Buyer Beware!!!! I've had 3 coolant leaks in my 2013 XF 3.0. It's a beautiful car but Jaguar has been known for having problematic cars . My 1st coolant leak was my engine coolant "pipe" got that repaired which required 24 hrs of labor due to the location of the "pipe" and then a piece on my water pump started leaking, called Jaguar and they informed me I couldn't replace the piece on top of the water pump but had to replace the whole water pump which I did. Only to find out it's another "pipe" behind the engine in the back that was leaking also. So they are definitely known for having leaks and FYI their "pipes" are all hard pieces of plastic not metal so after time plastic parts will break and leak🙍♂️
Yep that's all deja vu. Luckily mine was all covered under warranty but it would have been a disaster if it was out of warranty. I doubt i would ever buy a British, German or Italian car out of its warranty period unless i had a ton of cash set aside to pay for inevitable repairs and then also had other vehicles to drive when they break
Unfortunately I was out of my warranty but had a family mechanic that could work on anything. So I cut alot of cost by using him and paying for my own parts. I would never buy a British,German or Italian car again because of the cheap plastic parts used to build the vehicle. Porsche are also using plastic pipes. I will only lease luxury vehicles here on out!!!
Beware, coolant leak is major issue in this car, I am in trouble with this Jaguar XF 2015 2 litter engine, just to diagnose coolant leak have to pay 350 USD, my car in Dealer work Shope for last 3 days , techs still couldn’t find exactly where is leaking, So they want to replace probable parts !!!!!, total cost 1600USD 😳😳 Manufacturers should look into this issue and bring a permanent solution, or give service affordable rate
Shmucko21 the coolant leak began after a vegas trip i took. My friend and I absolutely rallied the car flooring it everywhere and drifting and shit in 110 degree vegas heat haha. So i am thinking that caused it. Coolant leaked from the Y pipe and from a hose/fasterner thing right ontop of the coolant reservoir
Shmucko21 yes. That coolant leak was likely caused by me. Other than that, she was tried and true through my ownership experience. Took her on several 1,000+ mile road trips and stuff and she did great
Shmucko21 also worth noting is i had the dashboard leather bubbling problem start (google that) right before i sold it. Also had rattle develop in the cabin...but that rattle was only during the summer when it was warm outside.
The coolant leak was not caused by you. I had a new 2014 xjl lease 0 miles. 1st day I drove it was leaking coolant. Plastic radiator they use. 10k miles later , water pump and power steering pump failed. 20000 miles same issue. They are notorious for this.
Howard Hughes the 2nd i could have definitely afforded to keep it and would have loved to but i cashed out the equity in it to buy a duplex...much more financially responsible decision ;)
My 2012 XF portfolio has the dreaded coolant leak now and I'm trying to resolve it. Do you recall what the leak was caused by ? Any help would be much appreciated.
It was a long time ago but if my memory is correct it was leaking from two places. A "y pipe" is what the dealership called it...and then it was also leaking from some sort of hose or valve on top.
@@renegadezen7841 Thanks for your response. Mine is leaking coolant so I bought a new water pump and installed it and the car is still leaking so I'm just going to go ahead and sell this car as-is.

Is it expensive to maintain? I’m trying to get a 2011 with 60k miles

Yep. Pretty wild that this entire generation had this as a major common problem. The techs at my jag dealer also had trouble getting it resolved

Great video man
Thank you sir let me know if you have any questions about the car / my experience with it
Would have been more worth it to keep it longer. The longer you keep a car the lower the rate of depreciation but the more you have to fix things

Hey Big Texas, did you ever sell your car? Where in Texas are you from?
@@phinguyen365 I'm in Dallas and sold my XF 2 weeks ago for $9K on offerup. Now I have a 2017 Lexus LS460L, a real car.

Ouch you got hurt on your resale - def bought on the high side of the market and sold on the low side, but that's supply and demand for you.
Definitely. Out of warranty used european luxury sedans can definitely be a beast to sell...especially a rwd one in a winter climate

Yikes
