Congrats for this review, it is very detailed. One question, how durable are the clear buttons? I'm afraid they're a little fragile.

no body talking about inside the preset. can we possible stacking or editing inside the preset? like change overdrive or add same compressor and noise gate ?

I love your reviews, very detailed. Have you thought what would happen when you bring your tonex to some one else's house? You have programmed yours the way you like it and I know how to control it. I plug in and have no idea what amps or effects are where in your pedal. The colors don't help me. Only you.
If you bought any other pedal on earth to my house I could look at a screen and see what amp or effect is in play. The order may be scrambled but I could use your pedal after 30 seconds. This 'new' color interface is retarded. I cannot wait for you to give an honest review on this product and why it is useless in the real world. The makers just wanted to show off how small they could make it, forgetting that humans need to be able to understand it.

Well IK Multimedia answered to the requests of users..I understand your point but sincerly I'll never had to use more than 4-5 sounds. Maye cause I only play my songs hate to do covers...so I just need MY sounds. And remember 5 captures I made is easy. So for the others I can use the software and then again remember only 4 or 5 sounds for the show

Surely one can recognize this particular pedal was specifically designed to be a miniaturized effects device that contrasts with both the company’s and others larger effects units.
Also, it’s not a mystery that minimizing the amount of ‘surface’ controls and displays makes for a less expensive and smaller package.
And arguably, it’s somewhat counterproductive to not just practically eliminate the knob or button dances for setup - it’s not for everyone as using this pedal practically requires using a device or computer and the software at some point- and to some degree for getting familiar and hip with dialing in one’s desired sounds.
In my opinion, I would encourage anyone playing guitar or an instrument to learn new things relating music firstly. Like maybe get back into reading music, learning harmonic theory which opens the doors to being fluent with scales and modes- and how they relate.
The number of things that a musician or anyone who’s passionate about something similar will definitely require one to remember more than ‘20’ new things. Lolz This pedal replaces the other ones and this IR software technology will see the whole pedal, amp and mic ect…obsolete well beyond the assumed trends and aesthetic ideas that stem from the 50, 60, 70, 80’s and 90’s- many of which are either people pushing the threshold of developing a sound or by large corporations doing endless marketing related stuff to manipulate people into believing all sorts of insanely ridiculous or inaccurate shit.
Guitar players are especially stereotypically swayed by artificial ideas surrounding….practically everything.
It’s funny that electric bass players generally have bypassed much of the guitar related lore and ‘culture’ or confused nostalgic stuff- They just want something that sounds good and plays well.
Guitar players can be totally caught up in decades of psychosis often inadvertently created by marketing and other fellow guitar players repeating similar ideas.
Someone bringing a laptop computer, a cell phone, a vehicle, an instrument, a wardrobe…whatever that exists in the realm of a personal utility, there’s no reason to expect someone to find fault that the owner benefitted by personalizing it for their use- and that it ought to have bunch of knobs, displays and a notebook or pdf for the ‘other’ person….that seems like a silly stretch of the imagination trying to find ‘fault’ for the wrong reasons.
And I get it, many of us resist change or unfamiliarity- which creates the tricky situation where we sometimes struggle with a bit of cognitive dissonance- and it’s easier to write off something than to take the effort to actually learn or become familiar with something- and even so it still may be found it’s not worth the effort or that one’s initial thought turned out to be accurate.
And I admit I wrote all that mostly for myself as a reminder to not be turned off by what undeniably is an incredibly musical and powerful tool that’s being developed to make use of a miniaturized effects pedal form! All the possibilities! I love it

Per me Hotone ha I suoni chug piu fighi in assoluto Ultimamente. Sia tonex che headrush hanno troppe armoniche sui treble e i palm mute suonano tutti peggio ad ascoltare i vari sample su YT!

We are 1/4 into this century but rather than make the device bigger and put a screen on it, we get to play '*simon' and memorize colors.
You would think the designers are stuck in the 1980s. You are going to put on a board then size is NOT important. Stupid design.
*simon a memory game where you memorize sequences of colors.

@@MadSteex Nah, I'll just whip out an old zoom ms50 pedal or any modeler with a screen so I can see what I am doing.
You try naming all your 20 presets. You can look at the colors to help you. I bet you fail. lol.
In a week you will forget how to control it so keep a manual or pdf handy.
