Watching Buakauw, he really highlights some fundamentals that Western kickboxing gyms don't work on. The long guard, clinch spin, and push out from clinch are all things drilled daily by real Muay Thai gyms.
during his career he had theses badass hairc uts as well. One of them he looked like a character from dragonball z called Uub. Simply the greatest Thai/kick boxer ever. Thank you Kenshin for keeping the memories alive of the good ol days with your content
I was lucky enough to watch him fight in Thailand, he’s a monster and he just shrugs off anything that gets thrown at him. Hearing the audible crack of their shins colliding really made me change the way I was training
The man is incredible. The power in his kicks are next level extraordinary and just one would cause the average guy to scream uncle regardless of where it landed. I did a lot of full contact kickboxing in my youth and you can’t imagine the power until you’ve been on the receiving end of it. Speed, breath control, and the fact that he turns his hip over on his turning kicks is how he is able to generate so much devastating power. The man is the ultimate in martial arts-ground game excluded.
@@LawrenceKenshin The first few matches in which I got to know him, I thought of him as an axis. An axis that spins wildly and arms and legs fly out all over the place at the right times to hit through the defense. And I knew straight away I would abandon my countrymen and hope to see my man Buakaw take the gold and top! And the 2004-2007 period was such exhilaration to be watching for me. Por Pramuk!
I'll answer with a non-puzzle, you only get 1 guess. :p "punch-punch-lowkickland" I forgot where you live even though you mentioned it in first video I watched of you. I think that was about my country and why I had a look.
Besides his fighting prowess, I think Buakaws simply fearsome conditioning and physical resilience put him as above any Muay Thai fighter. Dude is a beast of a tank.
@@LawrenceKenshin Thank you so much for doing this videos , as a fan of martial arts I really do appreciate the content you make , some of your videos are very informative others very entertaining,it's the combination I seek on TH-cam....Cheers!
That Souwer KO was not only enjoyable, but also justice. He got robbed against him, as he was robbed later against others opponents like Enrico Kiehl. Very interesting video
Buakaw has a back of steel. His striking ability is inspiring. I’m 6/4 210 lbs and working hard on myself. I consider myself to be a strong striker as well. I will go to a boxing gym in my town which I found recently. I will think of this man when I want to quit.
This guy posted a comment to get some sweet internet points. Because that’s the only thing he accomplished here. Nobody gives a fk about your gym or how tall you are.
this guy seems to have instinct for fighting, he reads his oponents like a book, responds with attacks all the time, even when he is under attack himself, body coordination, speed, skill, all the shit he has.
Great video compilation. Buakaw displays pure power, speed and timing. His combos and ability to connect using opposing momentum is the best I've ever seen.
Wow, what a way to start my morning. Thank you Lawrence!! I've watched all those fights many times and it was nice to see them all compacted into a single video. As he is my favorite fighter of all time, I do have to say I'm not impressed with his last 3 fights. They have all felt staged to me. I don't want his legacy damaged by him ending his career this way. I understand the money involved and I don't blame him. But as a fan it's just hard to watch. And also, the Souwer Ko is my favorite of all time. I've watched it at least a dozen times.
That would be awesome. There are plenty of boxing movies out there, so why not. I know there’s a couple of Muay Thai, however the world could always do with more. Thai deserves more mainstream recognition. This would be a way to get it.
There was no fighter who came close to matching in terms of strength and endurance. Add to that his technical superiority, his all seeing eyes, and his superiority in reading the fight and then delivering his deadly counterattack whether with his fists, elbows, knees, or legs. Just if he was standing you could see his core strength in his whole body. On top everything looked so easy if he was in a fight. Buakaw a born fighting machine. Legend
He’s at bkfc 1st match he broke opponents ribs …. Buakaw ages like wine he gets better as he gets older , he looked very fluent like he adapted a sanchei style … would love to see how platinum perry holds up with him … buakaw vs perry sounds fantastic..
Something that fascinates me about Muay Thai and Buakaw does it really well and really calmly, is the exploitation of momentum, not just your own by using knees to charge elbows, punches to charge kicks etc, but also the momentum of the opponent.
Woah, that was an epic episode Lawrence! Thanx. Lots of research went into this I'm sure. I feel like Buakaw is somehow still looked down on in some way since he isn't a Lumpinee nor Rajadamnern stadium champion (as far as I know), yet he exported the power and efficiency of Muay Thai to the world of martial arts as no one before him. Anyway, his prime was an exciting time for sure! :)
yes great way to put it! I think he wouldve captured the title no problem if he just kept fighting in stadiums. He stopped doing that at 21 years old...
I have seen alot of Buakaw. I feel like his best weapons was high fight IQ, and his teep, and his off tempo attacks. In his prime he had one of the highest fight IQs in kickboxing and that coupled with his weapons really was his strongest points.
I will become your sensei and train you. Although your legs are weak like chicken, your heart is strong. Do you have the stamina and desire to be champion?
Having not seen your channel before I started this thinking it was going to be some wally talking over footage and not really adding anything. That was actually really insightful breakdown, and added a lot to my watch. Thanks for the vid.

His hook shots an jabs are like lightning an timing is precise.
