You didn't mention the lack of playable characters it's incredibly disappointing.

The roster hurts this game for me. They screwed up not making Lisanna, Elfman, and Levy playable despite them being playable in the first game. If they are DLC again I will be pissed. Also Cana not being playable is a BS choice. Hell the character wheel could've fit WAY more characters but nope screw that I guess.
It's better than the first game but that shitty roster of playable characters is a big let down.

The lack of character makes this game bad in my opinion, shonen anime are known for having a big variety of characters, the games should always be the same, u can't make a game of a shonen anime and have a roster of 10 characters, when there are way more interesting characters, important characters, in my ho est opinión I loved the first game because of that, but this one disappointed me a lot with that character roster. And not just the characters including techniques, and transformations, is wild, story? Why would I play a game that's making me play what I already watch and read? Shonen anime games best fit are fighting games, and they would be more loved if they had at least 20 different character out of the probably 1,000 major characters.
They literally put sting and rogue as just a support attack 🤦🏻🤦🏻🤦🏻

Fairy Tail 2 was honestly SUCH a HUGE upgrade from the first game. The first game was truly and utterly just absolutely fucking garbage. Gameplay wise this game is easily a 9/10 compared to the 1.5/10 the first game was. I got halfway through the last arc of the Manga so this game is filling in some of the gaps that I've forgotten over the years. As for if its completely truthful to the Manga, I only just hit chapter 2 and so far it seems to be the case. Story wise it is still very good and very much so the Fairy Tail you've either read or watched. I won't lie, they really did make this one count and made me fall in love with it because the first game was such utter garbage. Without any biases I give this a solid 7.5/10. Completely skip over the first game entirely, its post game was still as much trash as the entirety of the first game. Just jump right into this and give it a shot either on sale/demo or possible trial at some point.

I got the game but man do I wish it had the English Dub. I got into the series through the English Dub when the anime first started, even met the English VA for Natsu at the Dragon's Cry movie premiere which was awesome so I'm so used to the great English VA cast and I'm sure they would've loved to voice their characters in this game but alas, Gust got their hands on Fairy Tail and they're allergic to Dubs now for some reason.
I know I'll enjoy the game because I love Fairy Tail but man, I wouldn't LOVED the game if it had an English Dub option, so much so it would be hard to put down. Maybe in the future if another company releases a Fairy Tail game.

I hate this sequel game, the graphics looked less good and more washed out celshade compared to the original which looked like anime 2D characters, then on top of that they changed the way the gameplay works it's still turn based only it's trying to mix Atelier action in it but it fails miserably. They should have just kept the FFX style turn based gameplay or gone full granblue fantasy relink.
I think the creators of relink should have done fairy tail then you would have got some really cute emotes and cool graphics with online gameplay as well, it should have been a massive open JRPG offline or online 2-8 players with that many character choice. Also we living in a world here where they making ecchi anime into a 12 rated game means they censored with black boarders and pop ins lol.

We can only equip three skills per character. This game is way more about spamming the same attacks than the first one.

You can actually equip more skills, you just have to press the R1 button to access them, meaning you can have 6 skills per character

That's just misninformation. There's 6 slots, not 3. And you barely ever used more than 6 attacks in the first one either

The problem with this game is that there is no game. It's one big double boss rush from beginning to end with little to nothing to do when you rarely have free time with the party you like. Made it to chap 7 and just stopped out of total boredom.

That's just really not true, but to each their own I guess.

I like it, but there's a few things I dislike. One of the big ones being how the awakenings work. For most of the game you only have your generic awakening that does nothing. Once you unlock the proper awakenings, it's a bit cooler but there's some obvious ones left out, like why the HECk does Natsu not have Dragon Force at all? Yeah I get he didn't use it in this arc in the show but still, he had it in 1, just make it a sidequest to unlock. I mean you even see him in the form for a few seconds against Zeref, but then nope. Same with his Etherious Form. It's in the game, but not for you. Why?
Generally the character progression is kinda unstatisfying. I'm a big fan of story unlocking cool stuff, like new forms or new moves. Especially the final boss should have given some kind of extra move. Natsu especially has a very lackluster moveset and really should have unlocked some more stuf. But nope, 100% of character progression is done via those 3 pairs of 3 lanes and that's that.
That was honestly pretty disappointing. The battle system itself was good, I like it better than the first one. But yeah, the roster was tiny AND all of them seem to have less moves than in the first game.
