I haven't watched any of Alice's old videos yet, since she passed away, and seeing her in that clip made me teary-eyed. I can't imagine how much you must miss her.

How beautiful! Happy BT birthday🎉. Thank you for sharing all the wonderful clips!! Of course, I am now crying, but I'm so glad to have "met" so many lovely people who love books as much as I do.
4:23 - exactly! It is a perfectionist struggle as a creator, because when we create and release it into the world, we want it to be the best. But it definitely creates a barrier which can start stopping the fun. 💜📚
Beautiful video - you put succintly in prt 4) what many people have spent entire videos on - really appreciate. I also cried during the meeting book friends. It is beautiful and heartbreaking seeing you all with Alice 🥲💗💕💜💜💜📚🎂
Happy happy anniversary Jack. I am so glad and grateful that you are here. This was such a lovely and charming video, I had tears and smiles while watching. Thanks so much for tagging me! PS to this day Jane Austen Task Mistress is one of the best and funniest things I have ever seen.
Hey Gina! Thank you so much - I am so glad you enjoyed it. I had a few tears while editing it, that's for sure. I also think that task mistress video is still one of the funniest booktube videos - was so glad to have been a part of it! ❤❤
Happy BookTube Anniversary! 🎂 Your videos always make me smile and this was a lovely one. Loved seeing all the photos and videos of everyone you’ve met. Thank you for sharing your reading and love of books.
I love this! Love the way you’ve structured it. Those memories mean the world to me. So honored to have you as my friend 🧡🧡 Will try to get this tag done in the next couple of weeks.
I’m so glad you enjoyed it matey - it was an emotional one to edit. So happy we became friends and can’t wait to see your one whenever you get round to it! 🤍🤍🤍
What a wonderful tag video. You are amazing! So glad you are part of this community and one day we will meet in real life. Love the BookTube connections. 😊💙
Congratulations on 4 years Jack! This was such fun to watch but did some crying too. Keep going with all your great ideas ,so glad you feel you have grown and gained confidence while having fun and spreading book joy.😻
Thank you so very much Jane! I was definitely emotional editing this one - being on Booktube has brought so many wonderful friends and experiences. I feel so grateful for them all 🤍
I enjoy doing the monthly wrap-ups, but I prefer individual book discussions because they attract viewers who are specifically interested in that book. Individual reviews tend to be evergreen, as you mentioned. My channel is small, so my wrap-ups typically get just150 views and then plateau, whereas my single book reviews may start with only 40 views but often surpass 150 views after three months.
So true. Every now and again, a video's views will just start creeping up and suddenly it's in my most watched that month, despite having very few views initially!
What a great tag Jack 🎉 Not the biggest fan of tags, but i shall put this down on my list to do in the future. Busy with Tudortember this month but shall do it for October. I have always been self critical but it’s a learning curve for us individually 😊
Trying to be kinder to ourselves is often an ongoing project! I am so glad you enjoyed this and honoured that you will give it a go - don't forget to tag me so I can come and watch when it is out!
Hi dear Jack, What a wonderful video. You are a Queen! I'm not surprised we started at the same time four years ago. Congrats my friend. I write long comments but I'm not as busy as most people in this season of my life.. I am so excited to do your tag. I love your honesty. Even at 74, my self-esteem, especially regarding my looks is not where I want it to be. but it gets better every day. You are a wonderful artist. I loved it! My channel is going through an evolution too. We need to do a project together this year. Aloha friend.
Thank you so much, Marilyn! I love writing a longer comment when I get the time as well. I am glad you are looking forward to doing the tag - can't wait to see it. A project of some kind would be lovely! ❤️
Happy Booktube Anniversary... my 4th Booktube anniversary is next week. This is a great idea for a tag. I script for my 1 minute reviews because I'd get too tongue tied otherwise, but I don't script for longer videos. I stopped doing wrap ups and opted for 1 minute reviews for the majority of books I have read instead. You are right that reviews are evergreen, hauls and TBRs don't get many views after the month is over. I enjoyed your thoughts on your own evolution as a booktuber.
Fellow Booktuber of the class of 2020! Your one minute reviews are very effective and I can see how they would have to be scripted but well worth it. Happy booktube birthday for next week!
7:34 so lovely to hear, not only your evolution but revolution against doing things that cause you stress! Well done Jack 🎉 🎉 this is so fascinating and healthy. I love it💜📚
Love the tag! The footage and pictures of the meetups look so fun, wish I could have been there. :) I also am not the generation of meeting online, but I've met some people through an online forum and I'm still friends with a some of them, so I am a little envious. Fomo bookclub is the best and I always look forward to the lives. About feeling awkward and not liking the way I look or sound, I can relate, Maybe it also has to do with not being the online generation. I'm just not so used to looking at myself that way (or hearing myself). I don't even like being photographed. So I don't see myself starting a channel, but I like being a regular booktube watcher and commenter. Your channel is lovely, and I find your channel (and voice) very relaxing as well as interesting. Have a great Sunday!
Oh my goodness, not sure how I missed your wonderful comment! I am so glad that you enjoy the FOMO book club and take part in our live chats. I always enjoy your contributions. It is so lovely to hear that you enjoy my channel and content - hearing that makes it all worthwhile! Thank you so much for your support and kind words! 🤍
Jack, I loved everything about this video. Happy BookTube birthday! And congratulations! This was quite simply magnificent. I loved seeing you through the ages, so to speak. The clips are just incredible, especially the ones of you meeting up with other booktubers. They are so joyful--and yet they also made me cry. Thank you for including me in this tag. ♥
Thank you so much , Pat! I was emotional putting those clips together. Such amazing times and I am so glad you have joined our lovely little community - I look forward to your tag whenever you get around to it! ❤❤

It's funny seeing the older videos where you feel awkward because you speak so naturally and confident now, I never would of imaged you were camera shy (it took me 5 years of watching to make a channel for the same reason!). Love this tag it's super interesting to hear about people's history on booktube.
Thank you so much! The difference is so noticeable to me watching it all back - I’m glad I seem more natural now! If you feel like doing the tag, would be interesting to hear your responses! No pressure of course!😊

Loved this. I didn't celebrate my four year anniversary as it was straight after my brother died. Perhaps this is the way to celebrate four years nine months instead. I didn't know your channel when you didn't show your face. I would never have guessed you were unsure about that.
Thanks Ros - glad you enjoyed it. It took me some time to pluck up the courage to do show my face, but I realised that a faceless channel has less chance of gaining subscribers as people just don’t connect as well with them. Glad I did in the end!
That's how I am going to approach it from now on really - after years of lurking, I then became a booktuber and decided that I needed to write detailed comments which is so silly. I'd rather give someone the watch hours and an emoji, than not watch because I haven't got time to comment!
