  • I haven't made a jersey dress before so after watching Micarah Tewers recreate an entire clothing line in about a day, I knew I had to try it at least once. Lo and behold, it was just as easy as she said it would be! Yes, I had to make it twice, but it was so much easier the second time around!
    Go check out her video because she's amazing • I Made Kylie's WHOLE C...
    And if you need fabric to try this yourself, I gotchu fam!

    The skimming rather than hugging version is extremely classy and encourages me to try, I love micarah and would kill for her figure but unfortunately that ship sailed a while ago so skimming is where it’s at! Xx

      SAAAAAAAAAAAME! I love her and everything she does fits her so well, but hugging just isn't in my Comfy-Era right now 🤣

    That looks super comfy! Like "the dress I reach for every day" kind of comfy.

      I was thinking the same thing!! A little bit shorter and it could go anywhere!!

    I have french seamed knits with 2 zig zag stitches if the fabric isnt too bulky. Just to keep the inside tidy.

    They both turned out fun and cute! The first would be cute with a fun belt, like those wide ones. Ooh, or a sash tied around the waist like they did in the late 90's!
    But I don't do fashion, so it might be terrible! Lol

    • @KatieMakesStuff

      I think a sash would be killer!! Love the idea!

    I liked it...but as a women of a certain age 😊 I think maybe a different material and more loosey goosey 😊 and flowey might work for me. ❤

      My big takeaway from this was how to fit the top. From the waist down can be adapted in so many ways to fit just about anyone! It's just so dang easy!

    Nice work! Looks good. Wonder if a wildly patterned fabric would conceal “everything” better.

    • @KatieMakesStuff
      @KatieMakesStuff  25 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I think it would certainly help. I also think some rouching around the middle would also help, not that I'm brave enough to figure that out yet 🤣

  • @cd2street
    @cd2street 26 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

    no don't cut it bigger as you have the shape to carry it off so go for it!!!

      Thank you! I think I could wear it standing up but sitting would make me very uncomfy and I am fully in my Comfy-Era right now. But if a fancy event comes up, I've got just the dress ready! 🤣

    This was a fun challenge! Maybe I’ll give it a go so I can have an easy maxi too :)
    As I was watching I noticed your rug ont he floor that looks maybe like a braided or rope rug and I love it! Did you make it?? Would you share a how-to? Thanks for sharing your creativity with us!

    • @KatieMakesStuff
      @KatieMakesStuff  24 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thanks for noticing the rug. My brother- and father-in-law used to make them in Philadelphia. They unfortunately had to stop business but their rugs are made from 100% New Zealand wool and they're fantastic to use while sewing.

      I've seen some really nice, flowy jersey dresses that would be great for anyone. Maybe something more A-line would work better? Start the flair at the waistline to give a bit more room. Get the top set the way you like it then play around with the skirt shape and size.
