So enjoyed this video. Love it when you play a piece for us on your piano. Tip: when stems are cut, a little air bubble forms at the bottom of the stem. This makes it harder for the water to travel up the stem. To keep flowers fresher a little longer, snip the stems while submerged under water.

Roses are from a local flower shop. I love Chopin, and have learned many of his pieces, including some of the Ballades. If you go to my home page (click on the picture of me) and type "piano" into the search feature, you'll find a video of me playing a Chopin prelude. His other pieces are too long for videos here!

🎶Beautiful music! That is a great tip for arranging roses-I love fresh flowers because they brighten my mood and the atmosphere of the room. There was a study done a few years ago by the American Society for Horticulture Science which evaluated whether plants could have a therapeutic effect on surgical patients. According to the study, those who had the flowers in their room had a lower blood pressure and heart rate. The patients also experienced lower ratings of pain, anxiety, and tiredness and more positive feelings than the patients without the flowers. It suggested that flowers may be "complementary medicine" for recovering patients🌹
Playing the piano was in deed a great surprise. A gift! Thank you. Do you take care of your roses? I planted three rose bushes about five years ago and I do not know how to trim them so that they grow strong and pretty. They are a mess right now... but othe aroma of the flowers is so good!

The way to do this is a spray if Clorox in the case snd then add the water. There is a clear thin floral tape which is used to form a grid on the top of the vase then place the tides znd whatever us used for the filler
I’m so surprised to see you cut the flowers out in the air so to speak. My mom always taught me to cut fresh flowers underwater because the first thing they will do is suck up air otherwise. That leads to a much shorter life for a cut flower. And the second thing she always taught me was to cut the ends on a slight angle (like 1/2 of the side of a V) so that they don’t sit square on the bottom of the vase. I love your videos whether they are about decorating the house, working in the garden, cooking, or just having fun with your family and the puppy.
So you too love Bach? You must explore the recordings (on TH-cam and CD) made by the venerable, lovable John Lewis, founder of the Modern Jazz Quartet. There are 4 volumes of his arrangements of preludes and fugues from the Well Tempered Clavier. He plays the preludes as piano solos, then invites other musicians for the fugues. He also interlaces jazz compositions of his own, seamlessly, into the fugues (and preludes). They are magical, sound as if improvised sometimes, but are masterfully worked out to leave the Bach and return exactly where he left. I hope you will love them as much as I do.

Thank you! I have a hard time finding good flowers at the grocery. They seem to wilt very quickly. What do you look for to tell if flowers are good?
