I’m surprised the butts (deep trench and mechanisms to raise and lower the rifle targets) are no longer there. You were standing by our pistol range. Can I tell a short story? Qualifying with the pistol, one of us Marines complained his pistol was inaccurate. S/Sgt Powell took the pistol and started hitting 55 gal. drums which were all the way across the other side of the rifle range. He gave the pistol back to the Marine and said, “Looks ok to me”. He was quite a guy.
Thank you Sammy I been there a few times. I could never remember where it was as we always just took a bus up there. I don’t remember seeing any structures back then either, we basically would have to bring everything we needed with us.
beautiful area. we went snorkeling there last week at Cayo Piñeiro. Turtles, dolphins, stingrays, lion fish, sea urchins, corals and the many reef fish that make it special. I have a small boat at Puerto Del Rey marina if you want to fish or dive. let me know, be happy to take you out.
