Adventurer 3: PTFE Boden tube connector/coupler replacement

  • The FlashForge Adventurer 3 is a fantastic, affordable 3D printer, but a common issue is the PTFE tubing releasing from the coupler, and usually once forced out of the connector, it requires a replacement.
    These are very cheap from Amazon, this is the coupler shown in the video
    : amzn.to/3x2RP9Y
    Thankfully it's a quick and easy fix, and in this video, I walk you through how to safely replace the coupler and make sure your print head/nozzle is clear of any blockage that might have initially caused the tube to release.
    Please note: It's not usually necessary to replace the entire tube, If the tube has a large indentation from the previous coupler, you can cut off the bottom 5-10mm to ensure the replacement coupler has a clean connection to the tube.

    Thank you for taking time out of your day to record this process. New to 3D printing and have been printing a few things each day and just came across this filament popping out of the top like in your example. Videos like these make my life easier. Thanks again!

    For transparency, I have reached out to FlashForge and spoken with two members of their team and both have confirmed that the operations in this video are correct.

    Many thanks- this was the problem I had, and as an inexperienced printer I didn’t know how to fix it so I’m very grateful for this clear solution.

    Great video! I found this exact fail this morning from an overnight print. I've had my Adventurer 3 lite for 1 year. Thanks!

    Picked on up. Works great. Personally, I found using a small socket attachment on my screwdriver allowed me to remove the old connector. The next size or two up was needed for the replacement. All working!

    So the main problems people are having are with the connector / coupler, not the tube itself?

    Does all of this work for the adventurer 4 as well?

    Thanks for the information. I did change the pneumatic coupler exactly by the one you now use and I works well. Do you know if there is a specific lenght for the PTFE tube because my filament feeder knocks on my Adventurer 3 ?

    • @LeeHubbz
      @LeeHubbz  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The knocking on an adventurer 3 is nearly always due to a partial blockage or being too close to the bed. (The filament isnt passing through at the speed it's supposed to, so it's "knocking" back in the extruder.
      Check the official Flashforge group on Facebook, and there's an article I made months ago which explains the process to clear things up, which seems to have been perfect for dozens/hundreds who I've pointed to it so far.

      @@LeeHubbz Hello Law Gaming. Your solution works perfectly. I am very grateful to you. I cleaned over the nozzle and adjust to 100 %. I wish the best.

    The coupler is unavailable on Amazon what do you recommend to replace that

    • @LeeHubbz
      @LeeHubbz  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That specofoc item might be out of stock, but there'll be plenty of other couplers the same.
      Just search the same item name and look at other sellers.

      What do you recommend ?

      Something like this will cover you
      amzn.to/3E71qlJ
      Can't remember if it's the pc4-m6 or pc4-m10 specifically,
      While it's wear and tear parts, they'll generally last a year or more each, so a pack like this is likely to last year's.

    Hi
    Where I can find this new Nozzle/coupler ?

    • @LeeHubbz
      @LeeHubbz  ปีที่แล้ว

      Check Amazon or your local 3d printing stockists.
      For the Adventurer 3, you'll need a PC4-M6

    I need help! I can’t remove the coupler, it is too long and really attached, when I try to move it, the fan moves and I’m afraid of break something

    • @LeeHubbz
      @LeeHubbz  ปีที่แล้ว

      You should be able to remove the shroud (plastic cover) making access to the coupler a little easier.
      With that out of the way, a small socket/pliars may be easier,
      Just check which way you're turning it,
      I don't currently have the Adv3 anymore, so can't check, but any issues reach out on the official Flashforge usergroup on Facebook.
      alot of owners on there who will happily check things for you

    The head needs to be REMOVED from the printer to change the retainer. Doing this job while still installed risks damage to your X-axis smooth-rods. You didn't even remove the ribbon cable - if you knock that sideways, you'll be in for yet another repair job.

    • @LeeHubbz
      @LeeHubbz  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've spoken with Flashforge today and they have confirmed that the operation outlined in this video is correct, and removing the entire print head is not necessary.

      My apologies, always had a bit of an impediment, but thankfully it's nowhere near as bad as when I was a child.

Superduper good video thank u for the guide. Hmm I just remembered that i lost the pocker, do u think heating it up and do the extrude filament will help? or if I just feed new filament into it and let that push it out?
