Dear Jimmy, I’m writing this while watching you stream GT2 live for its 20th anniversary. I’m hoping this message won’t be too long but there’s a lot I have to thank you for. So I’m 23 and I live in Cornwall. Summer of 2018, I graduated from Uni with a photography degree. I had the whole world at my feet, yet I couldn’t get any jobs. I ended up working for Weatherspoons, which was soul sucking. Just before Christmas ‘18 they fucked me over and I lost my job. Then started the darkest part of my life. I went onto benefits and had to spend the Christmas period struggling for cash and self worth. I had stumbled across your videos earlier in the year and that had encouraged me to buy a decent sim wheel, a Thrustmaster T300, and I had been reworking my way through the Codemasters F1 games, starting with F1 2010, working my way through career mode to F1 2019. I used sim racing and watching your videos as a way of distracting myself from all my problems. Especially watching your videos as I knew you had been through similar and worse, and I had seen how you turned yourself around, and you have a bunch of loyal, loving followers that were supporting you during the GT5 live-streams, and hearing your stories and watching the racing would always make me feel better. In January ’19 things finally turned around for me. I finally got a job interview for a new company in Cornwall called Player Ready Virtual Reality, a VR arcade with 4 vives for zombie shooters, beat saber etc, and 7 VR racing pods with Project Cars 2. Thank god for me, they liked me and I’ve been working for them for almost a year now and I love the job so much! The company has doubled in size, and I feel incredibly valued and I get to do crazy things like weddings and events, one of which I have not shut up about. We were invited to Cornwall Motorfest in Newquay, where we took 2 of our VR sim rigs. We were running Renault Megane Touring cars around Cadwell Park. The ‘headline act’ of the event so to speak was Tom Ingram, the touring car driver. Tom came over to is and set a time of 1:28.564. By the end of the day I had beaten his time by 0.1 seconds. On the second day however, I set a lap time of 1:27.720! Over a second quicker and I have not shut up about it, nor have I erased our leaderboard from the event. So hey, if you were ever struggling for an idea for a video, Cadwell Park in a Megane Touring, in Project Cars 2, in VR on a default setup. I’ll even add you time to our leaderboard. I was also involved with friend from my former uni in starting up a Motorsports Society, in which a number of us will meet up to watch F1, Indycar and sometimes your streams. There are also a couple of us who have bought Abruzzi gloves and boots due to your sponsorship. Anyway I digress. I just wanted to say a huge thank you for I guess simply being you. I’ve seen people tell you before, but you really do help people who are feeling down or who are struggling with depression and mental health. I know that it’s something that hits close to home/shed with you, but even just watching you fail Gran Turismo licenses over and over again is a great distraction. And knowing your history with what you’ve gone through with things like your Dad and ex-fiancé and seeing how far you’ve come, travelling the world with the legendary Gran Turismo and being a commentator with your lisp is a huge inspiration! You were the first person I was doing VR Racing and I feel so incredibly honoured and lucky to be able to race in VR everyday as a job! I owe a lot of my passion and motivation to you. It was an honor getting to share the track with you and such an amazing community at Zolder. Having just recently lost Michael, to be a part of something that meant so much to me and those who are effected by mental health issues regularly was overwhelming. I was crying like a baby the last 30 minutes taking it all in, knowing how many people we potentially helped save. Was by far and large my favorite sim racing moment of 2019. Hey buddy, I just wanted to let you know that 2019 had been pretty hard for me too. I couldn't migrate to a better country as I wanted, my wife split up with me, my company's boss ran away with my salaries and my idiot parents sold my half-done car project for some firewood. But there were some good things as well, so I chose to learn from the hard ones (I learnt a whole lot!) and focus on the blessings. And there's always a blessing in there somewhere, always! Never forget that my friend! We are stronger in 2020!
2019 was the best year of my life, and I'm proud to say that that year started with watching your New Year stream while in bed on a crappy holiday alone, but when I saw those fireworks go off at exactly midnight and I heard the climax of the F1 theme live on stream, I knew 2019 would be amazing; it put me in the right mindset to improve my life and improve it did. You gave me the confidence to be proud of who I am and the confidence to say that I am a sim racer. Driving racecars, buying the R32, driving at Assen, winning Le Mans etc. It's inspiring to have seen you grow these last few years, this year especially. You've grown more confident and I feel you are more open to things that at first seem outside your comfort zone. In the past you would be frightened to do things outside that zone. At the beginning of the year I feel you were afraid to drive the 570 (correct me if I'm wrong), but later in the year you weren't as afraid to drive the NRing. Truly inspiring to see you do these things, they must take quite a bit of courage! It's awesome to see the things you do and you getting rewarded for it, albeit in views or in person. You achieved a lot this year and I hope all is just as well outside YT. I heard you spoke to someone who'd get you out of the shed! I love the blend/mix between sim and IRL videos, it's cool to see sim racers doing well in real life. Keep doing what you're doing and keep improving, you're brilliant. Yep, every little thing in this massive universe is about changes. Even in death there is a change. There's no bad or good in nature, it's only an invented concept in our silly little minds. 2020 is gonna be spectacular anyway, so we should just keep going forwards with time!
I came across this channel earlier last year and it quickly became one of my favourites, primarily my love of Gran Turismo 2 and the nostalgia element that everyone shares of that game got me interested. Discovering that Jimmy did these amazing Gran Turismo events and owned these great cars was a bonus. The charity events were a real eye opener and wonderful things to see come together. The fact that you get this great advice on mental health is the cherry on the cake, when I'm having a down day for whatever reason it's always exciting to get home ready for the Stream, amongst the banter and racing there is a heart and soul in the streams where I pick up some good solid life advice. So thank you Jimmy and the community for making this a fun place and hope for plenty more great times in the new year!

I'm following this channel since Jimmy has 50k ish subs. At first I was just enjoying the content, enjoying the streams. After a while I started to feel and think of Jimmy as a friend. I feel geniuenly sorry when he said he was down, really proud of him when he became a professional GT Sport commentator (I think he is really a budget Murray Walker btw), Le Mans victory made me feel happy almost a week and the biggest one, he create a big friendly enviroment for the racing enthusiasts. This could easly went for a sim racing circlejerk but he prevented that. His streams feels like a friend meeting. I'm really glad that I discovered this channel. Dear Jimmy,
I’m writing this while watching you stream GT2 live for its 20th anniversary. I’m hoping this message won’t be too long but there’s a lot I have to thank you for.
So I’m 23 and I live in Cornwall. Summer of 2018, I graduated from Uni with a photography degree. I had the whole world at my feet, yet I couldn’t get any jobs. I ended up working for Weatherspoons, which was soul sucking. Just before Christmas ‘18 they fucked me over and I lost my job. Then started the darkest part of my life. I went onto benefits and had to spend the Christmas period struggling for cash and self worth.
I had stumbled across your videos earlier in the year and that had encouraged me to buy a decent sim wheel, a Thrustmaster T300, and I had been reworking my way through the Codemasters F1 games, starting with F1 2010, working my way through career mode to F1 2019. I used sim racing and watching your videos as a way of distracting myself from all my problems. Especially watching your videos as I knew you had been through similar and worse, and I had seen how you turned yourself around, and you have a bunch of loyal, loving followers that were supporting you during the GT5 live-streams, and hearing your stories and watching the racing would always make me feel better.
In January ’19 things finally turned around for me. I finally got a job interview for a new company in Cornwall called Player Ready Virtual Reality, a VR arcade with 4 vives for zombie shooters, beat saber etc, and 7 VR racing pods with Project Cars 2. Thank god for me, they liked me and I’ve been working for them for almost a year now and I love the job so much! The company has doubled in size, and I feel incredibly valued and I get to do crazy things like weddings and events, one of which I have not shut up about.
We were invited to Cornwall Motorfest in Newquay, where we took 2 of our VR sim rigs. We were running Renault Megane Touring cars around Cadwell Park. The ‘headline act’ of the event so to speak was Tom Ingram, the touring car driver. Tom came over to is and set a time of 1:28.564. By the end of the day I had beaten his time by 0.1 seconds. On the second day however, I set a lap time of 1:27.720! Over a second quicker and I have not shut up about it, nor have I erased our leaderboard from the event. So hey, if you were ever struggling for an idea for a video, Cadwell Park in a Megane Touring, in Project Cars 2, in VR on a default setup. I’ll even add you time to our leaderboard.
I was also involved with friend from my former uni in starting up a Motorsports Society, in which a number of us will meet up to watch F1, Indycar and sometimes your streams. There are also a couple of us who have bought Abruzzi gloves and boots due to your sponsorship.
Anyway I digress. I just wanted to say a huge thank you for I guess simply being you. I’ve seen people tell you before, but you really do help people who are feeling down or who are struggling with depression and mental health. I know that it’s something that hits close to home/shed with you, but even just watching you fail Gran Turismo licenses over and over again is a great distraction. And knowing your history with what you’ve gone through with things like your Dad and ex-fiancé and seeing how far you’ve come, travelling the world with the legendary Gran Turismo and being a commentator with your lisp is a huge inspiration! You were the first person I was doing VR Racing and I feel so incredibly honoured and lucky to be able to race in VR everyday as a job! I owe a lot of my passion and motivation to you.

Having just recently lost Michael, to be a part of something that meant so much to me and those who are effected by mental health issues regularly was overwhelming. I was crying like a baby the last 30 minutes taking it all in, knowing how many people we potentially helped save. Was by far and large my favorite sim racing moment of 2019. Hey buddy, I just wanted to let you know that 2019 had been pretty hard for me too. I couldn't migrate to a better country as I wanted, my wife split up with me, my company's boss ran away with my salaries and my idiot parents sold my half-done car project for some firewood.
But there were some good things as well, so I chose to learn from the hard ones (I learnt a whole lot!) and focus on the blessings. And there's always a blessing in there somewhere, always! Never forget that my friend! We are stronger in 2020!
2019 was the best year of my life, and I'm proud to say that that year started with watching your New Year stream while in bed on a crappy holiday alone, but when I saw those fireworks go off at exactly midnight and I heard the climax of the F1 theme live on stream, I knew 2019 would be amazing; it put me in the right mindset to improve my life and improve it did.

First of all, I want to congratulate you on the milestones you've achieved this year. Driving racecars, buying the R32, driving at Assen, winning Le Mans etc.
It's inspiring to have seen you grow these last few years, this year especially.
You've grown more confident and I feel you are more open to things that at first seem outside your comfort zone. In the past you would be frightened to do things outside that zone. At the beginning of the year I feel you were afraid to drive the 570 (correct me if I'm wrong), but later in the year you weren't as afraid to drive the NRing. Truly inspiring to see you do these things, they must take quite a bit of courage!
It's awesome to see the things you do and you getting rewarded for it, albeit in views or in person. You achieved a lot this year and I hope all is just as well outside YT. I heard you spoke to someone who'd get you out of the shed!

Yep, every little thing in this massive universe is about changes. Even in death there is a change. There's no bad or good in nature, it's only an invented concept in our silly little minds. 2020 is gonna be spectacular anyway, so we should just keep going forwards with time!
I came across this channel earlier last year and it quickly became one of my favourites, primarily my love of Gran Turismo 2 and the nostalgia element that everyone shares of that game got me interested.
Discovering that Jimmy did these amazing Gran Turismo events and owned these great cars was a bonus.
The charity events were a real eye opener and wonderful things to see come together.
The fact that you get this great advice on mental health is the cherry on the cake, when I'm having a down day for whatever reason it's always exciting to get home ready for the Stream, amongst the banter and racing there is a heart and soul in the streams where I pick up some good solid life advice.

I'm following this channel since Jimmy has 50k ish subs. At first I was just enjoying the content, enjoying the streams. After a while I started to feel and think of Jimmy as a friend. I feel geniuenly sorry when he said he was down, really proud of him when he became a professional GT Sport commentator (I think he is really a budget Murray Walker btw), Le Mans victory made me feel happy almost a week and the biggest one, he create a big friendly enviroment for the racing enthusiasts. This could easly went for a sim racing circlejerk but he prevented that. His streams feels like a friend meeting. I'm really glad that I discovered this channel. Only started watching this year after stumbling across the channel, but I am so glad I did, often if I've come home from a crappy day at work your videos are the highlight of my day, and when there isn't a new video to watch there's this amazing sim racing hobby that I probably would never have gotten into if it wasn't for this.
