Hi Kelly, this is a wonderful tag from Jack. And you gave very good answers and advice. Even after four years, I am bumbling my way through book. In fact, my last video was the only in four years that got more than 1000 views. And I have no idea why. I only look at analytics when I’m forced to buy the studio.😊 and it has always been pretty much of a downer. But I do this because I love it. My evolution of a booktube watcher... I have definitely reduced the amount of channels I watch on a regular basis. I have "curated" my go to channels to include mostly content providers that inspire me, educate me, read books that enhance my knowledge and broaden my world view. I have stepped away from more "commercialized" channels although there are a few I check in once in awhile if I like their personalities. I think many of the channels I closely follow seem to be interconnected with other booktubers I appreciate. I was led to your channel by Steve Donoghue and I immediately liked your personality, your laugh and thoughtful way of talking about books and life in general. I never unsubscribed though unless something is said that I find is not inline with my views. One I recall is when they said they do not want to read books that "shove social issues down their throats". I find most meaningful books always have some political, social commentary, draw attention to an injustice or attempt to educate or increase awareness to a social ill or historical influence (history repeating itself). I get it is fun to read a "lighter subject matter" but not exclusively. anyway... the hair cutting thing. I wonder if that is similar to people liking to watch people eat or just some like that. I am not sure how I feel about people that do things like apply makeup while talking about books or other things. I suppose it could be seen as chats among friends or to imply a sort of intimacy between content provider and viewer. Anyway I have gone on and on long enough. I hope you and Jason are fully recovered and doing well.

I remember your haircutting videos and I think I've seen someone ask this year when you will do another. They were obviously a popular thing 😊.
My experience watching booktube over so many years has changed. I don't watch some of the first channels I subscribed to and it's because they do content I am no longer interested in. It took a while to find the corner of booktube that really resonates with my reading taste and my video taste. I used to subscribe right away to someone new if I liked a video, but now I check back for a few weeks and see if the booktuber is one I want to watch regularly. I don't want to subscribe and then never watch someone's videos. My book reading hasn't changed from watching other than to participate in the various events. I plan a fair amount of my reading around some events now, but the genres of books I read is pretty much the same.
