1:37 I think on this remote peninsula was a covered picnic place called "Tea House of the August Moon." At a gathering in 1963 I ventured down along the rocky shore. I was 9 and liked to explore. There I happened upon the body of a pretty Puerto Rican teenage girl, about 17, in a 2-piece swimsuit. She had very recently been lain on a rock--lying on her back--her head hanging upside-down, eyes open. I ran back up to the gathering and told who I thought was in charge. He had the Shore Patrol out there in just a few minutes. I never learned who she was nor who killed her.
I left Roosy in August of 65. Did they build new Enlisted men’s barracks in later years ?The pictures I see now look like the original barracks across from the mess hall are still there. Very few pictures of the Bundy Area. Just wondering ???????
@@kayjet64 , I also heard that goggle had leased the Bundy area an was testing drones in that area. Also it was all fenced in. U could not even go in anywhere near the Bundy area. I am 79 now but would still like to go back. I worked up on the hill where the Old Man’s ( Captain) office was located. I was there for 2 yrs, 8 months. Great duty !!!!!!!!
@@stancohen7701 There is access to every corner of the Base now. The last ones working in the Bundy area were the FBI and they left after Hurricane Maria. So now it’s totally abandoned. We use the area for Mountain Biking.

The oil rigs were brought in by a private company for scrap metal. The company was one of many that were suppose to bring jobs to the area without paying taxes to the puertorrican government. After Hurricane Maria they left and forgot to take their trash with them. It’s just a sore eye now.

They built new barracks and apartments that were never used. Bundy is pretty much nothing now. Totally abandoned.

They've been unused for years. Just abandoned there.
