    I do mine differently.
    After audssey. I set all the trims to zero. I start with the center channel using the master volume. Bring it to 75 dbls. From there I use only the trim to achieve 75 dbls. On all the other speakers. It really comes alive during movies!!
    You still have a great share!!

    My Onkyo receiver is absolute 0 to 99 and i was told to calibrate at 75 or 80 volume so i used 80 but when I'm measuring with my spl meter i get 73 db and my numbers are positive and to get 75db for all my speakers i would have to increase the numbers which I've been that all the numbers should be negative

    • @HometheaterEnthusiast
      @HometheaterEnthusiast  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      These are all relative numbers whatever u see on ur spl is the right reading, I won’t suggest to keep +ve values in processor trim levels , make it max 0 and increase the master volume, then u probably wont damage ur speaker. I know some people will disagree since tats nit the standard approach, but that’s the safe one 😊

  • @yogabyaakaash
    @yogabyaakaash ปีที่แล้ว +2

    do you prefer to calibrate speakers to 70db when most look at 75db as reference. Also, the general consensus is to set the master volume to 0 and then calibrate speaker levels, so 0 becomes reference for 70db or 75db. Thanks

    • @HometheaterEnthusiast
      @HometheaterEnthusiast  ปีที่แล้ว

      I did calibrated the system for 0 only using audyssey thats why I did audessey first. Next step is only for level matching the channels thats okey whether its in 70 or 75db doesn’t matter, hope understand.

    What if you set the DB to say +5? Instead of - 3? Yes it's louder but isn't that better?

    • @HometheaterEnthusiast
      @HometheaterEnthusiast  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Do u mean processor trim levels to +5 ?
      If yes then thats not a a good idea or a standard approach. It all about making use speakers at same levels to ur listening position then increasing volume should be done in the master volume but not in the processor trim level. These are usually set at reference level.

    • @HometheaterEnthusiast
      @HometheaterEnthusiast  15 วันที่ผ่านมา

      80hz wont be good for all the speakers, its depends on how deep your speakers can go. If its a full range speaker then 80 is fine else set the crossover depending on the speaker spec 🙂

      Don’t know the exact reason, but u can try level matching, also u can increase the volume on the subwoofer to your expectation, make sure you are not changing the processor trim levels much, max 3 points.

      U can increase the levels a bit but not like 5db, I wont recommend tat. Max a 3db will be okey again 3 db increase may be around the double power in watts. Keep it in mind.

    Hello. I am using sony str-dn1080 amplifier. Why are the level settings set to - instead of +? The general opinion is that this setting is the volume setting. What is the most significant difference between making a speaker -5 and +5?

    • @HometheaterEnthusiast
      @HometheaterEnthusiast  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      These are speaker trim levels in the processor after calibration, if u have +ve value after calibration tats fine, may be u have a bigger room I guess.
      -5 to +5 is a 10db difference and its a lot, like 3 times power the amp to produce to drive the speakers and u may damage the speaker
