My name is Amanda. My dad used to sing this to me all the time when he was alive. It was what we were supposed to dance to for the Father/Daughter dance at my wedding. Unfortunately, he passed only 2 months before I got married. Everyone told me to postpone... but if there was anything that my dad believed in, it was love. He would have been absolutely devastated if I cancelled or postponed my wedding just because he was no longer physically here anymore.
My Grandpa (dad's dad) stepped in and danced with me during the Father/Daughter dance at the wedding... and this is what we danced to.
I don't believe that there was a dry eye in the room. My Grandpa and I basically spent the entire song, holding each other and crying while gently swaying and turning to the music.
I miss my Daddy so much it hurts. It's only been 4 and a half months (he passed on May 17th, 2023)... I miss him so much. 💔
