Generally speaking, Canadian clinics are more understandable as vet shadowing is a thing in here and the staffs know that you need animal experience for your application. You don't need pre-vet work experience for Chinese vet majors so clinics may be like "what are you talking about" "we don't take volunteers"... I feel like regardless of where you are, you will only know until you talk to the clinic. And good luck with your application! I too hope you can get into OVC someday.

In my home country you can go to HBO (college?) after HAVO and after VWO (2 more years of “high school”) we can go to a university. I have done VWO after my HAVO and would be able to apply in my home country, other parts of Europe and South America ( I know this for sure), but I am unsure how it translates to Canadian or American school systems.. I am really interested in moving to either the US or Canada to study abroad, however I would prefer Canada (and so do my parents).
I think how to translate it does not matter that much, as long as you have a clear university transcript with all the required courses on it. Also recently I found out there are only about 2 or 3 university that has DVM program in Canada that accept international student, which is so frustrating!

Hi, the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine is an undergrad program. It sounds like great match for your scholarship. The prerequisite courses are undergrad courses that you have to take prior to going to vet school. Each school is different in the exact courses they require, but it usually comes down to biology, physiology, chemistry, physics, maths, and statistics... So if you want to apply to schools like Virginia tech, lllinois and university of Mississippi, make sure you check on their website for their academic requirements! they should have a list of pre-requisites for DVM applicants.

Hi, it completely depends on the school you are in right now and the school you are applying to. Generally, they only accept transfers from AVMA accredited vet colleges, so you would need to find that out.
