I wasn't elected until my senior year of high school. I went to ordeal and never thought about OA again. I had wanted it badly throughout scouts, but by that point was done with it. I don't know how OA could improve such a scenario. Part of the appeal was that it is a high honor elite sort of thing (and of course the sash 😂) but it it's also a popularity contest. Just got my sons into cubs and it has reignited my fire for Scouting. Been enjoying your channel. Thanks.
I know your experience well. I did my ordeal six months from 18. I was one of those 11th hour eagles and was much more focused on that. 35+ years later, my eldest son and I completed our brotherhood ceremonies together. These kinds of bonding moments was what I was really forward to when my sons started scouting. Hopefully, you'll return to the brotherhood of cheerful service one day too.
Thank you Stan for your service, I have used your videos during my Chapter's elections for the past few years. I find them much better than those coming from National.
It’s good to see another Scouter who has taken the time to commit to Scouting. The sash I wear in the video is the normal sash that I wear to all OA events. The only thing that makes it special is that it appears when I snap my fingers. I do have to be careful around “poetry readings” LOL🤣 But seriously, Cub Scout leaders who are in the Order of the Arrow should wear their sash whenever they are representing or at an OA event. Den Chiefs should be encouraged to where they're sash to one of the Webelows or Arrow of Light meetings and talk about the Order of the Arrow. I really enjoy your channel and we would like to invite you to a live meeting if you're interested. We did talk about it recently at the December meeting. Let me know if you're interested. YIB🔺
Hello, scouter stan, I just want to say thank you for making this video My scoutmaster always uses these methods on the scouts in my troop when talking about the OA and it always bothers me thanks again for making the video and happy Holidays!

Make me want to dig out the sash from storage and seal my Brotherhood. Also, love the special sash you wear in these OA videos.
I totally did dig mine out and sealed my brotherhood. Thanks to Stan and for these videos and some other scouter friends
