So, you speak Yoruba fluently, Bayo???? Wow! May God bless your mother for raising a true African. I Knew of a particular Nigerian woman in the US who’s so engrossed with American lifestyle that she detests her own Yoruba heritage. She once said she’s thankful that we were colonized, otherwise we wouldn’t have been able to speak English!!! Can you imagine such a ridiculous mindset? Wow, you are making me to miss Naija o. See the natural Yoruba beauty of the waitress; no plastic nails, no toxic paints on the face; no bleaching of the skin. Chai , Omo! You guys are killing it!!!! Enjoy!!! I am home sick right now!!!
"To control a people, you must first control what they think about themselves and how they regard their history and culture. When a conqueror makes you feel ashamed of your culture and history, they do not need prison walls or chains to hold you captive." - John Henrik Clarke - This is regarding the woman you spoke of above and a lot of others like her.
Thank you so much for your heartfelt comment! Yoruba culture is indeed something to be proud of, and it’s heart-warming to see you appreciate it so deeply. Your love for home shines through-Naija misses you too. Stay blessed!!
I love everything about this place even especially the fact that it's small/intimate. I love the cultural pride and genuine hospitality. The clothing, wooden cups and bowls, the banana leaf wrappers, and art and history on the walls. We have strayed too far from all of these things and it has dealt with us severely. Every thing about this restaurant helps build the local economy. I only wish maybe it was built using modern mud and plaster techniques to let it breathe
I will like to try this place out. I like the fact they wear Yoruba traditional outfits and the setting looks good. I like trying out the various ethnic foods. @Bayo Adio - Thanks for posting.
Omg. I am so happy that they are in Lagos now. I was at their Ibadan restaurant last year. I will surely check them out when next I am in Nigeria. Thank you my brother. Great job.
I was there a couple of weeks ago. I couldn't believe the incredible cultural Renaissance experience I had. Yes, the place was small, but the professionalism of the staff and the food more than compensate for it.
I visited this place earlier this year, I must confess the food is amazing plus the cultural dress code they have on, is a very nice concept. Even though the food is expensive, I would visit again when I’m in Lagos🇳🇬🫶🏾
@@thenigeriannomad Alco free... love the drink. Good to see how engaged she was .Good to see. As per speaking Yoruba, there is an American Caucasian called Titi Layo who puts one to shame speak fluent Yoruba... check her out on the tube,. Good work Bayo 👍
But bayo, when I was in Lagos last month I didn't know about this particular restaurant. I only went to Yakoyo which their food is fantastic. Where is this place located in Lagos if you don't mind.
Hello Bayo, I am new to your channel , came across your channel last week and I have subscribed, where is ile Iyan in Lagos, is it in lekki VI or mainland? I will be coming to Nigeria in July, I will like to have a taste of ile- Iyan.
Bayo do you see any carribbean or AA ppl moving to Nigeria? Similar to Ghana? If yes do you think it's possible. I don't see much videos promoting visits to Nigeria like Ghana.
Ghana needs the population and investment. Nigeria is overcrowded. Again, the experience of some AA in Ghana is not very pleasant. There are videos on social media with many expressing their grief. Some of them are relocating to Kenya, Tanzania and South Africa.
@FERESE Nigeria isn't overcrowded just Lagos. We only need better city planning (all of the continent does). Also people are leaving the places you mentioned as well. It's just a matter of preference and many government aren't being smart to attract diaspora with that kind of money through policy. Nor do they think of the impact of migration of a large number of people on the average local
I know there at least two that I've seen on yt. There was a family of three that relocate from The Gambia (originally from uk). And other family (of maybe 5 plus) from the us. Also a brother Afrothinktank youtube.com/@afrothinktank42?si=eAjsI4Wl9GewZ94x is somewhere in Edo state I believe and he comes and goes and does business (I think mostly agriculture). I know he at least had a ginger farm and provisions shop. I believe he's also invested in the Caribbean
@@FERESEI agree with you that my country Nigeria is overcrowded but for your other points i do disagree. I think it is better Diasporans of African descents should focus on other African countries.

I love that she is wearing a traditional Yoruba outfit and I am Igbo. Let's continue to promote our culture!!! It doesn't matter which one!!!
Well said.
✊🏿 💯 percent agree

It's expensive, normal everyday Nigerians can't afford it.
EXPENSIVE , LIKE $40 US AVERAGE FOR A COMBO
Everything shouldn't be affordable for all ....fingers are not equal . There are places that affordable too .
Everybody should know their size ?
