My troop and several den leaders are members of both our OA lodge and Tribe of Mic-O-Say. We dress in our Mic-O-Say regalia and do crossovers for several of our units in our district since the OA doesn’t do regalia anymore. As a youth I was part of our ceremony teams so I’ve done both. The look of the kids when you have the regalia on is amazing and what I enjoy the most.
Lets talk about it. I do my AOL in Nov, so the AOL's can wear that rank for the next three pack meetings. I have it outdoors, on a full moon night, at our local nature park (special permission needed) I made a 8'arrow with 1/2" steel rods. Wrap in burlap with tiki torch fuel. Lit at edge of lake during arrow ceremony. Cross over comes at Jan pack meeting, that allows new scouts to camp with the troop before going to summer camp.
That sounds like a wonderful program. We had something similar Until some “uber parents” tried to shut it down. It turns out that we were using an adult leader who is also the Fire Chief in our area and that was quickly settled. To this day it is a very popular program. Remember that safety is key to all events. YIS⚜
Did you see the video on that? th-cam.com/video/0FHHayJCIak/w-d-xo.html The links to the OA scripts are in the description. Good luck with working your Wood Badge ticket. YIS⚜
That's wonderful news. I hope you plan on crossing the bridge to the Troop also. It's a lot like graduation in many ways only the parents get to cross the bridge too. YIS⚜
