      HR214 or HR215? @ 0:19, it's a HR214 w/ high tensile strength alloy deck w/ manual tranny. These variant are still being sold in UK for $2000 and it's not available in US.

    Lightweight is good and what did I use it for it’s a lawnmower th-cam.com/users/postUgkxTPN04aT-Qdjr_KS3ql7ng8wnU3wwsCqk also recommend Yes it is lightweight so hence not as robust as our old one. But if you take care it does the job really well.

    I bought a Honda mower 5 years ago and I use it in my mowing business and I replace the back wheel twice already, the air filter, oil change, and sharpen blades. No problem at all just regular maintenance on it. other than that. Still running and making me money. I'm thinking about getting a new one cuase I'm kind of tire how beat up it looks but I'm very happy with honda mowers they're reliable and great mowers. Very easy to start. I like the twin blade it mulches it really good also its light mower they transmission it pulls you. Just great great mower. I love my little Honda!!!!

    Absolutely, the best lawn mower. Super easy to use, the thing You might have forgotten to add is how easy it is to transport and store after use. I have literally put the lawn mower in the back of my Subaru Forester and taken it to help aid my Dad's old property that was left abandoned. The lawn was so bad, but I will go ahead and say. The mulch setting helped bring it back to life. After we cut down 6 foot weeds for about 5 hours, I came back and mowed it with the mulch setting. Over a short period it has helped tremendously bring the lawns colors, and appearance back to life.
    Thank you guys for making such a great machine,
    Looking forward to keeping this design by my side for a long while!
    Take Care,
    Dane

    I have a 1988 Honda 3011 5 speed rear engine riding mower. I've had it since 2004 bought it off a guy a million miles from where I live. Time to use it tried to start it and it just cranked. Had to prime him threw some gasoline in the carburetor 3 times and it would only crank no start. So I did what I recommend everyone to do whenever you have starting problems with your mower. Change the spark plugs and the ones in there were installed many moons ago. Crossed my fingers and there it went like it was just messing with me. Killed it and turned the key again and it started like a champ again. I love my Honda riding mower with the bag attachment with a really large diameter chute. Yeah my push mower & my trimmer are Hondas also.

    Want to tell you - NOW you got me thinking about getting a new HONDA mower in the spring. Impressed with the extra innovations the Power Products group put around the reliable Honda motor. My current mower is an other-brand mower with a HONDA motor because I wanted that super reliable/tough/easy starting motor at the center of my mower. Next one will be a Honda though b/c they put just as much design around as in the motor in these mowers.

Maybe a 25" or even better a 30" or 32" mower to compete with the larger Toro's and Ferris (FW15 - 32" deck)..   • @AriensRotokiller
    @AriensRotokiller 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I have a Husqvarna mower from 2008 that had very similar features to these. It had front drive wheels, four wheel height adjustments, a grass bag attachment for collecting grass, a discharge chute that you could attach on the side of the mower to discharge grass, and if you wanted to mulch the grass, all you had to do was remove the grass bag/discharge chute and it would mulch the grass. Simple but one thing I like about the Hondas in this video is that you have that "clip director" lever so you can have the bag attached without bagging the grass. Otherwise, most of the ideas for these Honda lawn mowers are not that new or crazy. In fact, again, the Husqvarna mower I have has a discharge chute if you want to discharge grass, you can do that. And my mower is 11 years older (as of the time this video was uploaded) than these Hondas and these Hondas don't have a discharge chute. And the electric start is kind of dumb in my opinion because if you can push or even just walk behind the mower, then you can easily pull the pull rope. I also think that the blade on/off lever is kind of cool but there's not really a purpose for it that I can think of. So the Honda mowers aren't that special, but the engines are absolutely amazing. My Husqvarna mower has a Honda engine and it takes little to no maintenance besides an oil change and a new spark plug every once in awhile just like all gasoline engines. It starts first try every single time even if it hasn't been started in over six months during winter.

    i really find it hard to get excited about any new mowers especially the hondas. I have a 91 Greenfield/Briggs and its so light and simple to use. All the new mowers have too many handles and levers etc than you could possibly deal with. I just want a throttle and a pull cord. Strong wheels and wheel bearings that dont get sloppy. A decent light catcher that breathes. A fuel tank thats closer to 2L so you dont need to fill it up everytime you use it. I just dont believe these are a lot to ask.

    You think those mowers are great?? go test an original "Made in Japan" Honda HR21-5 from 1980 and get back to me. A few of the features from their original mowers are: Self propelled with a 3 speed drive transmission, roto-stop blade control, a chrome bi-fold handle, grass bag, mulch or rear discharge option, side protection guards, snorkel air cleaner, front guard/lift handle, ball bearings on every wheel, replaceable rubber tires, reinforced inner metal liner on the cast alloy housing and of course the 200cc GV200 engine delivering 5HP with electronic ignition. Honda have yet to make ANYTHING that is built or works as well as these original mowers. I absolutely love my HR21-5s, nothing comes close to them for durability and quality.

Now I'll try the Time Master, 30 inch for hillside stability over the 21 inch residential long time mowers. Rear wheel drive is good..., all that belt, 2 blades and and pulleys stuff, is scary for maintenance reasons. BTW, That's the only engine on anything I have trashed in 63 years of mowing... I personally have never owned a honda, but shelled out some more cash than I wanted to on a toro a couple years ago and am very disappointed! I have never had a mower go bad on me in just a couple years! I just ordered a honda, we will see how it goes.

    Father just bent the crank on a property line marker someone didnt pound in all the way. I am a small engine mechanic and I started the process of replacing the crank.
    The most important thing you need to do when doing that is make sure you are ordering the correct part. You need to verify to model number of the mower and the model number of the engine along with their serial numbers. There are different lengths and sizes of crankshafts that honda engines uses between mowers.
    New OEM crank for the GCV190 was $39, which is CHEAP! Service manual states you must also replace the valve cover ($10) (they bend when you remove them) each time it is removed. Honda doesnt use any paper gaskets on the crankcase or valve cover, just RTV silicon ($6) (permatex max oil resistance).
    Cheap to repair if you ever manage to bend the crank....which happens, but other engines end up being very expensive to repair compared to these.

      Hell this is done by a honda REP SO i WOULDN'T CALL IT BIASED, HA HA, my exp with the HONDA isn't so good, yes it has features I like but my rear wheel drive has already quit working and the mower probably has 20 hours of use 4-5 years old , and year 2 it required a new pull start rope. I will stay with toro, husky OR craftsman FOR MY REPLACEMENT, all the ones I have had in the past lasted 20+ years.

    • @zfilmmaker

      Gary Sisk Honda mowers are hyped to be the best you can get..... and I agree with you, older models very well might have been. I’ve owned three and in my personal experience the higher the price the less reliable. 3 years ago I bought the cheapest rwd model with no bag for my beach house and it’s ultra reliable. My less then a year old HRX217HZA already had a warranty replacement on the electric start. For $880 that’s not looking to reliability. I see amazing reviews for Toro’s commercial recycler line which is every bit as good.

      @WJCTechyman 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@zfilmmaker I'm not so sure about that. Don't buy Toro, if you bought Toro, you may as well invest in a garbage mower from Walmart. Toro, from what I understand, has become a difficult business to deal with when it comes to warranty claims and various other things. I heard from one dealer that he deals with Exmark, because that company stands behind its products, and yes, I am aware that they are the same company but Exmark is an independent business within Toro. Some dealers have also said to me that Cub Cadet is better, but again, they would argue that, yes, Cub is a company within MTD but it's MTD's premium brand. Honda's machines, if you get up into the professional line are actually pretty beefy. If you buy the commercial mower, it's very much like the mowers from 30 or more years ago.

    I miss the old Honda harmonies. I had the Honda harmony 215. I purchased the top of the line Honda harmony a couple years ago that costed $800 and it under performed the old 2nd hand 215 seriously. A 15 year old 2nd hand lawnmower outperformed the brand new top of the line harmony with all features. That old engine was incredible. Its since failed but still its upsetting Honda's old mowers have Proven better than their new.

    • @beb1527
      @beb1527 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I bought the HRX with every option. Indeed the blade control is a nice plus. The mower starts so easily that I don’t think that feature is an absolute must-have especially if you get the electric start. I originally wanted the hydrostatic transmission and blade control but my dealer was out of that (HYA). Since these mowers last forever (extra $100 over the 15 year expected life of the mower isn’t much), I ended up buying the HZA. The electric start would seem silly on a Honda Mower, but I’ll confess that I really like it more than I thought I would. Regarding the blade control - to engage the blade one needs to simultaneously press a yellow button and pull a lever. 2 hands are needed for that, and I often mess up the timing and end up having to do it 2x to get the blade going. It’s actually easier to just restart the motor on a non blade brake model than it is to get the blade going on a blade brake model.

      @@beb1527 you'll definatly get 15 years out of your honda, the mower i had before this hrx217 was a Troy Bilt from lowes with the honda engine and i had it for 17 years and still started on the first or second pull everytime. But i couldnt pasa this honda up, it was at a close out store that sold northern tool returns and the valve cover was half off and lesking oil when i bought it for $175. Took it home and took the valve cover off and the only thing wrong was it was missing a nut on the valve adjuster. So I ended up with a brand new hrx217 for under $200.

    Would this be good for 1 acre of lawn, or do I need to move up to a riding lawnmower? I really dont want to spend thousands if I dont have to. Right now, I'm using a Toro that is well over a decade old. It chokes and shuts down when it hits taller grass.
