dearly Alina 🙏❤🙏 Harriet, Jim and Yuki

There are lots of places to go to in Indonesia. This country is as big as the mainland US in terms of combined land and water masses. Lotta hidden gems are scattered across all 34 provinces. Just remember to not wander around after 10pm here, just in case.

Very beautiful film that show how wonderful Yogyakarta with Borobudur and Prambanan.
I am sorry the entry pass a bit pricey, because the fund they use for preserve the stone and stupa that very expensive. After the mount Merapi erupted so the stupa must be clean and preserve again. It needs special expert to hands on that treatment.

That makes sense. Happy to pay for its preservation!

Charcoal in the coffee does work. In South Africa, the Afrikaner community has a traditional way of making coffee when they go camping or hunting where the coffee grounds are cooked in a large pot for ten to twenty minutes when a flaming log with embers is plunged into the coffee. The grounds sink to the bottom and the resultant coffee is the smoothest you will ever taste.

Amazing video, really enjoyed the architectural diversity of Yogyakarta overall. But Kopi Joss (charcoal coffee) definitely takes the cake here- it's the process to make a coffee that fascinates me the most. Between this and blowing torch coffee you tried in Lyiv, which one did you enjoy the most?

haha great question. Kopi Joss was definitely tasty but I think the blowtorch was next level!

I once came to the chicken / dove church through an exotic village with steep paths that go up and down, inside the church there is a prayer room for Muslims as well as a place for ablution to clean themselves before praying which is next to a meditation place for Hindus and Buddhists
