my only problem with this game will be always the lack of models. for no fans is ok, but fans of the anime and manga will notice there are MANY characters missing, like.. a lot of them.
This was a big complaint of mine with the first game- sad to hear it's the same here. It was especially ludicrous to try and cover the Grand Magic Games arc if the development boundaries were going to be so constricting lol. Definitely would have rather seen something like a non-canon game story that might have been more polished but better fit within what the studio had available to work with.

I was told it’s typically not complicated with more story, characters and content later so hopefully that includes bigger map, bugs fixes and most importantly NG+
it'll probably only go up unless the game is really popular. physical copies of koei tecmo games in english tend to not be restocked often enough, and end up becoming rare as a result
Can you play as Irene, Erza's mother in this game? Your review was informative, entertaining and made me willing to consider buying this cool game. Fairy Tail is not bad, they could have just done more with it.

I liked the first Fairy Tail game since it showed off the story and characters from a lighthearted yet serious angle. I then watched the anime which I hated because IT is full of those moments I despise where something serious happens which is then immediately followed up by a joke that ruins the moment. I want serious moments to have time to sink in and breathe.
I love how their issues with the story are basically not the game's fault but that their pretty consistent with the actual story...most fans didn't like the rushed pacing and lack of depth/gravetos of the final arc and their resolutions of built up character interactions. Seems like he is improving on 100 years thought so a sequel game might be better story wise. Gotta love the authors gusto. B level in using old tropes and story beats, but keeps cooking to try one day be JJK and One piece level popular lol.

As a fan of Fairy Tail that got into the series with the great English Cast(which I was lucky to meet the Eng. VA for Natsu at the Dragon's Cry movie showing, which was awesome) going through the 1st game was tough and I never got used to it so it took away from the experience and it seems like this game will have that same affect for me. It's a real shame too since all the flaws you talked about I wouldn't mind at all if the game was Dubbed and I'm sure the English cast would've loved to voice their characters in game form. Sigh, oh well, maybe the next game or if some other company wants to make a FT game in the future we'll get an English Dub option. Still getting the game but I already know it'll be a 7 or 6/10 for me just for the lack of an English Dub. Not bad but could've been much MUCH more enjoyable. There are a lot of problem i have with the first game mainly repetitive gameplay, i have watched the whole anime so the way the first game delivered the story is also didn't sit right with me... and my biggest disappointment is that they are not even make and animate characters that are essential to the core stories... like meldi, a few members of fairy tail guild, raven tail members (especially laxus father) and many others like princess hisui and her guard Does this sequel has the same problem?
Right? So many insist the English dubs "fail to capture the spirit of the original dialogue." But all I end up hearing is a bunch of Japanese women gasping and screeching when I try going the Sub route. Give me an English Dub any day.
I really hope they throw caution to the wind and make a Fairy Tail Musou game akin to One Piece Pirate Warriors 4, I would throw money at that 😂😮 or a Fairy Tail Action RPG. I know it'll never happen but we can wish right? 😆

I very much dislike turn based combat Like i REALLY want to buy it because i love fairy tail, but I KNOW ill drop it in like 2 weeks 😂. Same reason why i didnt buy DB sparkling Zero. Love DB but dislike fighting games like it. Kakarot is more my style

Your plight with the OG anime is understandable. Mashima is like the WORST author when it comes to writing endgames for his OWN work. The very reason I've stopped giving a damn about anything he makes other than Edens Zero, which was the only of his works I gave about. Anyway, just another slightly decent anime IP made into game.

Does it do what the first game did where you hit max level and can prestige back to lvl1 with higher stats?
