One evening back in 2014, I all of the sudden realized that I had wandered away from my true self. I got a message that the only way for me to get back on track with my life would be to mentally travel back to my childhood years. But how could a single mom with a ton of responsibilities afford doing that? And then an idea entered my mind: “ Start watching what you used to like when you were a kid.” I went on TH-cam, and typed in Robocop in the search bar; as this used to be one of my favourite characters. I saw this song, clicked on on it and just started crying. I must have cried for many hours, as I kept replying this song over and over again. I felt the shift. A truly emotional one. Thank you for this wonderful masterpiece. It warms my heart knowing that Peter Weller sang for Robocop. What a beautiful voice he has, doesn’t he? ❤ Cheers from Canada.
Robocop on the surface is a dumb sci fi action movie but it's actually a beautiful look at identity mixed with outrageous parody...that is also a badass sci-fi action movie. My mom even likes it and she is soo not the target audience.
Part of the problem is there are different editions of this musical. This one with the movie clips and one without when they had to take it down for copyright. Add together all the views and it is better. Still not as many as deserved.
The other action movie musicals are just funny. This one actually made me empathize with Robo. I came here for funny and now I'm all misty eyed. Thanks.
Our robot vacuum, Murphy, got its name from this song. Sometimes I wonder if it too had a past life as I watch it bang itself against half closed doors while cleaning.
The quality of his his work comes from his talent to really get into the essence of the movies and further explore their themes and characters. He does that with the precision of a fucking brain surgeon. He even uses their soundtracks in perfection. Unbelievable. Those songs stuck in your head for ages. They are perfect parodies with a great sense of detail. Cannot praise them enough.
It's been a long time since I've seen Robocop. History remembers it as a cheesy action flick~ and as a kid all I could remember was the action itself and some of the comedic elements. This has reminded me why Robocop was such an amazing movie, scored by the same composer as Conan: Basil Poledouris. An amazing cast~ incredible action... and a lasting story. I was excited for a Robocop remake, but now I'm not~ because it, like many other 80's classics deserve to be timeless.
I’m gonna get this over a million views on my own. What a masterpiece. Super haunting when the music is swelling and he’s checking the database and seeing his own record marked deceased. 2:39
I have to go now (Murphy it's you!) I must not linger! (No one told me but I knew it I saw!) I will find these killers (It's in your stomp it's in your voice it's in your draw!), I'll use my finger! The culmination of the two threads of the duet in that part is amazing. Goose bumps every time, despite the tongue-in-cheek approach it's something for the heart.
Even though this musical is beautiful in its current state, I can imagine how epic it would be with an entire choir singing it. I think I would actually be brought to tears because of how emotional it would sound.
What I love about Robocop that it's actually a really deep movie sort of disguised as a brainless action flick. You did a great job with this song capturing the underlying themes of humanity.
I think it has been up and down on youtube over the years, due to various copyright claims. These guys are definitely 1 of my favourite things on youtube.
My two sons and I would sing your parody/tribute songs every day on the drive home from middle school. Their lyrics are permanently burned into my soul with nothing but hilarious memerioes attached to them. Both sons are grown now and we still sing them! Dont know if you'll see this post but just wanted to say thank you 😎👍
Honestly, the story would make for a FANTASTIC musical! Man finding his humanity, corporate corruption, revenge, bombastic music, and all at operatic proportions!

i do what I can to raise views for this, the last 14 years its been at least once a week not counting the times I've listened to it 70 times in a day or close to. And not just this one, Conan is my favorite, but The Thing and The Help are PERFECTION. "how many corpses are given the chance to avenge themselves after they're lost?" Is probably the best line this song could ever have, right in the heart right there. Thank you Jon and Al, for years of this. i hope some day you see this.
AMAZING! Wow - they really captured the spirit of the film, all these musicals are just amazing! I would buy them all as a single DVD set with all the songs on! Great work - keep it up - your too good!
I've just discovered your awesome vids and expected to laugh my arse off watching this one but instead you made me realise how excellent the original Robocop was, nothing else has ever come close to it.
Introduced this song to my son, he loves it. I keep coming back to listen to this song. The story, emotion and wonderfully melodic combination of the 2 lead singers at the end is a master stroke!
I love it. Great Work. Robocop is my favorite movie. And the voice peter weller is very nice. Sorry for my English. I am Spanish. My opinion is that the scenes are also well chosen. One of the things I liked about the film is the humanity of murphy. Yes, I would not call it Robocop, I call him Murphy. Sensitized me pain having lost his family and his life. i originally wasn't interested with the movie, but after hearing this song, i looked it up online and the original was so amazing.
Hopefully you watch the unedited director's cut, absolutely phenomenal movie!

"Why can I punch through a wall and not feel it, but don't know that I had a son?" BEST LYRIC EVAR
I just watched this for the first time in years since the videogame Robocop: Rogue City came out. It really nails the movie feel.
This stuff deserves a gazillion views. A unique mixture of hilarious sendup and genuinely moving lyrical hooks!
This musical is so sad it really catches the point of Murphy and Lewis, IT really makes you feel bad if Robocop was real :(
Yeah
This is one of the best sci-fi movies ever made.
yup
Agreed
The heartwarming tale of Robocop. Sweet.
It sure is

I first saw this as a literal child, probably 12 or 13. Ten years on and I still think it’s stellar- surprisingly emotionally effecting.
